We were totally pleased beyond our expectations, a fantastic private location with all the amenities supplied for a comfortable stay. Canoeing ,swimming, fishing right at your doorstep.
Laura and Blaine were great hosts , very accommodating , with emphasis on making sure we had everything needed to have one of the best vacations we have had.
We have used VRBO numerous times and this experience was the best we have had. I would highly recommend this for any couple who wants to have a total relaxing vacation.
Ditto for you two. The dogs are still looking for you Cheri. Grover is SAD.
My husband and I spent 3 nights at Laura and Blaine's "bunkhouse". The cottage was very clean, comfortable and perfect for 2 people looking for a relaxing getaway. It was equipped with every amenity you could possibly need. We enjoyed swimming, relaxing and canoeing. It is close to Camden and Rockland Maine if you choose to leave the peace and serenity of the cottage. Laura responded to all our inquiries in a timely manner. We look forward to another visit.
Perfect Couples Getaway
We had a wonderful vacation at Laura's cute lake cabin. She is a great host with a wealth of knowledge about the area and fun things to do. The cabin is well appointed and cozy. You walk right out of the sliding door and you are standing at the shore of the pond. We took the canoe out and had a nice paddle around the pond. There is a great floating dock with a swim ladder that came in handy during these hot summer days. I highly recommend this property for any couple wanting to get away.
Comfortable and very well put together
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The cottage was clean and cozy. Lovely lake setting.
Such a lovely place
This cabin was the perfect Maine weekend retreat. We only had a few days in Maine and while we wanted to see more of the state, we could hardly tear ourselves away from this lovely lakeside cottage. Laura is an interior designer and she and her husband Blane, created a comfortable, colorful elegance--right at the edge of a serene lake. If you like fresh water lakes as we do, you will be in heaven. In the early morning we watched loons while we drank coffee in front of a huge picture window. By mid-morning, we were ready to take a swim in the clear water. We toured the area just a bit--Union and Hope are small and not that interesting, but a lovely harbor town of Camden is only 15-20 minutes away. The next day we cancelled our hiking plans so we only left the lake to buy more wine. Laura even bought a fishing pole for my husband to use, and we went out in the rowboat morning and evening. The rest of the day we rested lakeside in the huge wicker chairs in a pretty garden. An idyllic retreat.
Couldn’t get closer to the water! The cabin was clean and welcoming. It was just perfect. Laura and Blaine were there to greet us and give us tips on places to go, restaurants to visit and side roads to take. We enjoyed morning coffee on the dock and a canoe ride in the peaceful lake.
This place is a true gem!!
3 minutes from Route 17 which takes you into Camden, Rockport or Rockland to all kinds of diversions
