We visited Saluda, NC with friends on a cycling trip in 2012 and fell in love with the town's charm. It has so much to offer for adults and children. The natural beauty of the property surrounding this home is immeasurable! We hope you enjoy this home as much as we do.
Nea Poole purchased this house in 2013
Close to Saluda, Tryon, Asheville and Greenville. There is so much to do and see. Table Rock Park, Chimney Rock, and Biltmore are just a few. Take a trip to Greenville and visit Falls Park on the Reedy. Don't miss Downtown Saluda while you are here, It has the best restaurants and shops!
Send us a photo of your visit at the house that we will post on VRBO and we will give you a $25 Starbucks gift card!!
We enjoyed our stay in Saluda/Tryon, and Nea could not have been nicer. The house is nestled in the woods and very private. To get to the house, use GPS to follow the main roads thru Tryon, or using the exit for Saluda -- both are easy access to the neighborhood, and fun drives -- but once you get up the mountain, follow the owners' directions and you'll have no problem. Kitchen is well stocked, beds & linens are comfy, and the neighborhood is great for an evening stroll -- we saw wild turkeys several times, and saw some signs of bears (um... evidence on the road, if you know what I mean!) but never got to see one. We missed having a screen porch with a view (the view from back deck is of the wooded hollow/hillside; front deck view is of woods), and the house itself felt a bit closed in to us (more modern mountain homes tend to have larger windows for views, light). Still, in all this house is a great value if you're just nesting in for games and food, and doing day trips to nearby sites. Note that contrary to older reviews there is NOT a hot tub (it's not listed as such, but you might be mis-led by old reviews). Several good hikes not far away, and Saluda is very quaint & artsy. If eating out, you must try Postero in Hendersonville!
It was a Great experience, The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. It's very secluded and the views are breath taking. The drive up the mountain can be a little tricky if your not use to driving in that terrain. Try to visit Pearson's falls, its a lite to moderate hike to the top with a beautiful waterfall.
The owner is wonderful she will try to anwser any questions and help make your vacation a great experience.
Cabin was spacious and was very peaceful. Had all the amenities for staying if you just wanted to relax and enjoy the quiet. If there was a negative it would be that we could not control the air. The thermostat was locked at 89 degrees. There was a nice fire place that we used for the chilly evenings and mornings, but during the day it was in the eighties which made it uncomfortable to stay inside. The restaurants were a little hard to find with us not knowing our way around. I would rate our stay a 4 out of 5. I would recommend to a friend.
It was a beautiful house settled perfectly amongst lovely acreage near Hendersonville North Carolina. My family thoroughly enjoyed this quick weekend getaway and look forward to returning to the home again for other occasions. I can't speak highly enough about the management and ownership of this home. I accidentally left one of my bags at the house and they were extremely prompt and got it mailed overnight to me. Thank you so much!!
We spent the weekend before Christmas at this home and loved it! Four adults and three children (ages 5, 3 and 2) enjoyed every aspect of the stay. The house was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. There was plenty of space for us all to spread out, and sleeping options were plentiful. We loved sitting by the fire. Above all, we loved exploring the property. The steep hills, path and waterfall made it fun to explore. We would highly recommend this house and would definitely return to stay! We spent one morning in downtown Saluda and found it very charming and fun. The kids enjoyed the little playground, we loved our coffee from The Steamy Mug, and our delicious lunch at the Purple Onion. All were kid-friendly and delicious. Very charming! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
This rental is spacious, rustic, and well equipped for a week or weekend. We (2) stayed on the main floor but you could comfortably sleep 6-8 in this cabin. It was a beautiful 75 degree December weekend spent walking and visiting downtown Saluda and driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have stayed at numerous rentals in Saluda and can honestly say this was by far the cleanest and best equipped. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! Will visit again for sure!
The home is nestled between the historic towns of Saluda and Tyron and is about 25 minutes to Hendersonville and one hour to Ashville. This is the heart of the Blue Ridge and the outdoor activities are world class.
Cyclists travel from literally all over the world to ride in this area and you can too! George Hincapie has made the area famous as he lives and trains on the same roads and mountains. Visit his 5 star restaurant '17' named after his 17 tours de france!
Tyron has a rich equestrian history. The spring running of the Steeplechase is a popular annual event while there are nearly year-round horse shows at the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center.
Whether fishing, hiking, rafting, tubing, cycling, riding, or antiquing, eating and enjoying vineyards is your idea of a great get away, this is the cabin for you.
