Beautiful and serene

  • 5 of 5

Memory Mountain is the perfect place to relax and enjoy family and God's creation. Steve and Joy Powell are gracious owners and caretakers of this beautiful property. Our family enjoyed fishing, bonfires, hikes, and time sitting on the porch of the cabins. What a refreshing weekend. Thank you Steve and Joy for your vision. We look forward to coming back to Memory Mountain!

Cozy and quaint, with a homey feel, situated right up on the mountain.

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our recent New Years getaway in the mountains. Coming from Florida, we wanted to stay in a log cabin in the mountains, see some snow, and enjoy snow related activities. We weren't disappointed. The cabin was the perfect size to accommodate our entire party of 6 adults and 6 children. The night we arrived, we got to enjoy snow flurries, and although there wasn't any significant accumulation on the ground, the serenity of the snow coming down was enough for us. The house is within a quarter mile of the Wolf Ridge ski resort, and 2 snow tubing hills. The views from the front porch are truly amazing, and the surrounding woods kept the kids entertained as they explored the area. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to returning next year.

Cherokee Cabin at Memory Mountain

  • 5 of 5

Unfortunatly our visit was somewhat impaired due to area forest fires and dense smoke, but my family group of 9 still had a wonderful time. The children loved Lobo the wolf. The fishing ponds were full of bass and trout. The cabin was neat and clean and the Powell's will quickly resolve any problems or concerns. We hope to visit the area again and will stay in a Memory Mt. Cabin.

We loved the property! The barn is beautiful and charming with it's unique decor and welcoming openness, the chapel is such a great sanctuary for reflection, and the cabins were comfortable and rustic with modern conveniences included!

"Memory Mountain" - Cherokee Lodge

  • 5 of 5

When our two families united under Sally and Taylor's wedding umbrella, love, healing, and celebrating rained down. The abundance of chatter and activity dissipated all strangeness. For three days our focus left daily routines and zeroed in on the bride and groom.

The 5 major cabins became our community. And the phantom of the mountain was Lobo, a rare and domesticated wolf. Like God, he was everywhere and brought healing to all who touched him.

Our family stayed in the Cherokee. Knowing that this was once the Powell's family home gave this cabin a particular vitality and warmth. Basic comforts include a well-equipped kitchen, abundant sleeping spaces, a massive stone fireplace, and expert landscaping. My favorite features were: the grand master bedroom that opens to a porch and houses a bright red ginger jar lamp; the large front windows revealing the season, and welcoming the morning's exquisite view as you commune with your coffee; and the over-sized porch with multiple and varied chairs which invite company on a starry night.

Steve Powell and God are the master designers of Memory Mountain. He and his wife Joy manage this piece of heaven on earth. Both will be extremely helpful in providing information, assisting you while you are here, and caring about you.

When you select Memory Mountain for your special event (And I hope you will!), know that the heart and soul of this paradise will invade your very being.

Owner's Response: People who are looking to come here should read this review. I appreciate the great words and they are true. However success at Memory Mountain is as much the families credit as it is sent mine. We form a bond that goes from beginning to the end. I worked and started 17 banks in my life so customer service is real strong in our life. My wife and I are on a mission and that is to help as many people as we can. We are also Christians and this is what we are suppose to do. If we are paid a dollar we want to give $1.50 in return silly I know but we believe it. Everyone that comes here become our ecteened family and we treat you that way.
