Crest Estates Cabin Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom, 1 bath Heritage cabin nestled in the trees perfect for 2 people

The 'Wildflower' is a Lake Arrowhead Heritage cabin built in the 1920s. Originally used as housing for the U.S. Forest Service, it is now our family cabin for the last 25 years and we would love to share with you! The Wildflower has beautiful knotty pine walls throughout, wide plank wood floors and the original brick fireplace. You will love spending snowy winter nights next to a roaring fire in the fireplace watching movies. Or, there is nothing better than enjoying drinks and having starters on the deck in the summer while taking in the nature that surrounds the cabin. Treat yourself and cook a romantic, gourmet meal in our vintage kitchen on the Wedgwood stove. Or, why not read a book in the loft if you just feel like relaxing and doing nothing. For those who love to be on the go, take a walk right out your door through the beautiful streets of Crest Estates which has lots of nature and beautiful trees. There is also the Heaps Peak Arboretum nearby that our guest love and we have "Lake Rights," so you can have access to the trails around the lake and the beach clubs. You will have an incredible nights sleep on the super comfortable queen bed and return home refreshed after your stay here. For those who prefer to be in touch we have high speed wifi. The Wildflower Cabin has a plethora of birds that you can watch all day long as they feed and enjoy the bird bath and feeders out front. We have a book on birds so you can read about each one. If this lovely cabin is reserved, please consider our new cabin, the pristine, incredible “Songbird Cabin,” also just for couples. Please type 788627 in the search box above to find it. Or, email me if you have questions.

The Cabin’s location is key, just off Hwy 18 and 173 in the Crest Estates. The Wildflower Cabin is 1.5 miles, a 3 minute drive or a nice long hike to Lake Arrowhead and The Lake Arrowhead Village where there is shopping and many restaurants to choose from. There is also a movie theater and dinner theater, The Tutor house close by. With easy proximity to the main highway you can get up and down the hill quickly or head on to Snow Valley and Snow Summit for a day of skiing or snow boarding.

The 'Wildflower Cabin,' is a real gem, there is nothing like it on the Mountain. See for yourself and come up for a stay. Lake Arrowhead is an all season resort town. Our guest love the warm summer nights, romantic fall with the change of colors, the winter for the wonderland it becomes with snow and the the beautiful new beginnings spring brings. 'The Wildflower,' has been uniquely designed and remodeled keeping all of the original details made into the perfect place for couples, honeymooner's, babymooner's, mom and daughter, sister, best friends, engagements, artist and writers escapes. If your looking for solitude, privacy and lots of nature, this is the place for you. We hope you will come back and stay in our cabin again and again.

Lake Arrowhead is a private lake. To have access to the lake, property owners must have "Lake Rights". We are fortunate to be members of the Arrowhead Lake Association and thus affording our cabin "Lake Rights". "Lake Rights," gives you access to hike the trails around the lake and to use the two beach clubs for Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Email me if you have any questions.

About Jolene Clarke

The Clarke family is the second generation to own this one of a kind, historic charmer. The original owner was my mother, Jolene Smith, who fulfilled her dream of having a weekend cabin in Lake Arrowhead in 1995. She loved the yearly wildflowers that surround the cabin, thus the name. Sadly, my mom passed away in 2009. We are forever grateful that she left us with so many great memories and also her most prized possession, The Wildflower Cabin. About us, Gary is from New Jersey and had a career in Medicine and retired in 1999. Me, Jolene, named after my mom, I am a native Californian who grew up 'down the hill,' in Redlands. I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I received a degree in Interior Design and a teaching credential. I taught Middle School Consumer Economics for 10 years and have worked as and Interior Designer in California, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We now live in Tamarindo, Costa Rica where we own and operate our family business, Villa Andalucia Designer Hotel. Our son Brooks, who has spent most of his life growing up in Costa Rica, works with us. Brooks is our amazing tour guide, boat Capitan and surf instructor. Brooks is also an incredible fly and real fisherman, free diver and all around waterman. Brooks is the Capitan of the “Pica Pica.” in Tamarindo. We are a family run business, come see us in Tamarindo if you ever decide to put Costa Rica on your vacation destination list, we would love to have you. Hospitality is what we do!

