Overview

About the property

Take a step back in time Victorian style. Research shows that "The Station House" was built in 1891 for the Barrie railway station, giving it historic value. The home is on a double lot in a residential neighbourhood. It is centrally located 2 blocks from Barrie's waterfront, and paths.

This 1500 sq. ft. home has a spacious layout which will serve you well for visiting and entertaining. There is much that gives it an old world feel with its high ceilings, restored wooden trim, intricate fretwork, and French doors. Not to mention the garlands, lights and ribbons that adorn the space.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has ceramic floors and antiqued cupboards. It is a very welcoming space when you enter from the outside. The peninsula counter is perfect for having a coffee, or meal for two, and the desk area is a great place to sit down with a computer. This is a very functional space for preparing any type of meal.

Diningroom

The dining area takes up the full width of the house, and it is the link between kitchen and living room, making each area distinct, but open. It seats 6. Take note of the custom draperies which might be found in the film "Gone With the Wind".

Livingroom

The living area has a couch, ladies chair and large arm chair, which is great for reading. Just open the blinds to watch the snow fall, along side the fire in the gas fire place. Or maybe light up a real bonfire in the pit in the side yard. Listen to the snap, crackle, pop!

Upstairs

The upstairs has sloped ceilings with three sweet bedrooms and a full bathroom. All are with shabby chic, Queen Anne furnishings. The bathroom has a clawfoot bathtub and granite top vanity with old fashioned bowl/vessel sink and brass tap.
