Why Patrice Zutter chose Emily
We purchased this property in 2004 and have been working hard every year to make it more enjoyable and never run out of things to tweek based on our customer feedback. We have on-site caretakers who can assist you and answer any questions you may have. We have 150' of safe, sandy beach as well as a floating island for your enjoyment and lots of water toys as well. Quiet country environment but with free access to WiFi so you can keep up things while you are relaxing if you wish.
What makes this Lodge unique
We have the only boat ramp on Lake Mary for your use as well as two docks for you to enjoy some fishing or lounging in the sun. The lake is quiet, offers excellent fishing and plenty of room for water sports galore. We work with a local company so we can have a boat delivered for your use during your stay - let us know you are interested and the boat will be here when you arrive waiting at the dock!

Quite an experience
My family of 10 adults and 12 children ranging in ages 18 - 2 1/2 spent four nights at this resort in The Lodge. When we arrived I was surprised to learn that we were responsible to bring our own toilet paper, towels and hand soap and dish washing soap. None of the necessities were provided and it was listed on their website which I missed. Thankfully, the manager of the property loaned us some kitchen towels and soap until we could make arrangements for our own. Quick trip to the Dollar General store.
I was also disappointed to learn that the sleeping quarters (the whole upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs) were not air conditioned as the website did state the unit was air conditioned. Thankfully we had a cooler week in August or it would have been miserable.
The Lodge is a large building which accommodated our family well. I would not say it felt clean due to the spider webs throughout and we discovered food in and under the couches. That might be why we discovered there were mice in the unit. Traps were provided and we caught three mice and a frog that entered not sure where.
Also, a water pipe leaked so one of the upstairs showers was unusable for our stay. This was not an overnight happening, so I am not sure why it was not discovered sooner. Manager tried to fix it himself to no avail and plumber was called and arrived to fix it the last night we were there.
The lake was beautiful. There were kyacks and floaties and paddle boats for our use for free. There were also sand toys for our little ones. An air compressor was available for our use to blow up our tubing toys which was very nice. Kids enjoyed jumping off the swimming raft and fishing from the dock. We had our boat and went fishing and had a lot of fun catching all kinds of pan fish. The lake has a sandy beach and a shady area to watch the kids from. There also was a small swing set which our 2 1/2 year olds (twins) enjoyed for hours.
I would recommend this property for the lakeshore and lake. The manager and owners are nice people. The Lodge is an older building that needs lots of work which the owners are taking on projects one at a time. It has great potential and we may be able to enjoy it when it gets there.
SPACIOUS CABIN - LOTS OF ROOM
We booked this cabin for the New Years Weekend. Ended up to be the coldest time of the winter so far. The 2nd floor bedroom area was warm for sleeping and showering, that was in the low 70's. The main level area was in the mid 60's for the temp during the day and would get to about 61 for the morning temp when we would come down to start the day. The kitchen area was cold all the time. I did not see a heat source in that area at all. We ended up with a group of only 15 that wanted to venture out during this cold snap, so we had tons of room. Would come back to enjoy this cabin at any time of the year but would like to have some more heat options during the winter months for the main level entertaining and kitchen areas.
Old man Winter was cruel during your stay, the heating system in Lodge was trying to make up a 100 degree difference between the 35 below outside and the 65 degrees inside! All areas of the Lodge are heated, but we did encounter some spots that were a little harder to keep warm - we have added portable heaters in those areas which are set to match the rest of the Lodge. Thanks for your feedback!
Awesome Family vacation spot!!
Great location, Great beach, had an awesome time
Thanks for your comments - please come and stay with us this winter and enjoy everything the area has to offer - shopping, antiquing, snowmobile trails and lots of open space on the lake for cross-country skiing! The Mielke's
My large family absolutely LOVES Fun at the Lakes. We were there in August of 2016 and will be back in 2017. The beach is fabulous with lots of sand for the "kids" to build castles, rivers and animals. The water is perfect for swimming, fishing, and cruising at sunset. Plenty of space inside and out for group play, or some private time. The kitchen with 3 refrigerators and 2 stoves is a good fit for a large family. It is clean and well cared for. No problems at all. Only sleeping comfortable, laughter, easy cooking, sun tans, fish, doing nothing or lots to do. Mostly sharing the family love. This year we are bringing in a country line dance instructor for a few hours. Can't wait!! We have found our, " One week summer vacation home". For 10 years we have looked for the perfect place and this is it. Thank you, Mielke family.
Thanks Fran! Thanks for your 2018 deposit, we look forward to seeing you and your family for many years to come! The Mielke's
Great Place for Your Family - this means you!
After spending some time at the Fun At the Lakes Resort I understand how great it is to stay at a place I feel comfortable in. The 12 bedroom lodge was spacious, kitchen and dining areas adequate for my large family and a great sandy beach to boot! A firepit at lakes edge, beach chairs, horseshoe pits and large grassy areas for games made our time pass by too quickly. They also have a 4 bedroom house and 2 bedroom lakeside cabin available on the same property. Try it you'll like it!
Ruben, Thanks for the kind comments, we try very hard to ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful vacation - sounds like we succeeded with your group! Look forward to seeing you and yours for many years to come! The Mielke's
Great value for large families and great beach area
Our extended family booked this resort for 2016 after having a great experience in 2015; it has a sandy beach that is perfect for spending hours in and close to the water with small children. We were very unhappy with the state of the resort in 2016, however we are happy to report that the owners were responsive to the issues and we are considering renting again this year. The resort offers a lot of amenities for the price when it is well maintained. Very relaxing setting with room for a lot of people.
Pam, Thanks for your suggestions and for booking in 2017 and for 2018! The Mielke's
Three golf courses within a half hour of property. Scenic area with lots of exploring and fun activities for the whole family! Great location for exploring Northern Minnesota! Property has excellent swimming for the kids (with raft), you can fish right off either dock we have a boat put-in on site (only one on lake) and plenty of parking. Lots of green grass for your outdoor games and friendly caretakers (on-site) to assist you with any questions about the resort amenities, fishing or questions about local area attractions.
