About Lyndsay Newman
We live in Bristol and have a rural family business in Somerset. I also work as a part-time community worker in Somerset. Our 2 children are now at West Country Universities. We enjoy spending as much time as we can at our cottage, walking, cycling, and visiting friends and family.
Lyndsay Newman purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Lyndsay Newman chose Sancreed
We both holidayed in Cornwall as children and my family moved to West Penwith 25 years ago. My mother lives in a nearby village. The sense of peace in Sancreed is magical, the views from the house are spectacular, and the surrounding area and beaches are wonderful. We can be at the beach in 10 minutes but also pop into Newlyn to stock up on fish in less than 10 minutes. We fell in love with the cottage when we saw it. It suits us perfectly.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The cottage gets flooded with light most of the day. It is south facing with great views. The rooms are attractively decorated with some original artwork on the walls. We love the gardens which surround the cottage too. The lane is so quiet you are far more likely to see a walker/cyclist/horse than a car!

Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay at Newington Farmhouse in Sancreed. We loved the character and the comfort of the house, and the garden and views were truly lovely. We couldn’t have wished for a better location from which to explore this stunning part of west Cornwall; stunning beaches, seaside towns such as St Ives and Penzance, beautiful little villages as well as St Michaels Mount and the Minack Theatre all within easy reach. We really, really want to return .
Thanks Jackie. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Newington. We aim to make it a relaxing and comfortable holiday home. Do come again. Lyndsay

Very practical cottage full of character. Very comfortable with lovely far reaching views and an interesting sunny garden. Loved our stay.
Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and found Newington Farmhouse comfortable and well equipped. We love the views too. Do come again. Lyndsay
Lovely old property in a very quiet location away from it all. House has everything you need.
Newington Farmhouse is the perfect place to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. It's equipped with everything you will need for your holidays. The garden is lovely to sit in with a glass of wine looking at the beautiful countryside. We also enjoyed many tasty BBQ 's in the garden. Our Labrador Charlie also enjoyed the garden and the sausages on the BBQ. Lyndsey the owner is so accommodating and helpful, nothing is to much trouble. Thank you Lyndsey.
A week at Newington Farmhouse
A lovely house in a nice position. Great garden which should be secure for most dogs and good views down to Mounts Bay.
The house is comfortable with everything you need and the bed is comfy - don't know about the other two bedrooms as they were not used!!
Only a short trip by car to the shops - main supermarkets in Penzance - about 15 minutes with "local" shops in Newlyn.
Thank you Geoff. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay despite challenging weather! We get a lot of comments about the comfy bed and views from the house. We would be very pleased if you ever wanted to return. Lyndsay
Excellent country retreat
Lovely spacious property with a large garden in a peaceful location. Beaches and local towns, Newlyn and Mousehole, all within an easy car ride.
Thanks Rachael, I am really glad that you enjoyed your stay and would be delighted if you wanted to return some day. Lyndsay
The village of Sancreed is in the Lands End peninsular and so is only a few miles from the expansive surf beach of Sennen on the north coast of Cornwall, yet it is also close to the sheltered coves of Porthcurno, Lamorna and Mousehole on the south coast. The Minack Theatre and St Michaels Mount are both located a few miles away. The fishing port of Newlyn with its vibrant harbour is just three miles away whilst the thriving market towns of Penzance and St Just are close by. St Ives is only a short drive away and is famous for the large artist's community and sandy beaches. For trips further afield Lands End airport flies regularly to the Scilly Isles. The village of Sancreed is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty making it a popular destination for walkers. The Holy Well, the Beacon, a stone circle and an Iron Age village are all within walking distance of the cottage. Guests enjoy the tranquillity of a cottage which is only a stone's throw from so many holiday activities. The recent film, Summer In Februaury, focuses on the lives of artists living in the area at the turn of the century. Indeed Florence Munnings, around whom the book and film centre, along with Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, are buried in Sancreed churyard.
