3 bedrooms, each with newer and very comfortable beds - you will sleep well! Very large bedroom has a beautifully comfortable King sized bed and a double futon (for kids) large closet, large dresser. Second and third bedrooms each have Queen sized beds, ample closet and dresser space. Two full bathrooms, a full size washer/dryer, and a very well equipped modern kitchen. The great room has a comfortable and intimate sitting area with a flat screen TV, DVD player and wifi internet service. The fireplace provides comfort and romance on cool evenings. The dining area includes a family sized oak table, and a breakfast bar for quick snacks. The deck has a wonderful view of the golf course and the very close Rocky Mountain range - and a great gas grill for those superb meals.
NOT in town: the location is what most guests comment on. Since it's in the country, you will get zero of the typical sounds or views of the 'city/town' based vacation rentals. You are and feel like you're in the country. Wonderful walking/biking/skiing trails are literally right out the door - you can enjoy a piece of nature without driving anywhere. Beautiful trails provide natural beauty - and to see another person while out is indeed rare. And it all means a very quiet setting for your vacation home. You will hear all the song birds unmasked by the sounds of civilization.
The property is co-owned by Bruce and Verna Ratzlaff, and our daughter and son in law Alex and Wendy Lerch. We are residents of Calgary and love the proximity of our Villa and love to share it with others. We have offered this property as a rental since we've owned it, and typically have couples and families take advantage of our beautiful villa. Our guest book abounds with positive comments - come see for yourself.
Bruce Ratzlaff purchased this villa in 2006
Why? We get repeated comments about these unique aspects of our Villa:
1. It's in the country, NOT in town - city people love to step into the unusual quiet and peace of the country setting.
2. It's unusually comfortable: Beds are great, living room is comfortable and intimate, kitchen is fully equipped. It just 'feels' right - put together.
3. Value. We try to price it so that people get good value vs similar sized properties - so that they will come back, and they do.
As you turn off the main access road, there is a long, narrow paved road through the pines - and you just 'feel' the quiet beauty of nature envelop you - the transition to vacation mode is instant.
The entire complex has only 26 units spread among 3 distinct buildings. These are vacation villa properties - and it is rare that there are 'many' owners on site at any given time. This just adds to the sense of quite that is pervasive at this location. We love the many hiking trails through the woods that one can access right from the Villa. If you feel ambitious, you can take the most beautiful hike/bike trail, right from the door to the Radium Hot Springs pools - about 8km one way.
After several stays at this villa, it was nice to see that small maintenance things have been done. It's neat, clean, relaxing, tastefully decorated for a quiet commune in nature.
6 of us and a toddler stayed in this condo for 4 nights, and it worked out perfectly. The living area is a comfortable place to relax, the kitchen has all the space and gadgets you need to make food for a group, and the bedrooms are quiet, with good beds. The condo is in a quiet area, with nice views over a golf course and up toward the mountains, and it's convenient to all the great things there are to do in the Columbia Valley. All other accommodation we looked at would have been a lot more expensive, and not half as good.
I was a tiny bit apprehensive about pre-paying by email money transfer, just in case this was some kind of elaborate internet scam, but the condo owners replied quickly and the whole transaction went smoothly.
We found this Villa to be true to the advertising in every way. It was comfortable, well equipped and clean. The walks in natural, country setting was a highlight and we felt the peace of the quite here. Thanks for sharing you lovely Villa with us.
This is such a nice, quiet, comfortable unit - thank you for making it so. Long walks (no snow) on the trails and empty golf course were so refreshing and enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable, we slept well and long each day. And the fireplace offered the cozy ambience we wanted to just relax, read and talk. We had a special time all around.
We rented a number of units in this complex for our group and the facilities were great. Our friends were our neighbours for the weekend and the weather made our indoor and outdoor gatherings the very best. (We were a group of 19 using 4 villa units - one per family)
The location of this Villa is a key to its attractiveness as a vacation property. It is 4 km south of Radium and at the end of a tree lined country lane. A large ridge separates the property from Hwy 93 - and there is zero sounds of traffic, ever! It offers abundant quiet and peace - and that brings the natural sounds and sights right to the Villa for you to enjoy. With only a short drive, all of the attractions and services of Radium and Invermere are within 10 minutes of the door. If you want, you can walk to the Radium Golf Group pro shop and just golf on a great course that borders the property.
