Colorful Private Home in the heart of Ashland Town Permit (18-00369)
Mori and John Garloff
About Mori and John Garloff
John is from California originally and I grew up in Chicago. We are both artists and live on the premise in our own private space between our studios. John and I have lived in Ashland for 27 years. First in the mountains above town and for 20 years in this beautiful home. Our sons are grown and we would like to share our available space with travelers. Our home is in the heart of the flats known as the Railroad District and has been said to have been a brothel and laundry house in days gone by. There is everything you may need to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Mori and John Garloff purchased this House in 1998
Why Mori and John Garloff chose Historic Railroad District
After living in the mountains 32 miles from town, down an eight mile dirt road, and off power, John and I decided to move our family down to town. It was time for us to socialize with young families such as our own, get active in our community, and experience town life. For 2 city slickers that grew up in large cities, Ashland is quaint, friendly and small. The cows moo in the outskirts of town and it is as picturesque as any calendar! It's a total European feel and we are both first generation American.
What makes this House unique
We have lived in what is now your living space so we know it was set up and furnished just the way we would like things. We love our home and it brings us joy to share it. We both love to travel and we have the home set up as we would like our stays. The sleeping accommodations are comfortable because we know a good nights sleep is essential. It is wonderful to have everything in close proximity including OSF, Ashland food co op, library, post office, parks, swimming holes, hikes, hardware store, galleries, and restaurants.

Warm and inviting
One of the great things about staying in VRBO’s is finding such unique places like this beautiful home. The artistic and creative decorations made this place really special. It was centrally located and had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The hosts were wonderful to work with.
Margie and company were a pleasure to have as guests. There was excellent communications before, during, and departure. They were clean and respectful. We'd have them back anytime. Thank you for staying with us!
Wonderful hosts, everything you need is here.
Great location and lovely place. We parked our car when we arrived and didn’t use it again until we left. The kitchen is very well equipped. The living room is warm and cozy. Great front porch. Upstairs loft bedroom is charming. Can’t say enough nice things about it.
A Sensory Delight!
From the melodious tones of the wind chimes, to the bold gem stone color palette of the walls, tile and linens. This place is a festival for the senses. We loved the hand thrown pottery and attention to detail everywhere you looked. Nothing about this place is dull and ordinary. It is the embodiment of Ashland, exuding creativity and joie de vivre!
A charming railroad district property close to everything and well-outfitted.
A charming railroad district property close to everything and well-outfitted. Mori and John are terrific hosts, eager to be of help when asked. The cottage is air-conditioned, which is a greatly appreciated during the warm summer afternoons. The one-block walk to the coop was also appreciated. We'd definitely hope to stay here again on our next trip to Ashland. Excellent!
We loved our guests. They are really great, friendly folks and exceptional guests. Communication was clear and easy. Our home was well appreciated and cared for. Please come back to see us anytime. Safe travels till next time...

Thank you Brent, we are so happy you found us and we look forward to having you anytime. Be well and safe travels.
Beautifully decorated with great amenities
We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was superbly equipped, there was a washer/dryer and air conditioning. The location is great - easy walking distance to the OSF, and even better -- a quick walk to the Ashland Co-op.
This is Oregon and we have some of the most pristine outdoor activities. You can walk right onto the mountains above Lithia Park from our home where creeks and wildlife abound. Nearby lakes, reservoirs are plenty. So beautifully breathtaking.
