Despite the pricing of my rental this is not just a 'room to lay your head at night'.Excellent location, full amenities, very clean is what you get.$90/night for a single and $15 each additional guest guarantees a spacious efficiency in a new 2 bedroom corner apartment right on the park.Room has refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker. There are also utensils/glasses/cups/plates in the room for your convenience. You have use of the main kitchen at all times and share the bathroom with just your solo host. There is a dishwasher for any cleanup and the whole apt is air conditioned with WIFI.Full closet and 3 arced windows facing south and west for amazing exposure to Morningside Park/Cathedral of St.John the Divine.5 minutes walk to Columbia University.Brand new queen size platform bed with a new air bed for a third guest/2 children.Although the room is non-smoking,I have access to the hall landing for smoker's convenience.Washer/Dryer on premesis.10 minute walk from Central Park and the Harlem Meer. This is one of the most desirable areas in upper Manhattan with our own new 'Restaurant Row'of Harlem/Morningside.The subway(b/c) is 2 blocks away and there is a fantastic supermarket(Best Yet) about 5 minutes walk. This is the apex of residential living with all the trappings of nightlife and convenience right around the corner. If you are culturally intrigued, you only have to walk 3 blocks to the best Sunday Gospel Churches and the African Market is not much farther. If your aspirations are for midtown/downtown,the train gets you where you need to go in 20 minutes. Please inquire as I do offer discounts for week or more stays.I am also pet freindly and your host dog Lucky is the star of my reviews. This is as close as you can come to having your own studio for a hostel price and you will want for nothing

Why Alex Meyer chose Harlem
The area here is one of the last laid back residential feeling areas in upper Manhattan which had proximity to all the things I cherish(parks, museums,Columbia U).I wanted to be part of a neighborhood that has flavor and is growing with out being sterilized.Could'nt be happier in Manhattan
What makes this Apartment unique
My apartment has many arced windows, roof access and a view to the Americas largest Cathedral right from the studio Bay window. The Park is directly across the street and Central Park a stone's throw.I enjoy that it is a new building with the old style charm from the outside without all the slapped together feeling you get in most affordable coops in the city.

Clean and comfortable room. Mr. Alex was friendly and helpful. I recommend this place without hesitation.
This was a charming and endearing couple.I would phrase it the same that you can book them without hesitation!
Great place to stay with a friendly and accommodating host
My daughter and I had a great stay at Alex's place. It was our first time in New York and Alex was very helpful answering all of my questions. We felt safe and the location was convenient. Walk to subway, restaurants, park, Columbia University, Central Park North, and more! Be prepared for 5 flights of stairs (with no elevator) up to the apartment. I looked at it as a kickstart to my exercise program and embraced the activity. Thanks for a great time in New York, Alex!
Bathroom was dirty. Tub had black stuff in the corners. Fridge had food particles left over in it. House smelled like dog. Bed was very comfy though only think I really liked about it.
Our thread shows that I remotely arranged for last minute cleaning service for a $90/night room after a request, cancellation and then subsequent reconfirmation by you while I was out of town.I am normally there to recieve guests/confirm the standards and open windows/run air conditioning in the middle of Summer. You stated that you understood and even booked an additional night. After cancelling and trying to get a refund for a "family emergency" at 3 pm in the afternoon 5 hours after the checkout time of the second day I still honored you a one night credit good for one year.Ironically I am now getting this bad review.I am part of a small group of hosts who provide this low price in prime location for last minute and strict budget travelers. This in a boro where the average yearly lease rent on a daily basis is above what I charge my guests with full amenities. It's these rare anomalies that remind me why most hosts don't bother.
Alex was very helpful..and flexible for check in and out.The location was very convenient to the public transportation system..
Wow! We enjoyed every minute of this place. Affordable accommodations with Alex as you concierge!
My two daughters and I stayed here. Alex, is an amazing host with great suggestions on affordable places to go in the city. Perfect location to major subway lines. Great places to see in the neighborhood too. Highly recommended for 2. 3 works but tight. We made it work and had a blast! Thanks Alex!!!!
Clean, comfortable, felt right at home.
Alex is a great host, with several recommendations to make your visit enjoyable without breaking the bank. He was thoughtful about making my stay go smoothly, and very responsive by text to coordinate everything for my arrival. Room is homey & perfect for an affordable option to visit the city. Lucky, the dog, is friendly as can be but very much keeps to himself. The only concern for some might be climbing the stairs to the 5th floor. Would absolutely book again & recommend to friends.
Walking distance to Columbia University and Central Park.Located directly on Morningside Park with Concerts and events throughout Spring/Summer/Fall.Museums all in walking distance(Met,Natural History)
