Three bedrooms 2.5 bath this home must be seen to believe. Your own private sanctuary. This would be a great home for couples to share. It is a great design to entertain. Every where you look from my paintings to all the little details you will be greatly surprised. You will be so happy with your choice. This home is bright, fun, and whimsical. And for cocktails and food, the Petoskey Brewery is just a few staggering steps away.
Artist and Hairdresser, I have taken great pride with this home. I request you take your time to enjoy all the little details I have created.
Richard Pickett purchased this house in 2001
Everything in this home has been updated. Furniture, mattresses, linens, towels, down to the potato peeler, every thing is new. Pictures of this lovely home doesn't quite capture.
Stained glass windows from Harbor Springs First Presbyterian Church are over 120 years old. Fire pit for hot dog and marshmallows. Sit and rock your cares away on the patio by the lake. Simply beautiful!
The house is phenomenal, immaculate and very relaxing. Its tough to stay awake in the yard staring at the water. Lots of great naps. The weather wasn't so good but the house kept the trip great! With petosky brewery just a few steps away, you don't even have to get in the car to have a great craft beer and some food. Short drive to many northern michigan towns and the UP. Would definitely recommend this to anybody!!!
The pictures don't do the house enough justice. It's really great and my whole family enjoyed the unique paintings, statues and decor. Will be returning and would recommend to anyone.
This house is even more visually interesting than it appears in the pictures. It is also spacious and comfortable. The outdoor space is an added bonus -- we spent quiet, sunny afternoons reading out on the patio by the lake and evenings chatting under the stars. The location is near a main road and a major bike path, but because of the siting of the house right on a lake it is also very quiet and private. Finally, the owner was extremely responsive and easy to deal with. The only cautionary notes: Be careful of the step down from the master bedroom (takes some getting used to) and the metal ridge that separates the tile in the kitchen and the carpet in the den (good place to twist an ankle, as one of us did). Overall, a unique, beautiful, comfortable, quiet property that our party of two couples enjoyed immensely. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful, peaceful setting. Landscaping was beautiful, the house was very uniquely decorated and featured several beautiful oil paintings by the home owner, as well as other artists. A word I might use to describe the décor would be "eclectic". When I had occasion to speak with the owner, he was extremely polite and helpful. I would definitely consider returning.
WOW! What a place.
We were a group of three couples in the area for a wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor. This house was a great choice! Plenty of room for us all, and so beautifully decorated. A treat for the eyes, and not just for the ladies, our husbands were impressed also.
The location worked out very well too. Approximately 15 minutes from the wedding, Petoskey State Park about 5 minutes down the road (great beach area) and the bike/walking path goes right by the house!
We enjoyed breakfast on the patio in the mornings, and spent time around the fire pit relaxing in the evenings. You must take the time to enjoy every room in the house and take in all the details of the decor. The Master Bedroom and Bath were stunning - good luck deciding which lucky couple gets that room :)
The owner was great to work with, responding quickly to any questions we had. Thank you for sharing your lovely home, we are already talking about going back up for a fall trip.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this one of a kind house filled with beautiful art and lovely furnishings. The patio area is very serene, from breakfast through evening cocktails. Plenty of wonderful walking trails right out the door and within walking distance to the beach. The house was very clean and well maintained. The owners were also very pleasant to deal with.
During your stay you might want to visit: The historic downtown gaslight districk in Petoskey (Named one of America's best small tows in 2013 by Smithsonian Magazine) located on the bay it offers unique shops, bars & restaurants. Enjoy a leisurely day at the beach at Petoskey State Park. Quaint & charming Harbor Springs just a few miles away is also a must see. Mackinac City / Mackinac Island is only a 40 minute drive away and would make for a wonderful day trip. Explore the streets & Victorian historical homes of Bay View. All these are among many other adventures awaiting you.
