Two families with children could enjoy their privacy, yet comfortably share amenities such as spacious breakfast and dining areas, living and master bed-room views of the Bay, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and Ft. Mason. For families, corporate executives, professional groups, wedding parties, this location is perhaps the most convenient in SF. This magnificent house is located about half a block from the Golden Gate Yacht Club, the site of about half of the America's Cup events, and also the spectacular July 4th Fireworks Celebration. A group could happily enjoy festivities with little effort. One could participate by watching out the living room window, or a short stroll across the street would put you in the heart of the action.
My husband and I purchased this house many years ago and raised our children here. We loved the beauty and convenience of the location and the size and floor plan of the house. Meaning, the living areas are all on one level and the bedrooms on another, the garage enclosed below. After extensive re-modeling we intended to sell, but could not let it go! Since this is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city, we believe that others will enjoy the experience as much as we have, and decided to provide this opportunity.
I also have a friend, Brian Tseng helping me as a co-manager for this property, so you also hear from him in response to any inquiries.
Virginia S./Brian Tseng purchased this house in 1996
My family stayed at this property between Christmas and New Years – we had a total of 10 people (two families of 4 and a set of grandparents). First, this location of this property is amazing. The house is within walking distance of so much – the grocery store, great restaurants, tennis courts, parks, Fisherman’s Warf, etc. The view from the windows in the front of the house is beautiful.
The house comfortably fit all of us. There was the master suite, which had a nice size bathroom, two very large closets, a futon couch and a beautiful view of the marina. Another room had a queen bed with a pull out sofa and a bathroom. A third room had a queen bed (very hard) with a twin bed. There is a fourth room with two twins. The third and fourth bedroom shared a small hallway bathroom. We had two cars between us, we parked one in the garage and the other in the driveway.
Unlike other VBRO properties I have stayed at, there wasn’t a write up with information about the property. However, the owner, Virginia, is very accessible when there are questions. For example, for the wifi there was just a slip of paper with some information on it but without full directions (like which network to connect to) so we had issues getting connected. When I texted Virginia she addressed it right away. So as long as you don’t mind texting her when you have questions, not having the write-up isn’t a problem.
I can see why one of the reviewers complained about the set up in the kitchen. While the kitchen is stocked with everything that you will need – it is a bit disorganized. For example, there were a variety of bowls but they were spread across two or three cabinets and on a variety of shelves – so it can take a while to find what you need. If you plan to do a lot of cooking during your stay, this may not be the house for you. But for breakfast and light cooking, it works just fine.
Overall, this is a beautiful house in an amazing location.
The house is beautiful, very well decorated with beautiful artwork. it is close to everything. Safeway is 2 blocks away & many restaurants close by. The food trucks on Friday night was a plus. We loved the place & we know that we now have a home when visiting San Francisco.
This Marina home is in an ideal location for indoor or outdoor activities. I am a local San Franciscan and know the city very well. I picked Virginia's home because it's in one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco for travelers. My group of eight special friends were super happy residents here for a week. We had a fantastic time on new year eve in the house, cooking a large meal in the spacious kitchen, enjoying stunning views of the bay, strolling along the trails by the water, watching sunset near golden gate bridge. The house was tastefully decorated with many precious pieces of artworks, the living room and family room were gorgeous and comfortable. The holiday decorations everywhere added cheers and spirit to this warm environment. We had an unforgettable experience staying at this house. We would definitely looking to stay here again in the future!
Our stay in this Marina home delighted all. We spent the weekend with extended family celebrating a child's USF graduation, eating in or going out, visiting Ft. Mason and Marina district attractions, enjoying the stunning views of bay and Marina. The gracious proportions of the house were perfect for hosting the family and a few local visitors, as well. The owner had decorated for the holidays and laid in a few provisions to welcome us, too. The house is well designed to provide natural lighting in all of the rooms and multiple areas for different conversations and activities. A grocery store is half of a block away and Chestnut Street restaurants and shopping are near, as well.
I visited San Fran for a conference with colleagues and a delegation of startups from Toronto, Canada. Ginny's home, right across from the conference space was more than perfect for us. First of all it is a gorgeous, stately property, well situated, right on the water. It had everything that we needed for very comfortable night's rest, space to work, dash off and convene as a group. Ginny was also kind enough to make sure we had a few bites and snacks to get started as we arrived. As for amenities near by, the Safeway supermarket is a 3 minute walk away. There's restaurants and cafes about 7 minutes away and several of my group did early morning runs along the water/ exercised at the gym on the field across the house. Ginny was available on mobile if we had any questions.
Reserve this property next time you are in town!
A wonderful home in an amazing location, the Marina. Close to EVERYTHING's that great about San Francisco. The house is beautiful, close to hiking, tourist spots and night life. There's a Safeway about 2 blocks away for everything you need as well!
