secluded getaway

Beautiful light filled home; immaculate; stocked with everything we needed to make our week a delight. Located on the grounds of the Petrified Forest, surrounded by trees and wildlife, it made a relaxing, convenient retreat from the hustle bustle of nearby Calistoga. A big plus for us, was the home's proximity to the Triple S Ranch, the location of our daughter's wedding. All this AND super comfy beds...couldn't ask for more.

Very Enjoyable Stay

  • 5 of 5

A very serene and quite environment, on the Petrified Forest Road between Santa Rosa and Calistoga (a bit closer to the latter), and very central to both Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The house was very clean and spacious ; there were only two of use, but can easy handle a family or 2-3 couples. The house was very well appointed with lots of items in the kitchen (both cooking utensils and misc condiments), plus numerous old CDs and DVDs to lean on to feed the need if required. Lots of reading time otherwise. Nature (animals) close by (deer grazing in the front lawn and quail scurrying about). The Petrified Forest is next door if you desire, or a shirt drive to the town of Calistoga. Would recommend the better part of a week or more, if possible.

Wonderful private retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Spacious and well-stocked! The pictures don't do justice in revealing how spacious the living room, dining room, kitchen open space is. Our group of 5 adults and 2 young kids never felt crowded. Lots of closet space, too, with plenty of hangers and extra towels, blankets, and pillows. The decor is beautiful with gorgeous wood flooring throughout. There is a fireplace inside the dining/living room. There is also a central outdoor patio in this U-shaped house, with furniture and firepit. Logs were supplied and perfect for a evening of s'mores making and fireside chat. We loved the beautiful fall colors of the trees in front of the house!

We were pleasantly surprised that the house was stocked with hand/dish soap, paper towels, plastic wrap, Ziploc bags, hair dryer, iron, shampoo, and shower gel. Everything was clean, including the utensils and dinnerware. The kitchen is modern and well stocked. The bathrooms however are a bit outdated in comparison, and water pressure in the shower is a bit weak. However, it was comfortable, beautiful, overall we were very pleased with our stay. We definitely want to come back for future stays.
