It is a paradise for walking, cycling, eating and drinking, and you do not need a car! We have 2 places in prime locations, the Feathered Nest is one of them.
Debbie Mills purchased this apartment in 2012
The architects who converted this 100 year old house into 2 units did a great job of maintaining the old charm while adding modern amenities, we have recently upgraded the property again. It is a home from home in the absolute best area in Portland.
Walking distance to restaurants, bars, breweries, theaters, light rail, parks, the river, downtown & the Pearl district, the Timbers soccer stadium, Lots of separate spaces, a peaceful porch and sun room for reading and rain watching. Large dining room, living room and kitchen.
This apartment was charming, clean and comfortable. Our family enjoyed cooking in the well supplied kitchen and eating together in the dining room. The bed linens were wonderful and beds very comfortable. Lots of hot water and fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The apartment is situated on a quiet street in NW Portland, within an easy walk of the resturants and shops of town. We loved this place and all enjoyed our time there.
My family and I stayed in A Feathered Nest during our vacation in Portland during Thanksgiving week. We had a wonderful vacation made special by the lovely home we booked. We were so impressed by the cleanliness and eye for detail provided for our comfort. The home is beautiful and inviting. Deb checked in with us to be sure we were comfortable and see if we had any questions. I have never had such a welcoming experience. We walked all over Portland and didn't even rent a car. I am looking forward to staying at the nest in the future.
We started out as a group of three, and we were able to add another person for a family reunion. This flexibility was worth a lot, as we didn't know for sure if the fourth was coming until a few weeks before departure. Communication with Debbie was fantastic. The house looked great in the photos, but it was even better in person. It really was the perfect fit for us. Everything that you could possibly think of was included (and easy to locate). It is obvious that a lot of thought and effort has gone into making this place comfortable for travelers. Everything was spotlessly clean and in working order. We loved the location -- easy walking distance to NW 21st & 23rd streets, the Pearl District, and public transportation (& bike share). Our security deposit was promptly refunded. Highly, highly recommend this beautiful and comfortable property.
Lovely, serene, and charming, the Feathered Nest exceeded our expectations. This property is beautifully maintained and provides everything needed for a stay in the city with careful consideration for anyone who might visit. There was privacy for both bedrooms. This home is in a great and walkable location in a quiet neighborhood. We traveled with our dog and found an excellent park nearby. We hope to visit this property again sometime!
The hostess has everything you could want in the home. We cooked and found all needed items. Close to restaurants, shops & attractions.
Would stay again for sure. She even has book with all local spots & newspaper articles & magazines about each one.
Debbie's house is absolutely amazing. The location is perfect for walking to most areas of the city, with lots of restaurants close by. The attention to detail in the house is fantastic. We had everything we needed and more. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks again for a wonderful stay, Debbie. And can't thank you enough for your Portland-info packed binder!
