Situated close to the lively neighborhood of Ballard and 4 miles from downtown, this apartment is in a superb location! This apartment will be a tight fit for 5+, but there are air mattresses for groups who don't mind being in close quarters. Interior kitchen and bathroom feature Spanish-style painted tile. Hardwood floor in bedroom and tile in living area. Heating is managed centrally, but space heaters are provided in case it's too chilly!
This is a basement apartment. You will descend down a set of stairs and enter via keypad on the door. The entry code is provided at time of check-in, 3pm. It is very likely you will notice sound from the home above. It should not be excessively loud at any time, particularly during quiet hours (10pm-8am).
What makes Ballard unique is its rich Scandinavian heritage. Local media enjoys teasing that the neighborhood is full of slow drivers and everyone says, “Uff-da” with every sentence that is uttered. Neither is true of course and more respect is given at the Nordic Heritage Museum, but overall, Ballardites tend to have a good sense of humor. The neighborhood is also known for the being the home of restaurateur Chef Tom Douglas, the Ballard Locks, the Ballard Farmer’s Market and the beautiful parks and gardens. It is considered a very “walkable” neighborhood.
Street parking only, but it's a low traffic street and very easy. Uber to downtown in 15 minutes. The lively center of Ballard that includes great restaurants, bars, and music is ~1 mile away. Maybe too long to walk in rain, but would be fine on a sunny day. Public transportation is available.
