Ilikai Marina #386 (3-night minimum)

You'll enjoy beautiful ocean and Ala Wai Yacht Harbor views, and spectacular sunsets from this conveniently located one-bedroom condo (651 sq.ft. plus small lanai). On Friday nights, you'll have a front-row seat to the Hilton's fireworks!

This air-conditioned condo has tiled floors throughout. Your living room has a full-size convertible couch/sleeper sofa (will fit two young children or one adult), flat screen TV and DVD player, and ceiling fan. The beautifully upgraded full kitchen (with dishwasher) has a breakfast bar and stools. The bedroom has a NEW king bed (3/15) for your comfort; the bathroom has a tub/shower with hand-held shower wand.

Although there is no pool onsite, it’s just a short walk to the newly renovated Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon/Beach (rated Best Beach in the US in 2014 by beach authority "Dr. Beach"). Famous Ala Moana Shopping Center and beach park (with public tennis courts) and Waikiki Beach Walk with its many shops and restaurants are all close by. The Chart House restaurant is on the premises. Laundry facilities on site. This non-smoking accommodation sleeps 3-4 and is not affiliated with Ilikai Hotel. (10% discount for 30+ night reservations)

Parking, subject to availability, is $15-20/night (parking rates subject to change).

Condo was comfortable, with the exception of the bed which is creaky and slightly lumpy. The perhaps the lanai could have a small table and chairs like the other Lanais in the building. The rug under the coffee table/ foot rest is ugly and does not match anything in the lounge, perhaps a coral shade rug or paint the walls in a more neutral colour would help make the living area look a bit more 'up market?'

Overall, we enjoy staying at the Ilikai Marina. We have stayed there for the past two years for two to three weeks each time because it offers good value in a great location for us. We did, however, experience three problems---the refrigerator leaked water on the inside and had to be mopped up each day, there were ants in the bathroom, and the noise from the first floor restaurant and bar sometimes prevented us from sleeping---luckily it quieted down after 1 AM each (and every) night. These were not problems last year, so next year we hope these can be resolved.

Easy to check in, everything worked well. It was a pleasure to use the kitchen, as I must say, going out for dining is crazy. The prices at Waikiki-Beach are not from this world. Use the bus to visit Pearl Harbour, the Single ticket is $ 2,50. The busstop is close to the main street.

The arranging of the apartment was so easy, the paperwork easy and communication was excellent with Capitan Cook, The apartment itself was ok. Have stayed in the building one a year for around two weeks at a time for the past 7 years. This was the first time in this apartment and the first time on level 3. My advise DO NOT STAY ON LEVEL 3. The apartment itself was excellently clean and had everything you need no question about that. Coin operated laundry on level 8 $2.25 per wash and $2.25 per dry take your own powder, everything work well especially the fire alarms in the apartment that went off regularly when cooking toast as us aussies do for breakfast as well as at times when baking. The down side to level three is the noise and there is a lot of it. There is a night club on level two, which we were very much aware of but had no idea how noisy it was going to be and the noise did not stop at 10pm or 11pm but could be heard most nights up and until 3am and 4am. The noise was some music but usually people carrying on yelling etc. the bed was a king size but when you turned over duri8ng the night the noise the squeaking was disturbing. The internet was horrid and my two attempt to have it fixed did not work so I gave up. I could not hook up to the internet at all during my stay and the other person was constantly logged in and out by breaks in the continuous log in. There was plenty of clean linen sheets and towels, couple of soaps were left, and enough other basic cleaning essentials to get you started toilet paper etc so this was very good. as I said the apartment was very good but the things I have noted above that detract from your holiday have never happened in the other apartments I have stayed in previous years. Having said that this will not stop be returning to the Ilikai Marina but if apartment 386 was the only one available then I would stay elsewhere.
