Beautiful log cabin overlooking 10th hole of Fountains Golf Course at Garland Resort. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, completely furnished unit.
Northern Michigan's favorite destination with four elegant championship golf courses. Great for a guy's weekend, family fun, or a romantic getaway of biking, hiking, swimming, or just enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Our property has rustic sophistication and log cabin charm.
Was so happy with the cabin. My family of five enjoyed our stay. Very clean. Easy to find. Close to garland where we had a family wedding.Enjoyed the porch over looking the golf course. Would go back again.
Perfect for our group to stay during sno-drift rally, comfortable wish it was little closer to activities we were doing but was by far best cabin so far been coming up for 10 years now
Garland is one of the most beautiful pieces of property in Michigan. This cottage rental was just was my husband and I were looking for. Our lives are very busy and when we can get away we like to find a quiet relaxing setting. The cottage is very nice. Fully equipped. Very Clean Parking is close to the door and even though you have cottages close by they are situated on the lots were you really aren't bothered by your neighbors. The Lewiston area has some great quirky restaurants. The Villager where the waitress greets everyone by their first names, and Talleys the best bar burgers in the state! Be sure to order 2 or 3 they are very good.
This was our first visit to Garland. My daughter went into the lodge to ask for directions to the pool. She was informed by Garland staff at the lodge that we were not allowed access to the pool or hot tub or other amenities without a specific key given to members or being accompanied by that member and their key. They explained although the owner owns a cottage, only members of Garland were allowed access to all of the amenities. I called Pat and she explained that two years ago Garland was purchased by another owner. She confirmed she was not a member but that Garland does not monitor the pool and we could simply walk in and use it. That put us as guests in an uncomfortable situation. We could not access the hot tub because there is a lock on it and we didn't have a key. We drove to a lake nearby for the kids to swim. The cottage is across a busy highway and quite far from all the amenities including the lodge. You need to drive or have access to a golf cart to get to the pool, lodge, tennis courts, etc. Also, we could not access the internet and we could only use our phones if we stood in front of the cottage by the road. Even then, service was sketchy and calls dropped. If I had known we couldn't use the indoor pool or hot tub and would need to sneak into the outdoor pool if we were to use it, I would have decided on another venue or rented a unit from Garland directly because of my three young grandchildren and two daughters that I was traveling with. The time to inform guests of the Garland situation is before they rent the unit, not after they have un packed and settled in. If you rent this unit, clarify with Garland what amenities you are entitled to access. The cottage itself is cute and clean. Overlooking the golf coarse was relaxing. Despite not being able to use the amenities, we are a group that makes the best of any situation.
The cottage worked perfect for 6 men, riding ATV's. Literally, we parked next to the unit, and could ride the quads west and right onto the snowmobile trails. These were some of the best trails in the Lower Peninsula; nearly rivaling the best trails in the UP. Don't tell anyone else, we want to keep this place and these trails as our own little secret. Lewiston Lodge had the best ribs I have ever feasted upon, and the burgers and wedges at Talley's also exceeded expectations. All in all, a great weekend!
