About the property

THE HIDEAWAY

Our newly renovated hideaway is located on a 600 acre working farm. A short distance off of Route 100 and up the hill past the farm, you will find a country oasis where privacy, nature and the true feeling of Vermont will be yours during your stay.

This property offers “private” hiking year round and snow shoeing on farm roads and open snow-covered fields. Randall Lineback cows and calves graze the pastures. No matter the season breathtaking views will guarantee fabulous opportunities for any beginner or professional photographer. Snowmobile enthusiasts need only travel up the road to find VAST trails groomed and ready for a day of winter fun. If your visit is during maple sugaring time, visit our sugarhouse where sap is made into syrup the old fashioned way.

This location offers easy access to Mt Snow (8 min) and Stratton (10 min) ski resorts where golf, tennis and other activities are available as well as boutique shopping and fine dining.

If you’re simply looking to relax during your stay, the Wardsboro Country Store is 2 minutes away, offering choices of fine meats, wines and locally baked goods that will surely satisfy any cravings.

We offer free Wi-Fi internet access. The living room features a Smart flat screen TV. In the master bedroom there is an additional flat screen TV with a built in DVD player.

The kitchen is furnished with utensils, dishes, cookware, microwave, toaster and coffeepot.

Other nearby attractions include:

Wilmington, VT (15 miles) offers shopping and great restaurant choices. Dots, a town landmark, is the place to enjoy a full country breakfast of pancakes, muffins and egg creations.

Manchester, VT, a bit farther (35 minutes), offers outlet shopping and a variety of restaurants. Weston, VT ( 24 miles) is the home of The Country Store where shopping will prove a new experience for all!!

OUR PRIVATE PERKS

It is our pleasure to provide a jug of Newell’s Pure Vermont Maple Syrup for your breakfast enjoyment. Try it on your pancakes, in your coffee instead of sugar, on ice cream or right out of the jug! Add a drizzle to oil and vinegar on your salad to create a truly unique flavor and it is also a must add to your butternut squash.

The Stratton Parsonage, located at 685 Stratton Arlington Road in Stratton VT (3 miles), offers home furnishings, dry goods and gifts. A 20% discount will be honored on one in-stock item (excluding syrup) purchased by you or your guests. In this newly opened shop, you will find country decor mixed with urban selections to create a unique setting in your home.

Home with gorgeus interior

  • 5 of 5

The interior of the house is absolutely gorgeous. It was designed with attention to every detail. The house has a countryside atmosphere. Our kids loved brand new board games provided by the owners. The home is very conveniently located between two mountain resorts: Stratton and Mt. Snow. The owners are also very kind. When, we arrived almost in the midnight during the freezing rain, it was not easy to locate the home, as GPS provided a wrong location, but the owner despite the very late hour, immediately spotted us with car, and brought us up to the house. In the house, there was waiting for us a fully equipped kitchen, with a bonus of home-made maple cookies and pancakes. Then, the owner plowed the front yard every day, even in the middle of the snowstorm, so it was no problem to park the car and to drive out. When, the last day our kid got fever, the owner immediately provided us a thermometer and medicine, which allowed us to make a proper decision. Summing up, our stay at Hideway was terrific and we strongly recommend this place to stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you Miroslaw. It was a pleasure to have you stay as well. I wanted to make sure that everything was in good order and you have confirmed that in your review. I want to thank you for leaving everything in absolutely perfect order. It was as though no one had stayed!!! I am happy that I could be of help too with your son not feeling well. I hope that he is better today. Please know that I would love for you to visit again, perhaps in the fall when the trees change and the views are so beautiful. Vermont is definitely a place that has many seasonal faces to share with visitors. Happy New Year to you and your family. I wish you all good things in the days and months ahead.

Cozy VT home

  • 5 of 5

This home is cozy, clean and as described - perfect for our family of 4 to come back and relax to after spending the day on the slopes. The owners are kind, thoughtful and responsive! We loved their homemade maple syrup with pancakes and the hot chocolate they left for us. My daughters also loved playing in the yard as well as playing cards and games left in the living room. We would love to return!

Owner's Response: We were happy to have Rebecca and her family stay at The Hideaway. In reading her response to their time visiting our neck of the woods, I was pleased that her daughters enjoyed playing outdoors. Being away from the road and traffic makes it a home that is safe, fun and worry free for the parents. Rebecca left everything in excellent order and the house guidelines were followed during their stay. We would love to have them visit again and will welcome them any time.
