This cozy little house sits right on Indian/Barnabee Lake. This lake is a quiet no motor lake that offers swimming, (with large floating dock in the center) boating, catch and release fishing (Trout, Bass, Pike). Great little fire pit is lovely on a cool night or any time you feel like a toasted marshmallow!
The house has a wrap around deck, is well decorated with a fully stocked kitchen, clean linens, and for your enjoyment, a canoe, row boat and paddle boat are available.
Ideal for a private couples get away, a small family retreat, or a group of friends to kick back and relax. Stay at home to BBQ or go into town for some fine dining and shopping. Play at home or go out and explore the nearby trails, rapids, and quaint little towns. There is plenty of parking for you and your guests.
This house has been in our family for 25 years and we purchased it from our in-laws in 2008 because they were selling and we couldnt let it go. We have four children who all grew up swimming there, skating there, skiing nearby, hiking trails...growing up like we wanted them to, in the great outdoors...spying on birds, snakes, deer and rabbits. At the same time we had all the comforts of home as we are not quite the 'rustic' types.
Rose Russo purchased this house in 2008
This property is great because it is SO EASY! The lake is literally off the back deck. The house is virtually maintanence free. Everything is on one floor (except for the ping pong table and foosball table in the basement along with the washer and dryer) The basement is unfinished but great in a pinch when you need to be inside.
The view of the lake from the living room, kitchen or dining area is terrific in every season at every time of day. Its a great place for summer BBQ and partys or winter festivities and skating.
The house was clean and the lake was nice. However we lost part of deposit because we left trash bagged in the kitchen and a bag on the porch. There was no outdoor trash can to deposit the trash. Also the door to the basement needed a child safety latch at the top. The stairs were steep and hazardous.
Also the owner of the cabin has been sending emails to me asking for us to wire them $2000 pounds, that they will pay back when they return to the country. I'm not sure if they were hacked, but it is very frustrating and uncalled for. And if they are hacked I do not appreciate having our information out there in the world.
Love this tiny lake - perfect for families. My 2 boys (10 & 8) were on the lake all day - fishing , pedal boating enjoying nature.
Well appointed home, which was very comfortable and peaceful. This setting earlier in the fall would be breathtaking. A rare find for the Catskills.
Great place! So convenient to Bethel Woods PAC and has all you would need for a relaxing weekend away. Hope to return soon.
My wife, our two and a half year old son and I spent an extended weekend here in September 2015, and it was not long enough for us! This place had all the elements for a relaxing vacation for us. The house is a beautiful, cozy house with just about everything we could need - down to fresh eggs in the fridge! Comfortable beds and very comfortable convertible couch in the living room. It is on the lake so all you have to do is step outside and saunter into the lake. There is a canoe, 2 paddle boats and several life jackets for adults and adolescents. There are fishing rods, indoor games etc. 2 swings outside, one being a tire swing, good sized fire pit and plenty of dry firewood. Plenty of seating space on the deck and a good sized grill. Basement has a ping pong table. I suppose you can keep a lot of people occupied with these, for a while. The lake is mostly shallow - which worked very well for us with little canoing experience and an active toddler in tow. The property was clean and Rose was always available on email/phone. We did not explore the area too much, but grocery is an easy drive, several eateries closeby too. Local park with trails if you do not want to drive much, if you do then there is no end to things. Would recommend without hesitation.
what an adorable cabin right ON lake Barnabee! very comfortable and lacked nothing for our long weekend visit. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any correspondence. The house is clean and has a lot of charm. You will feel right at home here! We hope to come back again!
The best part of being up here is being here at the house. Not far in any direction will bring you to fine dining, eagles nest, hiking trails, antiquing, concerts at Bethel Woods...so much to explore. We would recommend lunch or dinner at Rolling River Cafe in Parksville and a must see little town is Livingston Manor and Fly fishing capital Roscoe!
