Convenient access to Downtown (1 mile) allows you to avoid freeway traffic if you work in the area. This property is perfect for long-term stays or executives on temporary assignment who want to stay in a lovely, quiet neighborhood that is convenient to everything. Stayed here for much of the summer; great location, very convenient, very nice layout and plenty of space.
My friend and I came to San Diego for a few days while I was going to a conference at the convention center, and this place could not have been better. The apartment was beautiful and clean, and had everything we could have needed for our stay. As the title says, the location was also very convenient, at least for me, as I wanted to go downtown for the convention, explore the park to the east, and go to the coast around La Jolla, so the location was a nice compromise between all of these places. Great stay. If we visit San Diego again, we will definitely stay here again :) From the beginning the owner responded back to emails, ASAP when we had them, the listing description, amenities and photos were accurate and the home was clean and well maintained. Easy bus access to and from down town and there are a lot of restaurants located on 5th Ave which is nearby. I can't say enough, we all were impressed with the property and had a great time during our stay!
Our visit was slightly overshadowed by the weather 'May Grey' so the plans for Mission and Pacific Beaches were off. We were therefore lucky we hadnt booked there but went for this centrally located apartment which was near to the San Diego Zoo and also Balboa Park, which has enough features, museums and exhibitions to please most people.
The apartment was very spacious with a great layout, up to date fittings and tastefully decorated, especially with the original wall paintings and art on display. The small rear outside seating area did come into its own on sunny occasions too. The neighbourhood felt extremely safe and quiet with very few people or cars around so there were no problems with sleeping. Parking spaces were also easy to find in the wide neighbouring streets.
We ate out in the nearby Hillcrest District which is a 10 - 15 minutes walk and has many restaurants. Little Italy was also within walking distance for restaurants (25 minutes) although this time we drove, but the parking there was more of an issue. Good choice of restaurants though. Nearer to the apartment was 'Mister ‘A’s' - also worth a visit which was great for amazing views over San Diego and good value for a small meal during their cocktail hour.
We never met Roberto but after communicating with him a couple of times over minor issues, he responded very promptly and efficiently.
The bedroom is such a good size but we were surprised that it didn't have the luxury of a wider bed. Also overseas visitors (especially UK) will find the omission of an electric kettle striking although there is an on hob version. These were minor issues so overall, this is a very nice rental apartment which I would highly recommend.
The property was great. The location was great. Had a lovely stay in San Diego.
The size of the unit was a big plus. The rooms were large and all the furniture was very comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped and the unit was very clean. Access to the unit couldn't have been more
easier. Had a really good meal at Jimmy Carter's Mexican Restaurant just a few blocks away. Walked
to Balboa Park frequently. I would definitely recommend this property. My only issue was with the "Roku"
box to the TV. It wasn't something we were used to.
We go to San Diego every winter and almost always try a new place each time, but I think we will try to stay in this home again if possible. The neighborhood is very sweet and quiet, the house is well appointed, clean, and large, and the landlords are extremely responsive if you need anything. I walked to Balboa Park everyday! I miss it already.
The San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Downtown, beaches and Sea World water park - all within 1 mile radius !!
