The cabin is on Lake Tahoe's famous West Shore in the Sunnyside area and up against the Kent Nat. forest. The cabin looks over the forest and is very private as there are no homes in the back, only the forest.. The road in front has very light traffic and the whole neighborhood is very peaceful. Parking for 4 to 5 cars and full snow removal is automatically done in the winter. You can walk to our private beach which has benches, picnic tables, bar be cues, play ground, horseshoes, basketball & volleyball all on Lake Tahoe. Your can also walk to the famous Sunnyside Resort
There two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs and each has a queen size bed. There is a fireplace in the living room/family room and wood is provided. Upstairs there is a bathroom and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed. The other bedroom has a double bed and two single beds. The cabin can sleep up to 10. There is a full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and everything else that makes up a modern kitchen. One half of my rental business comes from past renters.
I have owned this super cabin since 1981 and am only the second owner. I love to ski at the ski areas around Lake Tahoe and so do my children. I graduated from So. Ill. University and moved to California after getting out of the army. I currently live in San Ramon, CA. I have always loved this cabin and rented it many times from Jim & Alice. When they told me they wanted to sell the cabin I drove to the bank as fast as I could and applied for a loan to purchase the property
Chuck McCormick purchased this cabin in 1981
This property has the best deck on the West Shore. The deck is in back of the cabin and up against the Nat. Forest which makes it very private. Many of my renters have written me telling me that they thought they 'were in heaven' during their stay. And they all loved the large sunny deck. About half of my rentals come from previous customers.
I keep the cabin in perfect condition and have made many improvements over the years. You will love vacationing here either in the winter, summer or fall.
The cabin is within walking distance of the famous Lake Tahoe and our association has a private beach right on the Lake Tahoe with a nice beach and grass area. All the amenities have been mentioned above.
Our family recently rented the Tahoe Park cabin for a small reunion. We had 5 adults and two children in the cabin and there was plenty of room for everyone. The cabin itself is clean and well-furnished with all the items needed for the week including all the cooking gear, plates, silverware etc.
We spent a great deal of time on the deck. It is outfitted with a large wooden picnic table and umbrella which we used for most meals. Also, there are several comfortable lounge chairs and seats which made it a great gathering spot.
The private beach area is a short walk away. We ended up driving there and parking as we had to bring all the beach toys, chairs, umbrellas etc that we like to use. The beach area is very nicely appointed and was enjoyed by our family.
There is a nice (safe) bike path that runs along the lake for some distance. We rode into Tahoe City for fun and shopping.
All in all, we were very pleased with our experience. The cabin is not fancy, but was a perfect family gathering location and we would love to return sometime in the future.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN LINEN AND CLEAN THE CABIN WHEN YOU LEAVE OR PAY A $150 FEE AND THE CABIN WILL BE CLEANED FOR YOU. ALSO, I DO NOT DO SKI LEASES OR LONG TERM RENTALS.
This great cabin has the best summer deck on the West Shore. Beach access (a private beach) is included with any rental and the beach offers picnic tables, bar be cues, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and a children's playground. Hiking, bicycling, river rafting, boat and jet ski rentals are within walking distance. Horseback riding and golfing are a short distant away. The famous Sunnyside Resort with a large deck on Lake Tahoe serving lunch and dinner is within walking distant from the cabin. You won't want to miss dinning at least once on this famous old lodge.
The cabin is a short drive to famous ski areas such as Homewood, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Northstar, Sugar Bowel and snowmobile rentals are near by as well. There is a great bike path along the West Shore and hiking trails all over the area.
