About David Libhart
I recently retired from teaching for the University of Phoenix.
David Libhart purchased this Condo in 2002
Why David Libhart chose Maalaea
I've lived in 4 places on Maui and this location is the best combination of central location, proximity to the ocean, and isolation.
What makes this Condo unique
I love that I can step outside my living room, plop down on a lounge chair, and read & relax--and get plenty of sun. And I'm usually alone. In the mornings, I jog along Maalaea Beach. It's just a little piece of paradise.

Close to many things
This was just right for us as we were not inside much but on many adventures. Kitchen was perfect for breakfast and coffee. Wifi for the phones and laptop. Not fancy but we were not in the condo all that much anyway. The bed was a little squishy.
Had a great time, condo was ok, could use some updates but worked fine. Nice location , parking was great !
Amazing property with a great view
A true bargain. Being able to watch humpback whales give birth from our patio was a memory we will never forget. Great unit for a couple. A little dated interior but a true bargain for the price point.
This property needs some inexpensive upgrades
Location and view...5 stars, unit furnishings and maintenance 1 star. Bed was wretched. Smoke detector hanging from ceiling by a wire, large gap around pipe in bathroom let in bugs and we killed two 4 inch long centipedes, highly venomous! Not one element matched another in the entire place. Uncomfortable, mismatched sofas. Minimal kitchen dishes, no dishwasher detergent, no eating table outside so you could enjoy meals on the lanai (just a tiny one for a drink). Plus side: gorgeous view of Ma'alaea Bay and Mt. Haleakala, rainbows, humpback whales, green sea turtles right out front, good jacuzzi, common area grounds well kept, geckos, birds, friendly neighbors, easy parking, close to Aquarium, airport, good eats, South shore, West Maui, Costco, Saturday Swap meet, snorkeling, beach combing, park nearby etc. This owner needs to bring the unit up to a more reasonable standard, especially by replacing the creaky, saggy, bed and sealing the hole in the bathroom! Having a low-end price is no excuse for failing to reinvest some profits into satisfactory maintenance and comfortable, if not esthetically pleasing, furnishings.
Bed replaced as of April 25, 2019. Will take care of all other maintenance gaps! But the 2 sofas will remain :-).
Great Location - Good Price
Central location for exploring the island. A little noisy with airplanes on approach to Kahului Airport. Easy access to Sugar Beach where you can walk for miles along coast. Also, right in front of this unit is a gate to a little piece of sand where you can watch the sea turtles swim. The accommodations were not fancy but quite adequate, in need of a little attention (the bathroom, in particular). Tub stopper did not work, so unable to take a bath. Hot water finicky and took a long time to heat; but, if you are patient, it does get hot. Biggest complaint - the shower liner needs, at the very least, a very thorough cleaning; however, at this point, replacement might be the better option. Very happy to have the washer and dryer which were in good repair.
Oh! Will ask the cleaning gal to replace the shower liner right away--thanks for the tip!!
Great view and location!
Loved the view, beach and location!
