Please note: I purchased this property 6 months ago and with the previous owner it had 52 5-Star reviews and 2 4-Star reviews. I would like to think it is better now than then, but I want you to understand why there are few reviews yet.
Conveniently located above downtown Gatlinburg, this mountain vacation condo has one of the most breathtaking elevated views of the Smoky Mountains and Ober Gatlinburg's ski slopes and tubing run. It Sleeps up to a maximum of 6 guests with two downstairs bedrooms, one with Queen size bed and one with twin beds, and a queen bed in the loft. All views are no less than spectacular from every window. The size of the unit is 946 square feet which is the largest condo unit in The Summit. This unit is on the 3rd floor which limits noise from other guests. The manager tells me she rarely has noise complaints from guests on the 3rd floor. Also the view is unforgettable. Note: This unit is on the third floor and there is no elevator. If you have mobility issues please note this. If not, get ready for an Unforgettable View.
The view from the cabin is great both day and night, especially in the winter. We have a good view of the ski slopes and the tubing runs in Ober Gatlinberg at night on the right and on the left you see the lights of Gatlinburg. In between you have Mt LeConte and several other mountain chains. I have set and looked at these for hours. For me three things led me to buy this condo, VIEW, comfort, location.
The Summit amenities includes hot tubs, indoor and outdoor pools, playground, and the game room and coin operated laundry. The condo has a small but well equipped kitchen with what is needed for preparing meals and eating. The dining table seats 4.
You can get to the condo from Pigeon Forge without going through downtown Gatlinburg. By using the bypass you avoid the congestion. We have traveled from Stoplight #8 in Pigeon Forge (the road to Dollywood and Splash Country) to the condo in less than 25 minutes using the bypass. From the condo going down to Gatlinburg takes less than 15 minutes. You can be in the National Park in a little over 20 minutes. To allow you to stay in contact the cabin has premium internet. This is much faster than the standard supplied by Summit.
