perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary. We loved the drive up to the cabin and the secluded feeling even though we knew there were other homes near by. When I saw the porch swing AND two rocking chairs on the porch, I didn't have to go any further to know we would have a great time. Cabin was very clean and it was easy to cook our meals. Really enjoyed the privacy of the hot tub on the back deck. We were able to invite our son and family to a fun picnic on Saturday. We used the grill and picnic table in the yard. We also enjoyed the views from the bench up the path. I walked down to the railroad and walked for a bit. We wold definitely go back there another time.

A Lovely Remote Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect cozy location for a couple. The cabin was clean, kitchen had all the needed pots and pans, the furniture was comfortable. The deck and the views are what really make this a nice destination. We had good weather and some breezes and spent a lot of time outside.

Nice cabin, beautiful scenery, peace and solitude... With a hot tub!

  • 5 of 5

Second time staying here. Beautiful, clean, well maintained cabin in a quiet, peaceful scene. Loved the solitude, the quiet, and the rest... And the hot tub on the deck. Would stay again.

wonderful little place!

  • 5 of 5

Needed a couple of days to unplug and find some calm. This was perfect. No phone, tv, or internet. Just the right size for two people. Super clean, everything working. There was enough cookware to make very basic meals. Full-sized appliances (except for the cute little apt-sized dishwasher). Plenty of towels and bedlinens. Bed was extremely comfortable. Plenty of storage all throughout, even two closets in the bedroom! We were lucky to have wonderful weather with warm days and cool nights, so we only needed to take the chill off inside a couple of times. The gas log fireplace worked great for that. The 2-person hot tub was nice and clean, perfect after hiking. It was so lovely to just sit in the tub and look up at the stars.

Would recommend: Instructions for the fireplace. We have no experience with gas logs and muddled through just fine, but it didn't seem like the safest

approach to the problem.

Renters be advised...if you are not accustomed to mountain roads, you will find the driveway to be very impressive. It is not difficult at all, but it's about a 45-degree incline, starts out paved at the bottom with a little switchback-type curve, then it's gravel the rest of the way up. We were in a little front-wheel drive GMC pickup and had no problem. I'm sure my little Saturn would have done just fine as well. Just take it slow and steady.

Loved the surroundings and the privacy. Loved exploring Saluda. Nice little town with a bakery,a small wine shop, a few restaurants, general store, art shops, vintage shops. Wonderful time unwinding. I would definitely return...hopefully soon.

Peaceful Times

  • 5 of 5

Saluda is a beautiful place to vacation- quiet and conveniently located. The cabin was more than clean, and the caretaker was available to assist with any needs. It was obvious that the owners care about the small details and it was much appreciated. The proximity to some hiking trails with beautiful scenery was an absolute bonus. You do not have to travel far to find something to do- even on Sunday. The hot tub was nice and clean and in a very private spot. We had to relocate a few spiders before getting in, which was funny (for us, but not them). The driveway to the cabin wasn't bad at all (we drive a 4x4) but slow and steady would get any car right up. I highly suggest this cabin.