Jolene Clarke purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Jolene Clarke chose Lake Arrowhead

It’s no accident that Lake Arrowhead is the getaway choice for Southern Californians and vacationers from around the word. I have been coming here since I was a child and have so many great memories. I am thrilled that I have a small retreat for two to enjoy and love staying here myself on our vacations. There is nothing more beautiful than the Alpine styled village covered in snow in the winter or the glistening sun on Lake Arrowhead in the summer. Come see for yourself.

What makes this cabin unique

When I drive up and see The Wildflower Cabin it puts a huge smile on my face, I know it will do the same for you. With one bedroom and one bath this cabin is perfect for two people. The best part is that it is a single story with no stairs to climb! I love having the dutch door open and hearing the birds sing in the trees. There is nothing better than cooking up pancakes on the griddle on a cold winter morning with a fresh brewed cup of Costa Rican coffee that I leave for our guest to enjoy. The location is perfect as you can be anywhere, the lake, golf, antiquing, hiking, fishing and skiing or snowboarding in just minutes.

An amazing getaway

  • 5 of 5

I'm not much for giving reviews, but I thought this was worth the exception. This little two person cabin was not only perfect, but so was the neighborhood, the location and the amenities provided by the owners. Lake Arrowhead is so beautiful and the village which is only a few minutes from the cabin has everything you would want. I especially want to thank Jolene for her communication to us and her concern for our (including our 6 month old puppy) enjoyment with the cabin. She is truly a great hostess and a fantastic person. If we ever get to Costa Rica, we might look you up. The last thing I can say about the cabin experience is that my wife loved it so much she immediately went to a local real estate to see if we could find one for ourselves. I'm not so sure this is a good thing....

Exceeds Expectations!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the cabin for our honeymoon and enjoyed every moment! It was very clean and had everything we needed! The stove was perfect with the griddle in the middle, which we used quite often. We enjoyed having breakfast every morning on the patio and reading upstairs in the loft. We loved two restaurant that we located in Skyforest, the next town over, called LouEddie's (pizza) and Hortencia's Mexican Grill. It's a 5 minute drive and they are located next to each other with fabulous outdoor patios. We also loved Lake Arrowhead Village by the lake. It had a lot of nice shops to browse through and a walking path around part of the perimeter of the lake. The best part about our trip was that the cabin was private and relaxing. Thank you Jolene for such a wonderful stay, for being so kind, and easy to contact! We would love to plan a trip back in the future.

Owner's Response: Elisabeth, The pleasure was all ours for you to spend you honeymoon in our cabin. I think Lake Arrowhead is such a romantic place to start of your marriage. Glad to hear you enjoy the Pizza at Lou Eddies and my fav Hortencia's and the peacefulness that surrounds our cabin. You discovered my favorite thing in the cabin, the griddle on the vintage stove. I sincerely hope you will return in the future for an anniversary or whenever you need a romantic getaway with your new husband. Wishing you a happy and wonderful marriage. Jolene and Gary Clarke

There is not enough stars for this property

  • 5 of 5

If I could give it 10 stars I would

It was the best long weekend I ever had. This charming cabin was much better then i expected and better then it looked on pictures. I love the way it was decorated, very vintage yet had all modern amenities we are all need in this days. AC, Stove, WI Fi , cable TV was working great. The property was very well maintained, immaculately clean and had all that small details like cute little soap, lotion, nice linen, perfectly clean new towels. The bed was very comfortable. Jolene, the owner, provided me with all details and answered all questions i had. I love dog dishes and box of dog toys, my dog loved it too.

I will definitely return there and not once. I bet it would be fantastic in white winter.

If you are planing nice get away and want real "home away from home" go there, you will love it!

Thank you, Jolene!

Amazing place to get away

  • 5 of 5

We just needed a few days away from the rat race. We grilled and drank wine and enjoyed the quiet. The cabin is beautiful, perfect for 2 people (and our very small dog). Quick 5 minute drive to Lake Arrowhead village, and Jensen's grocery store in Blue Jay (what an amazing wine selection!). My recommendation: Go to Jensen's, pick up food for three days and never leave the cabin. This is exactly what we wanted (and needed). We will be back.

Owner's Response: Hi Michael, looks like you found all that was needed for a perfect stay. Otheres should read how it should be done from you. Who would not love Jensen's and their fine food and wine selection. I love that our cabin was a respite for you from the rat race of live and that you stayed in with your sweet doggie. Nothing makes us happier than a happy guest. I hope you will return in the future. Jolene and Gary Clarke
