This is a gorgeous property in a gorgeous part of the country. This stunning cabin is spacious, well built and full of incredible details. Steve himself built this cabin and I have to say he really paid attention to details. Steve and Joy were incredible hosts, always answering our questions and making sure we were having a good time. Our family had an amazing time and we look forward to visiting again. A small caveat, the cabin is advertised on VRBO as sleeping 15 people. It really sleeps 12 people comfortably. There are enough beds for 12. 14 if 2 people sleep on the sofas. Another point, there is absolutely no cell phone reception up there. So you depend solely on wifi and wifi calling. Wifi was sketchy during our stay, on and off all the time. Steve ordered a new router but we never had the chance to use it since time came for us to leave. I'm sure there is a new router in place by now. I should point out there a landline phone available in the cabin. For all these minor issues I would have given our stay a 4 1/2 stars but I couldn't. I still and wholeheartedly recommend this property for up to 14 people (2 on sofas) and I would definitively stay there again. The family is still talking about the trip. Thank you Steve!
I'm an engineer from Florida (originally from Russia), so I and my friends were looking for some place where the weather would be a bit colder than winter in Florida. We reached out Steve, he replied promptly, it was easy to communicate with him and get directions to the place. Since we are from Florida all our cars front wheelers and it was easy to get to the house. Once we got there we have been amazed by spectacular lake view and the house itself. The house has lots of space and we been able to fit our big company comfortably. We came to NC celebrate New Year, so for as it was very important to have cozy nice looking house and we got what we wanted, the details in the house make you feel warm and welcoming, the fireplace was something special for our gifts exchange time, we got lots of great memories and smiley pictures next to it. And wifi in the house let you be in touch with family and friends, we been able to say "Happy New Year!" to the loved once. The nature around the house is beautiful, you can just walk near the lodge and enjoy the views. Steve also have 3 floors museum were he collecting almost everything and he was nice enough to give us a tour. Great time and the great experience.
Both mine and my husbands families and wedding party rented all five cabins on the property for our wedding weekend. We had an amazing time! The cabins feel so secluded yet are very accessible to one another. Steve and Joy were amazing and made us feel welcome! You are close enough to everything you need yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet charm of the mountainous woods. We had an incredible weekend that was made possible by the people and location of Memory Mountain! Our family and friends are already discussing our next trip back :)
Beautiful property and cabin. There was plenty of room for everyone and we got to enjoy the lake right outside our door for fishing and fun.
WOW! What a beautiful setting, sitting out on the balcony, looking up at the blue skies and seeing the mountains, huge trees in the forest all around, listening to the water coming down off the mountain running into three ponds, animals rustling around below on the ground and birds chirping, all seen and heard from this balcony! What a magnificent setting of Creation!
What a blessing to find this Lakeside Cabin owned by a Christian couple! Everything they posted about this cabin and location was correct and more. The cabin was clean, well maintained and made to feel like a second home! The interior of the cabin was just as relaxing and beautiful to see the vaulted ceiling and all the natural timber wood walls, staircase and flooring!
My wife and I came to relax, read, walk and enjoy dinner in Ashville. The time spent staying in this Lakeside cabin exceeded our expectations! We were able to relax in such a breath-taking setting, watching the sun rise in the mornings over the mountains and tree tops, and in the evenings watching the full moon shine off the lake while relaxing by the blazing camp fire!
Steve and Joy, the owners, were a blessing in themselves! Very accommodating, helpful and so enjoyable to talk with and to laugh with! God is using this couple and their Resort to be a blessing to many!
We took a tour of Memory Mountain Resort and it is truly an amazing resort that can handle all types of events, including just two people wanting to relax and get away from the big city! Steve and Joy have thought of everything to accommodate weddings, corporate outings, family reunions, class reunions, youth groups, church groups, etc. Steve and his son just completed a huge wooden lodge that is set up for any event and I love the porch that people can relax on, while looking at the pond and mountains.
If you are reading this, we would recommend for you to just inquire and witness for yourself the Spirit-filled honesty, the cheerfulness, and the warmth of Steve and Joy!
My fiancee and I were married at Lakeside Lodge. We stayed there before, during, and after the ceremony while our guests were accommodated at other cabins on Steve's property. Steve was wonderful in procuring enough tables and chairs for our guests and offering suggestions about how we could arrange pieces of furniture differently to accommodate a guest list of 70. The wedding proceeded just as we envisioned it. I would highly recommend staying at or getting married at Lakeside Lodge! I would not have changed a thing.
