Great House, Beautiful and Friendly Island

  • 5 of 5

I'll try to address things the major things that stuck out to me on my trip. I took my wife, two children (ages 6 and 5), and my parents to this house from July 18-July 25, 2017.

1. The people on the island are very friendly and helpful. Even with little children we felt very safe and would encourage others to take their children to the island.

2. Driving on the island is pretty tricky. Lots of detours and very few signs. I would strongly recommend having some type of GPS if you go. The locals don't drive aggressively, though, so they do make it easier.

3. George is a great addition to the rental. He's very smart and kind. It's very nice to have someone there for you who can be to your house in 2 minutes.

4. Renting the car through Edward was the way to go. Cheaper and easier than going through a rental agency. High quality vehicle (Toyota Sienna).

5. The house is beautiful and spacious.

6. The beach was a bit of a disappointment. It is somewhat sandy, but also a lot of rocks. You will want to bring water shoes for sure. There are other sandy beaches on the island that you can visit (Baby Beach, Arashi Beach, etc.). If you want to stay at the rental all day and lay out on a sandy beach, this house likely isn't for you. If you're ok with spending some beach time elsewhere on the island then this house would serve you well.

7. Groceries were a little less than double the cost when compared to home. That's pretty typical in a vacation area, though, and not unexpected.

8. Restaurants - G&G Pizza was very good. Pizza and awesome wings.

Mi Dudu - Beautiful grounds. Good food. Service a little slow

Flying Fishbone - Expensive but a great meal. Amazing setting. A must do for a nice meal.

9. Go to the Donkey Sanctuary, especially if you have kids! Great time! Wonderful animals! We all enjoyed it so much.

All in all, I loved my trip. Besides the beach being rockier than I would have liked, I think my trip met or exceeded every expectation I had. Thanks to Edward and George for a great family experience!

Owner's Response: Thanks for nice review . Only with small stones on the beach sometimes waves bring them to the beach and sometimes it taking them back from the beach:)))) Mother nature out of my control. Edward

Excellent, highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed for two weeks at Oceana Villa and we had a fabulous holiday in all respects. There were 6 of us so we all had our own bedroom, just one shared for mother and daughter. Everything you could wish for - aircon worked well, loads of kitchen tools (glasses, crockery, cooking pots etc). The pool was wonderful and a large terrace with shaded area and direct access to the beach which was rarely used by anyone else but us. So quiet and relaxing and walking distance to a supermarket for necessities. George the caretaker was the main man for us all - he drove us everywhere we wanted to go, even though we did hire a car for a week but a bit afraid of driving on the other side of the road (all of us from the UK) - he made our holiday the best it could ever have been as he was so kind and accommodating for our every trip. We visited baby beach a couple of times which was beautiful and a must visit - George took us on a tour of the island. Must visit restaurants included Madame Janettes, Flying Fish, Zeerovers, Barefoot. Bugaloes on the beach was a great bar for karaoke and good fun. The Jolly Pirates afternoon boat trip was great fun and only $42, all drinks included. We visited Renaissance Island for the day and fed the flamingos and also Palm Island - my preference is Renaissance as quieter and more plush. My real chill out was to sit on the rocks on our beach and chill for an hour listening to the waves of the ocean slapping against the rocks, true bliss! We had a lady come to the house who gave us an hours massage treatment on our terrace, wonderful and also a lovely lady called Shirley who cooked us a barbecue dinner after a day out. I'm back at work today but I definitely plan to return to this villa in the future. The owner Edward is so prompt at replying to any queries and very polite. We love Aruba and miss it so much - it's grey and miserable in London today! Hope the villa is free for us in 2019 when we plan to return ...

Beautiful Beach House in Aruba

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property from may30- June 6 with our whole family. This house was right on the beach. There was lots of activities and places to sight see. We went through the national park, climbed the 600+ stairs to the top wher you could see all of Aruba went snorkeling, took a four hour brunch, snorkeling sight seeing cruise, did loads so shopping and relaxing at our house and at the many beaches there. George was a great help, he checked on us every day and was available whenever we needed him, we would highly recommend this place, it had 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, large kitchen living room, and a fabulous ocean view from the kitchen and the large patio.Miguel from Massachusetts USA

The entire experience was fantastic. Edward's place is the way to do Aruba!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with 2 other couples. Edward always promptly communicated any questions we had leading up to the trip. The house was perfect and well kept. The pool just off the back door was used everyday. We snorkelled everyday whether in the back yard or just a five minute walk down the street to a nice beach and snorkel area. Out back of the home was good snorkeling but the walk to Mangel Alto was well worth it. We visited Baby Beach also for a quick dip and snorkel. We loved the fact that the home is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel district and town.

George is The Man. George will greet you at the home and be there for anything you need. He had a van in the driveway for us. We also rented a jeep for 2 days. George arranged for a massage on the back patio. He also arranged for a chef to come to the home one evening. It was great to relax and enjoy a fine meal without having to get dressed up and go out. As well as we did not have to do the dishes. As for the other nights we did dine out and highly recommend all the places we ate except The Pelicans Nest. Most places were a 20-30 minute ride. We highly recommend El Gauchos for some delicious steaks. We ate with our feet in the water at The Flying Fishbone(just a 5 minute drive). We liked it so much we went again and dined on the top deck. Our group also dined at Madame Janettes as well. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a romantic dinner for 2 in our own little cabana on the beach at Elements. We did a few tours through Viator as well as took a day trip in the van to see some sights.

This place is the way to go. Edward has everything you need and George is there to see make sure you enjoy your stay.

Everything you need all in one spot! Great for kids!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 9 days with 6 kids ages 2-15. This house has everything we needed. The property is completely enclosed so no chance of wandering off. The pool has a large shallow and deep end. The beach was quiet and beautiful. Lots of coral and rocks in the water so bring water shoes.

We were able to snorkel right past the rocks and the reef was more beautiful than the places you take tours to. There were plenty of fish in the little coves too for the little kids to practice snorkeling. We also took the kayaks out which the kids loved!

George was a great help. Checked in on us every day and was just a text away if we needed anything from reservations, recommendations for things to do or to get us to and from the store.

The layout of the house was great for gathering. The rooms all had queen beds and there was a crib and pack n play for our little ones. Also we rented the van from them which was very convenient. We took cabs to the house and on the day we left George brought us back.

Can't wait to go back!!
