About Claire Keys

Claire & Fritz invite you to share a part of their space, an incredible setting to get away from it all. We live on the property and usually found working the vineyards or the gardens. You will appreciate the landscaped gardens which are Fritz's passion. This is a working vineyard run by Fritz and our grapes are sold to 3 local wineries. Claire's passion is cooking and entertaining and what spare time she has she spends in her vegetable and herb garden. Both have worked hard to make vintage view cottage a dream come true. Claire owns a retail store downtown Penticton, where she sells tea and hand knotted area rugs. Both love to travel and have seen numerous places around the globe and you will see some of the unique artifacts they have collected in the cottage.

What makes this cottage unique

We are constantly told what a unique and amazing little piece of the Okanagan we have. Vistas from every part of the property, and whether you awake to the birds singing or a breathtaking sunset you really feel like you have escaped away from it all. Just 10 minutes from Penticton it is hard to believe you are so close to all the conveniences when you arrive. Gardens, vineyards and the famous rocking climbing bluffs are on your doorstep. If it is peace and tranquility or adventure, training for the challenge or triathlons held at various times of the year, Vintage View Cottage is for you.

A wonderful first impression that lasted all week long

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Vintage View Cottage in June 2016 for 7 nights. When we drove into the property we were immediately impressed by the beauty of the vineyard, the large trees, the flowers, and the view of Lake Skaha. We had the feeling that this would be the little oasis we were hoping for and we were not disappointed in any way. Fritz greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is very comfortable, cozy, and clean. The description on VRBO matched the property well. It is also has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, and new washer and dryer. Fritz and Claire were friendly and warm throughout our stay. We never felt out of place on their property and we had plenty of privacy. Overall, we would highly recommend this vacation rental and hope to return in the future.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

Amazing place to stay. This place added to our trip by giving an beautiful, quiet place to relax at the end of the day. Incredible view of Skaha lake and the park behind the property which is very easy to access. Claire and Fritz are amazing hosts and truly made us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay. We were very lucky to have another friend either waiting for us or quickly coming to meet us when we returned, that being their quiet playful dog Pekoe. The place has everything you need including two patios to let you soak in the sun and incredible view. The cottage is nestled between vineyards and their immaculate manicured property. We would look no further than this property if we were to return to Penticton, assuming it was available!!

Vintage View Cottage is beyond anything you would ever expect; a place of complete peace, a place where you feel like you have found 'home', a place of excellence. From the moment you enter through the private gate to the endless, perfectly kept vineyards you know you have found something exceptional. Claire and Fritz are incredible people. They will make your stay one filled with a welcome that is seldom seen anymore. Their dog Pekoe is amazing; we enjoyed many walks with him and laughed over his incredible jumping abilities! The cottage is perfect. I know no better word. The kitchen is bright and well equipped for gourmet dinners, with a large BBQ just outside the kitchen door. A quiet sitting area on this side of the cottage is perfect in the morning with the warm morning sun. The living area is lovely, with many decorations added from the owners travels around the world; a unique touch not usually seen in rental units. The living area overlooks the lake and mountains. Just outside the door is a beautiful covered deck with outside furniture to sit and enjoy the view of the vineyard, mountains and lake. The hummingbirds almost in constant flight while we were there. The bedroom is gorgeous and very large. Everything is immaculate. The bed is very comfortable, with only high end linens and again more art and antiques that truly make this cottage a place that will never be forgotten. Opposite the bed are wall to wall windows again facing the mountains and lake. Outside the patio doors from this room as well, is another deck with a table and chairs for dinners with the evening sun setting behind the mountains. The property is incredible. The vineyards, rose bushes, large trees, gardens, are all perfectly cared for. Walking through the property daily was a real highlight. Just outside the gate, just a short walk and you can hike endless miles to the bluffs. The views are incredible, and the peace. Another short walk down the road and you can visit a local winery and enjoy excellent wine and cheese overlooking yet another gorgeous vineyard. You will not want to leave. You will wish that you booked many additional nights. And you will do all you can to return. Thank you Clair and Fritz for sharing this very special place with us; for offering to us a place of peace, beauty and excellence.

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Vintage View Cottage for the first week of September and it was nothing less than spectacular. The Cottage felt like home, Claire and Fritz were wonderful hosts and our morning visits from Pekoe while sipping our coffee on the deck was a great way to start our day. The vineyard is stunning and the view is world class. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Vintage View Cottage! You won't be disappointed!

Vintage View Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We So enjoyed our stay at Vintage View Cottage. We found it a wonderful place to relax, write, hike, climb, play games, cook and enjoy wine with friends. The beautiful views, the vineyards, the trail, the rocks and even the fabulous rusty old relics that adorned the property made for excellent photo opps. We didn't even need to go off property to have a great vacation get away. But did one day, to check out Penticton's shopping and it's golf courses only moments away. Teas and Weaves a wonderful place too! Very well equipped, clean, fabulous friendly hosts. We'd recommend it to all our friends. Loved it. We'll be back. :)

A Rare "Vintage" Experience!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had an opportunity to return once again to the Penticton area and fortunately came across the listing for Vintage View. Their availability was sparse but, lucky for us, we were all able to carve out six contiguous nights for our stay there.

WOW! The property itself is perfection - the view, heavenly - and the owners as sweet and dear and accommodating as it gets!

The Okonagan is a most special area to explore - its food, wines and physical beauty and outdoor opportunities abound. The valley covers an extensive are and, for us, the Penticton area is the best vantage point from which to explore the rest of what is offered.

This place and its owners hold a special place in our hearts and we certainly hope to get back there again! Thank you dear Claire and Fritz!

Vintage View cottage is tucked away on our property. Very private and secluded at the end of the road.

On a bench overlooking Skaha Lake you are surrounded by vineyards, hard to believe you are only 10 minutes from downtown Penticton. In the heart of the Okanagan valley where tourists flock from around the world. Festivals and tourist attractions start in May and continue right through until mid October, for the now famous annual wine festival. Plenty of activities within a few minutes of your doorstep. Saturday mornings market downtown Penticton is a great way to spend the morning before heading to the beach. We love our piece of heaven and know you will too.
