Whitefish House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bath with Loft 2 Blocks From Downtown

An 'Old Whitefish' home, newly renovated, still with its original charm. A view of Whitefish Mountain and just a short walk to city beach at the foot of Whitefish Lake or Central Ave only steps away. The Railway district is in the heart of Whitefish, in a lazy and quiet little neighborhood convenient to just about everything. Feel like you are part of the neighborhood while you are enjoying grilling in the back yard. A turn key rental for you to enjoy.

The location is just one block to Whitefish hotspots such as Mambo's, Loulas, Pescado Blanco, Swift Creek Cafe, 2nd Steet Pizza, The White room Ski Shop, Glacier Cyclery, and just 2 blocks to Central Ave., the Farmer's Market, Gallery Nights, the SNOW bus pick up and two of Whitefish's best parks on the Whitefish River. It is also located just down the street from Whitefish Lake Golf Club, which also offers cross country skiing in the winter, and The Wave Fitness Center. Hop on your bike and it's just a short ride on the bike path along Whitefish River to City Beach at Whitefish Lake. You'll love being able to get to and from the shops, restaurants, and all that Whitefish has to offer with such ease.

About Maggie Lin

I moved to Whitefish on a whim 3 years ago and fell in love with the area. I have bought property in the Railway District to fix up the existing structure and to help the revitalization of our neighborhood.

Maggie Lin purchased this house in 2013

Why Maggie Lin chose Montana

This is an old Whitefish home built in 1918 in the Railway District of downtown Whitefish. A cute house to begin with and is being updated and opened up to a more modern feel. We have opened up the house and allowed its charm to shine through.

Great Location and Dog Friendly

  • 4 of 5

The Railroad District is a great location - a short walk to downtown and trail access. Appreciate the off-street parking and willingness to allow well-behaved dogs!

Booking the house was easy and Maggie was responsive to inquiries.

Perfect for Whitefish!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this property for a week about a month ago and had a very positive experience. There were three of us - one couple and son - and everything was exactly as shown on the website. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and we had every kitchen item that we needed to fix a few meals. We had two vehicles and room to park both off the street. The location is great for Whitefish - within walking distance for everything - restaurants and shops. The washer and dryer came in handy - and the cable worked well. The neighborhood is quiet. I appreciated that there were items like dishwasher tabs, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, a fan in the bedroom etc....so, we didn't have to purchase all that....as well as a few odds and ends of spices, such as salt and pepper etc. We would definitely stay there again - and hope to in the future!

Hobbit House

  • 4 of 5

The location and house were both fantastic. It was clean when we arrived and lots of notes for you (about the history of Whitefish/things to go there, etc). The only downfall I had of the experience was that Maggie took a while to respond sometimes and the automatic cleaning fee/additional fees almost doubled the rental rate. That is more of a VRBO issue I believe though.

Perfect home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

The Hobbit House was exactly what we were looking for in a rental home. Cozy and nicely decorated. Quick drive to Glacier and Kalispell. WiFi didn't work the greatest and kept kicking us off, but that was minor. Thank you.

Great place to stay. Easy access to downtown.

  • 5 of 5

The house was cozy, comfortable and clean.

The wifi would kick us off often, but that could be because we were trying to send photos from laptop to online storage. While sitting on back deck I saw and heard the sterling birds in their nest in the roof of the house by the antenna. The prompt delivery of a plunger was appreciated.

Parking was a bit frustrating. We drove 2 cars due to the size of our boys. One parked on the side of house. One in front street by steps. The first day we were asked if we can move the car from the street and squeeze next to house making 2 cars there. The neighbors wanted to park their rv on the street so they could plug in and leave town in a couple days. After they left a red 4 door Cadillac parked in that spot and never moved. So we had to jockey 2 cars around whenever we left to any events.

We would definitely come back to this home when we are in whitefish again.
