IWe experience four seasons that offer an array of activities all year round. Guest will be in close proximity to skiing, golfing, rafting, tubing, zip-lines, National Foest, orchards, horseback riding, The Biltmore Estate, Western NC Nature Center, Dollywood, Gray Fossil Museum, Christmas tree farms, natural hot springs, gem mining as well as every luxury a city offers; shopping, dining, theaters. The lodges are well planned to allow privacy and safety. There is plenty of driveway parking and there are no steep drops or stilts like most mountain cabins.
The owners, Steve and Joy Powell, live on Memory Mountain and offer tours of their farm to interested guest, however appointments must be made in advance. Their farm features rabbits, range chickens, pheasants, quail, egg gathering, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, apple/peach/pear trees. Their Antique Museum has the largest arrowhead collection in the Southeast. You may view depression glass, farm equipment and neat historical mountain finds. Arrowhead hunts may also be coordinated with your scheduled visit.
we went for a wedding in October and the weather was perfect. The cabin was so quaint and the view spectacular. We had the full moon right in front of our porch. Our cabin Cherokee Lodge slept eight people comfortably in the three bedrooms. Steve and his wife are lovely people and we would for sure return to Memory Mountain at Wolf Laurel...
We cannot convey how perfectly awesome our weekend was at this venue. The cabins are beautiful and handcrafted. The location is peaceful and quiet.
This cabin was a great place for myself and the other pastors at my church to hold our annual planning retreat. Cherokee Lodge is the perfect place to be isolated enough to fellowship with one another yet connected enough to get our work done. We were very comfortable and were able to relax in the evenings. The weather was perfect in early September for a walk in the woods as well.
My out-of-town wedding guests stayed in Cherokee Lodge during their visit to North Carolina for my wedding at Lakeside Lodge. Guests raved about the architectural details of Cherokee Lodge. The cabin was clean and well maintained and the listing description was very accurate. We were extremely happy with the accommodations and customer service that Steve provided at Cherokee Lodge and would not hesitate to stay at the cabin again!
We always enjoy our visits to memory mountain. There is a family atmosphere and The owners go out of their way to do whatever they need to do to make your stay a true memory!
We were guests at Memory Mountain this week for wedding planning. Steve Powell couldn't have been more accommodating! The cabins are rustic and welcoming and the property breathtaking. This is a fabulous place to have a wedding and it's a real treat to come six weeks early for a wedding planning session and at a great rate, too! I highly recommend Memory Mountain for weddings and vacations!
