About Meaghan Chada

We are a military family of four that has called DC home for more than 10 years. Although originally from Chicago and California we consider ourselves true Washingtonians and are excited to share the city and our property with you!

Meaghan Chada purchased this house in 2001

Why Meaghan Chada chose Washington DC

We originally rented this property but quickly decided to purchase it because of the perfect location and proximity to everything we love in the District. We were pleased that it was on a quiet residential street, but at the same time located only steps from our favorite sights, restaurants, and the convenient Metro system. This was the first house we purchased as a married couple and our kids loved spending their early years here.

What makes this house unique

This house perfectly combines a warm neighborhood feel with the excitement and energy of the city. The location is simply ideal and offers the best of everything.

Wonderful Washington stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay. The property is truly in the best location. It is clean and well maintained, the kitchen was well stocked, and the information in the notebook in the property was very helpful. It was a great place to stay and see the Capital, as well as come back and relax.

Great House! Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this property for a sight seeing vacation to Washington D.C. We had originally planned on using public transportation to help us see all the sights, but never needed to! The house is so convenient and close to everything. The property is wonderful! It is clean, organized, and well stocked with dishes, linens and cleaning supplies. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We were able to walk a few blocks for dinner in the evenings.

Meaghan is great to work with. She responds to questions and emails almost immediately. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who would like to enjoy Washington D.C.!

Book It ! You won't be disappointed

My wife and I and our 2 kids (16 &12) had a wonderful Spring Break stay in this property. The location was excellent. Everything was just as described in the listing. The house is very comfortable, completely updated and modern. It was extremely clean and well taken care of. The owners were excellent to work with and always replied back immediately to any emails or questions. The beds were newer and very comfortable. The kitchen had all the basics and everything was in working order.

We do agree with the other reviewer about the lack of towel racks and upstairs noise. The shower is located in the downstairs bathroom and there is only one 18 inch bar towel rack. When you have 4 people using the same shower there is nowhere to hang and dry your towel. The hooks above the bathtub are too low and do not work. We resorted to using hangers or having to throw the towels in the dryer. I would recommend adding few more towel bars/racks as there is adequate wall space to do so. Also there is no shelf or counter space in both bathrooms. When staying for multiple days there is nowhere to unpack and put your bathroom stuff. A few shelves or a pedestal stand would be helpful. Although these were minor inconveniences, it’s just an idea that could make a great house even better.

We were unaware there was another rental above us on the top floor. From the pictures in the listing, we thought we had the entire unit. We were a little surprised to hear loud footsteps and people walking around upstairs late at night and early morning. There is also a train track close by to the rear of the house. Early morning and evening commuter train noise appears like the train is right in the backyard. After a few days we got used to it.

Overall, it was a very positive experience. It was one of the better vacation rental units we’ve stayed in. Everything was top notch and flawless. The house was a nice oasis to come back to after walking all day and seeing all the wonderful DC sights. We would definitely recommend it to other families.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the great review! I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay! The hooks above the bathtub are supposed to be used for towels and have been in the past by we will definitely look into adding an additional rack. We do have two separate units in the building, and each of them are listed and mentioned in the individual listings. There are separate private enterances for each unit and although we have sound proofing materials in each unit some neighbor noise is to be expected since it is a historical row house. Thanks again for all the wonderful comments and I am so glad you enjoyed our central location!

Nice house, great location

  • 4 of 5

The location of this house is great--two short blocks to the Capitol South metro stop and a short walk to the Capitol and the rest of the National Mall. Some small parks/playgrounds and good restaurants are a few blocks' walk or one metro stop away, including Hank's Oyster Bar and Bayou Bakery, both near Eastern Market. The owners also helpfully advised me on the best way to get from the Baltimore airport to the house using public transport. The house itself is also very nice: well maintained, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint is that noise from the upstairs tenants or their guests can sometimes be loud in the main floor bedroom--especially people (or kids) walking or running around early in the morning or late at night. Also, the bathroom with the shower in it could use more than one small towel rack, given how many people the house sleeps. Overall, though, everything was as promised, and we were glad to stay here. I definitely recommend.

Owner's Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed our great location and all the wonderful restaurants and sightseeing nearby. There are two units in the building but the upstairs unit is equipped with sound proofing under the floors and we always ask all of our guests to be mindful of noise. Since we are in such a fun and bustling location and located in a historic row house a bit of noise from the neighbors is sometimes unavoidable. Regarding the towel rack in the downstairs bathroom, we have a standard rack that holds two towels and an additional towel rack above the bathtub with several hooks for bath towels. We make sure to provide enough hanging space for up to six guests. Thanks again for your feedback and thanks for visiting!

Perfect location and great accommodations

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect location from which to see the sites of DC. It is within walkable distance from most of the sites. If walking isn't for for you, no problem, the metro is only a couple of blocks away. The accommodations were great. They did a really nice job of updating everything. There is plenty of room to spread out. We had six people and didn't feel crowded at all. This was our first time using VRBO. It was way better than staying in a hotel. Being able to have home-cooked meals was really nice. We will certainly be doing this again in the future.

Great house, Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a month-long course at the AIRP in Silver Spring and it was perfect! The house is immaculate and very well maintained, and Meghan went above and beyond to be accommodating for our stay. The Capitol South Metro station is less than two blocks away, which is a very short walk and you can go anywhere you need to from there. Multiple local restaurants with great food are also within walking distance. The location is perfect and it's very cool as an out-of-towner to step out the front door and be able to see the Capitol building and many other historical sites. I highly recommend this house to anyone visiting DC, and if I ever find myself in need of a place in that area again, I will definitely contact Meghan. We couldn't have asked for a better place or more generous host, I highly recommend this property!
