About the property

entire apartment in the Colonial Zone

Our house is conveniently located within the Colonial area of the city (Zona Colonial) Santo Domingo and is situated on one of the rarely quiet blocks. It's just a few minutes walk from all of the wonderful restaurants and shops, and is just 1 block from the ocean. The entire home has been recently renovated and special attention was given to preserve the colonial style and charm. What makes our space unique are the details. Wood tones, Colonial feel, modern utilities (water pressure, hot water, security, redundant internet), quiet and plenty of space.

Guest access

The entire apartment is for rent. We're on the 2nd floor of the complex and share an entrance/stairs with 3 other apartments.

Guest interaction

We may/may not be in town for the weekend. If we're in the area, we'd love to meet you.

Neighborhood overview

The colonial zone is amazing. You'll find a mix of tourism with locals who have lived their entire lives in the area. You can get anywhere by foot and/or an Uber/taxi. Thanks to modern technology, you'll have access to a US-based phone and a few speed-dials to help with any questions/concerns you may have. On our street specifically, you'll mainly find local families and less tourists (what we ourselves prefer). The neighbors are welcoming but for the most part don't speak English... a great chance to brush up on your Spanish.

Getting around

We have street parking available and taxis can take you to the street. This said, to catch a taxi, you'll need to walk 1 block to the ocean side. You can catch a cab immediately behind our building at a restaurant (which I recommend) D' Luis Parrillada.

Other things to note

While we have upgraded our place with redundancies, the island is known for power outages, and other cuts in utilities. When the electric is out, most things should continue to run on our battery system, but AC will not.

Un appartement de charme er de confort deux belles chambres la literie de tres bonne qualité et salles de bains . Deux petits balcons sympa sur la rue. Le propriétaire tres agréable et serviable . Emplacement est top pour ce qui aime le calme un peu bruyant la chambre sur la rue le samedi soir. De plus on peut aller dans le centre ville a pied et autour sans voiture. Près de la mer, quartier sécurisé.Un coup de coeur pour la terrasse sur le toi vue mer idéale pour les apéros et dîner en amoureux . Merci encore Jean Luc Grabowski de St Barth
