This historic estate on the hills surrounding florence dates to the 1200's and was originally the home of Accursio da Bagnolo, famous for having gathered the definitive publication of giustinian law. The present villa was built in 1874 by architect architect Leopoldo Pasqui. Today the villa has been lovingly restored and completely updated by its current owners.
The villa sleeps ten comfortably but additional guests can be accommodated through special request. The rooms are all bright and spacious and feature exquisite interiors and flooring. The bathrooms are all large and most with enormous showers and separate bathtubs. The extensive grounds ensure privacy and plentiful options for rest and relaxation.
Your stay at Vila Accursio includes preparation and service of two authentic italian meals a day*, as well as daily housekeeping and maid service by our on-premise care takers. *Food & beverage costs are not included.
The owners fell in love with Italy when they moved there in 2001. In 2004, they came upon this historic villa which was in a state of disrepair. Over the years they have restored it to its original grandeur, hired a staff to maintain their high standards and extend a high level of hospitality to visiting guests.

The picturesque setting and deep history of this property made this a truly unique property.
The villa is set on 40 acres of beautiful landscaping, olive groves and vineyards. Our farm provides the villa with fresh eggs, fresh produce, livestock and the highest quality olive oil and wine.
A stay at Villa L’ Accursio is a slice of heaven. Our family has taken many vacations around the world, but this villa nestled on a hill in Tuscany is our favorite. The house is well maintained and beautifully decorated. Each bedroom suite is very spacious and comfortable! The kitchen is always a fun place to hang out with Fely the most amazing cook…discussing what meal she would be preparing for lunch or dinner. Her specialty, amongst many, is eggplant parmigiana!!
The villa is situated on a hillside over looking the most beautiful Tuscan landscape of cypress and olive trees as well as the family vineyard. There is a gorgeous pool and pool house that we spent many afternoons relaxing in after a full day touring around the countryside. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the basketball court and pool table as well as various games on the 3rd floor such a ping- pong and foosball.
The location of the villa is ideal. It is an easy 20 min. drive down to Florence, but also close to many quaint towns with loads of interesting shops, markets, and restaurants. The town of Impruneta is just a skip away and has fresh vegetable and meat market as well as a wonderful bakery, coffee shop and three wonderful restaurants.
We have recommended this special villa to many of our friends and they have also enjoyed family vacations there, and most have plans to return to this paradise again!!
This home offers it all--antiques, beautiful appointments, sweeping views, privacy, a superb location within minutes of Florence and of course, infinity pool, tennis court and vineyards.
Villa L'Accursio exceeded our very high expectations. It is simply more beautiful and even more grand in person than I thought it would be based on the website pictures.
There are eight unusually large bedrooms, plus multiple sitting and living areas, including a bar, a billiards room, a ping pong and foosball room, and two TV rooms.
The terrace has a lovely view of the valley and was the setting for most of the wonderful and memorable meals that Fely prepared for the eight couples in our group. We also enjoyed one meal in the large formal dining room, which comfortably accommodated all 16 of us.
The unexpectedly large pool was a great place to relax after a long day of "touring," and it has a very nicely appointed pool house with bathroom, changing room and full kitchen.
The location of the villa is also great in that it is close enough to Florence that transportation by taxi is a very reasonable alternative (usually about taking 20 minutes and costing just 30 euros or so) and is just inside the northern boundary of the Chianti Region. Impruneta is very close to Greve-in-Chianti, which is home to the celebrated Castello di Verrazzano (birthplace of the great 16th Century explorer) and any number of other great wineries.
The Villa is also a very short distance from the Florence American Cemetery and Memorial, which is not as large as the one in Normandy, but just as moving and majestic (over 4,000 Americans were buried there after the liberation of Rome in early June 1944).
I almost forgot to mention the observation cupola above the third floor, the tennis court, and surrounding grove of olive trees. And the cappuccino maker in the kitchen, which almost everyone in our group learned how to use while we were there.
All in all, a truly one-on-a-kind experience that I cannot recommend highly enough.
A fabulous place to stay with a large group of family/friends. The villa is beautifully and comfortably furnished, wonderful outdoor spaces (dining, pool, tennis, etc.) and a quiet retreat. Plenty of things to do for children and adults alike. Loved every minute of it.
Recently I took my entire family for 16 nights at this villa. Honestly, the only downside is that every future vacation will have to try to live up to this one. It's not like staying in someone's house, it's more like having your own five star hotel.
It's the perfect combination of access to great cities of Tuscany, and a magnificent pool to lie around some days. Proximity to Florence allows you to do half-days in town, half days at the villa, which is nice. If you can't decide between and art-history-food vacation, and a lie-by the-pool-and-relax vacation -- here you don't have to choose, you can do both.
Fely and Oscar, the caretakers, are lovely, and Fely is an incredible cook. Her lemon chicken and brick-oven pizza were standouts.
The property is vast, with a tennis court/soccer field and two thousand olive trees. We had two boys, 5 & 6 years old with us, and many days were spent hiking around the olive groves, looking for deer (we saw) and wild boar (heard but never saw).
Impruneta is 3 minutes away by car, and has a lovely square, 3 restaurants, and two good spots for gelato. The not-to-be missed towns of Siena and Lucca are less than an hour's drive away. (We hired vans from Chianti Drivers, so none of us had to drive, which made things even easier. And the drivers were all the nicest people.) Florence, obviously, is quite close.
When I booked the vacation, it seemed a bit expensive. In hindsight -- as a vacation for 13 people, it was remarkably reasonable -- considering what you get.
If you can afford it -- do it. It's exactly the Tuscan vacation you're imagining, only better.
We stayed for two weeks in this gorgeous home. All the rooms are very generously sized. The house itself is even larger than it looks in photos and is beautifully appointed with modern amenities. The cook prepares wonderful family meals. And the location can't be beat - perfect for exploring Florence and all the Tuscan hill towns. Easy rental transaction on VRBO. Highly recommend this villa.
Situated among vineyards and olive groves above the hills of Florence, Villa Accursio offers an incomparable Italian experience.
