This magnificent house is located about half a block from the Golden Gate Yacht Club, the site of about half of the America's Cup events, and also the spectacular July 4th Fireworks Celebration. A group could happily enjoy festivities with little effort. One could participate by watching out the living room window, or a short stroll across the street would put you in the heart of the action.
My husband and I purchased this house many years ago and raised our children here. We loved the beauty and convenience of the location and the size and floor plan of the house. Meaning, the living areas are all on one level and the bedrooms on another, the garage enclosed below. After extensive re-modeling we intended to sell, but could not let it go! Since this is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city, we believe that others will enjoy the experience as much as we have, and decided to provide this opportunity.
Virginia S. purchased this house in 1996
The house is beautiful, very well decorated with beautiful artwork. it is close to everything. Safeway is 2 blocks away & many restaurants close by. The food trucks on Friday night was a plus. We loved the place & we know that we now have a home when visiting San Francisco.
This Marina home is in an ideal location for indoor or outdoor activities. I am a local San Franciscan and know the city very well. I picked Virginia's home because it's in one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco for travelers. My group of eight special friends were super happy residents here for a week. We had a fantastic time on new year eve in the house, cooking a large meal in the spacious kitchen, enjoying stunning views of the bay, strolling along the trails by the water, watching sunset near golden gate bridge. The house was tastefully decorated with many precious pieces of artworks, the living room and family room were gorgeous and comfortable. The holiday decorations everywhere added cheers and spirit to this warm environment. We had an unforgettable experience staying at this house. We would definitely looking to stay here again in the future!
Our stay in this Marina home delighted all. We spent the weekend with extended family celebrating a child's USF graduation, eating in or going out, visiting Ft. Mason and Marina district attractions, enjoying the stunning views of bay and Marina. The gracious proportions of the house were perfect for hosting the family and a few local visitors, as well. The owner had decorated for the holidays and laid in a few provisions to welcome us, too. The house is well designed to provide natural lighting in all of the rooms and multiple areas for different conversations and activities. A grocery store is half of a block away and Chestnut Street restaurants and shopping are near, as well.
I visited San Fran for a conference with colleagues and a delegation of startups from Toronto, Canada. Ginny's home, right across from the conference space was more than perfect for us. First of all it is a gorgeous, stately property, well situated, right on the water. It had everything that we needed for very comfortable night's rest, space to work, dash off and convene as a group. Ginny was also kind enough to make sure we had a few bites and snacks to get started as we arrived. As for amenities near by, the Safeway supermarket is a 3 minute walk away. There's restaurants and cafes about 7 minutes away and several of my group did early morning runs along the water/ exercised at the gym on the field across the house. Ginny was available on mobile if we had any questions.
Reserve this property next time you are in town!
A wonderful home in an amazing location, the Marina. Close to EVERYTHING's that great about San Francisco. The house is beautiful, close to hiking, tourist spots and night life. There's a Safeway about 2 blocks away for everything you need as well!
If you are looking for a classic and beautiful SF property, you can hardly do better than this lovely home. The location is perfect for families with the yacht club and park just across the street and the Safeway only two blocks away. The ambiance is comfortable luxury. The private garden below the sun deck is a bonus. Staying here was perfect for our family with very small children.
Distinctive and spacious, with Bay views from the living and dining rooms, this re-modeled 3-story home is in a prime SF location for locals and vacationers. Across the street from the Bay, a site of the America's Cup Sailboat Races, it features views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and Crissy Field. This single-family home is situated for maximal convenience for travelers. Safeway and Starbucks are one half block away. Within blocks are Ft. Mason, Chestnut and Union Streets, sites of many and award winning restaurants (Greens, A-16). Gary Danko's (Fisherman's Wharf area) is an amazing gourmet experience. 'Off-the-Grid' novelty food trucks rather for Friday Night public events at Ft. Mason Center, across the street, a block away. Sunday mornings at Ft. Mason feature a Farmer's Market, and at night, often, award winning plays at the Magic Theater. An outdoor public Fitness Center, located also across the street from the house is available 24 hours a day. Travelers can walk or rent bikes (Blazing Saddles, Chestnut St.) to see Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Aquatic Park (often site of the 'Iron-Man' or Alcatraz Swim events), the Golden Gate Bridge (have coffee a the Warming Hut on the way to visiting historical Fort Point Museum just under the Bridge). Along the way, see the Golden Gate and the St. Francis Yacht Clubs, and the Palace of Fine Arts. These sites can also be reached by taking the #28 bus from the bus stop around the corner. Additionally, the #30 bus goes to downtown SF. On the way, stop in historic North Beach ( Italian, Asian and seafood restaurants and shops, jazz clubs). While downtown, dine at the historic Westin St. Francis hotel and shop at Neimans, Norstrums or Macy's. Within blocks of the house there are also many small and beautiful park-playgounds for toddlers and small children. Garage and off-street parking are provided.
