A quaint home- relaxing and clean with a breathtaking view !

  • 5 of 5

This home hit all the marks. In order of importance, it was very clean, in a gorgeous setting, had wifi, AC, cable with tv's in each room, linens and towels provided, a fully stocked kitchen, and even some toys and games.

My kids loved the location, nestled in the side of a cliff win stairs leading down to trails. There was a creek and a river for exploring, and a short walk to a swimming hole. We really wanted for nothing in this house, everything was provided and was clean and comfortable. The rustic cabin was full of personality. I definitely would recommend this spot to anyone!! Gary, the owner was helpful and attentive to our needs.

Pretty and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cabin VERY last minute when we had to move people around for a wedding. It was very comfortable and very clean and had everything needed, including wifi. The back deck is fabulous! Overlooking a small river, you can sit out there for hours and enjoy the woods and the sound of the water rushing below. It is also close enough to the road so there is no worry about driving on gravel for those who don't like that, or some of the other mountain roads in the area which can be challenging without AWD. And yet there is plenty of peace and quiet. I would love to go back to this cabin in the fall--or any time! Gary is very helpful and keeps himself available, which is the reason we were able to get this cabin last minute and save the day after we found out we needed to move the wedding party, from a place owned by someone else, to his other, larger cabin Mountain Paradise, which is truly delightful.

A special little stone cabin, beautiful wood throughout, wonderful back deck view.

  • 4 of 5

This was a well built stone cabin, very clean and beautiful wood throughout from the walls to the beds. Very comfortable with a wonderful view looking down on foliage and creeks from the back deck. The back deck had comfortable chairs and a really nice swing for two. We were surprised at how close to the road the cabin was. Sitting in the living room with the TV on you could not hear any road noise, but in the master bedroom with everything quiet you could hear any vehicles that passed...the good news was that in the evening there really isn't much traffic. We were concerned about it, but found that over the 3 days we were there we really didn't notice it - we did sleep in the back bedroom facing the deck though. This was a nice sized room with queen bed and a sliding door onto the deck. The cabin has all the amenities you need with plenty of towels in the bathroom. We did have one suggestion - the microwave is on a shelf a bit high up. I am 5'5" and had to reach up to it which could be a safety issue when taking hot things out of it, perhaps putting it somewhere a little lower...or maybe I'm just a little too short ;-). The owner was great and the cabin was exceptional inside and out with a wonderful walkway/path out and down to the foliage and creeks for a pretty and peaceful walk. Halfway down the walkway is a really pretty and unique area to sit and look down at everything. As you continue down you come to a path that takes you along the creek for a really nice walk. He also built a patio with an area to sit and cookout. The owner was super friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us and we appreciate it. We highly recommend both the cabin and the owner. It's a short drive to Harrisonburg, Staunton and Lexington. Plenty of restaurants, museums and other activities to occupy your time...we also just enjoyed relaxing at the cabin!

Thanks for a restful and comfortable stay ;-).

Cozy Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is cozy with all the amenities you need to enjoy your getaway. The property is located just north of Harrisonburg and right next to a local swimming hole. There is a walkway with pavers down to the river below and you can view the beautiful scenery from the large back deck. The owner was accommodating to our needs in every way and very polite. I can not say enough about the hospitality that he showed us. We hope to visit again soon.

Loved Pine Cliffs

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cabin. It was just what we needed to wind down from our hectic city living life! Sitting on the deck listening to the sound of not one river, but a river and a small stream as well, was music to our souls. It felt like being in a luxury tree house looking out the back and off of the cliff side, but very secure on huge boulders and some of the tallest trees in Virginia! The house is very clean, with a beautiful wood beamed ceiling in the living area. The hand-crafted wooden furniture pieces are a great touch as are the natural edged wooden counter tops! All in all a wonderful experience.

Beautiful property, close enough to town

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property, and close enough to town. Great home away from home, spent a week and had to drag the kids out. Many creature comforts and can't beat falling asleep to the sounds of the river below!
