This warm and inviting Rockaway Beach getaway sits on the west side of Highway 101, just across a quiet street from miles of sandy beach. Perfect for memorable family vacations, this three bedroom cottage is filled with cozy charm and nestled between a natural wetland pond and the ocean in the popular southern area of town. From the moment you first drive up, you'll be charmed by the beachy exterior and big front porch, complete with Adirondack chairs for sitting back and relaxing with a morning cup of coffee!
Once inside, there's ample coastal character, with ship replicas on the mantle, a white paneled ceiling, and sea shells decorating the tables; but, you'll also find a touch of traditional style courtesy the oriental rugs and hardwood floors. There's a colorful brick wood fireplace so bring some firewood with you, cable TV with DVD player, comfy seating, and room for the whole family to spread out and watch a movie or find their own quiet place to curl up with a good book.
The full kitchen is well-stocked with all the appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and dinnerware you need to serve a group of hungry beachcombers. Pick up some fresh seafood at the market and whip up a delicious fish dinner in no time! There's even a dishwasher for easy clean-up. The full sized washer and dryer is also located in the kitchen, and ready for your wet beach clothes after a day of exploring.
A formal dining room has ample seating for meals or there's plenty of space on the back deck to have an outdoor feast. Accessed through a glass door from the kitchen, the deck is outfitted with an outdoor table and patio umbrella for shade. After spending the day at the beach, fire up the charcoal grill and cook up some juicy burgers for a laid back summer barbecue. And after the kids have gone to bed, you can spend cool, clear evenings on the deck with a glass of wine.
This home has three bedrooms and one full bath, all located on one level. Two of the bedrooms contain trundle day beds, each with its own collection of colorful throw pillows. With flexibility in mind, these beds can convert into two twin sized beds, perfect for two younger kids to share a room, or stay as a single twin bed for an older child. These rooms are decorated pleasingly for maximum comfort, with dressers, reading lamps, and soft bedding.
The third bedroom has a full sized bed with a cozy comforter, bedside table, reading lamp, and a window that lets in lots of natural light. It has a vintage, shabby-chic feel that will have its occupants feeling soothed and contented in no time. With its three bedrooms, this cute little cottage will sleep six. It's also pet friendly so bring your furry family member along for some quality time playing in the surf for a $10 per day, per pet fee ($40 minimum per stay).
While this cottage is definitely welcoming and very comfortable, one of the best features is its prime location. Right off the back patio and yard is a large, natural wetland pond with lily pads, aquatic plants and other scenic features. A very relaxing afternoon can be had watching the kids play in back or being on the lookout for great blue herons out in the pond.
With beach access right across the street, you are literally steps from miles of pristine sandy beach. Spend the day building sand castles, flying kites, looking for shells, or simply laying out under a big umbrella. The cottage is also located only a half mile north of one of the most recognizable views in Rockaway Beach: Twin Rocks. Be sure to bring your camera for some stunning sunset pictures starring this geologic feature.
Want a little change from all the peacefulness of your beach cottage? Head a about a mile north and hit the quaint downtown area for shops, restaurants and galleries. Stock up on local saltwater taffy and handcrafted fudge at The Picnic Basket, or maybe start the day with a hearty homemade breakfast at the Whale Spout.
For a fun day trip, drive north up the coast stopping at Wheeler for a little antiquing, Manzanita for lunch at Bread and Ocean, then onto Cannon Beach for an afternoon of hiking in Ecola State Park or gallery-hopping along the picturesque downtown streets.

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s familys summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This is a very quaint house. Well stocked bathroom & kitchen, although the kitchen could use a toaster. If you have AT&T as your cell provider, you will not be able to use your phone. We were able to use our T-Moble phone. Internet worked really well. The water pressure in the shower wasn't that great & we ran out of hot water after a 15 minute shower. The tub/shower is raised, so my friend FELL while trying to get out of the shower. The 2 roads to get to the house off of the highway are FULL of potholes. There is a train that goes back & forth during the day that is VERY loud. It does not run at night, however.
These are the reasons that I won't rent this house again:
I could not use my phone.
The water pressure in the shower sucked.
The queen bed was not very comfortable.
Older home with good kitchen & nice big fireplace. Two blocks from the beach.
We had a very extended stay at the cabin waiting for our house to be ready to move into. If you want a cool old place with not a lot of frills but plenty of character this is the place. Loved the old place. Very comfortable.
Great property and a good time was had by my wife and I.
This little cottage is a perfect location for a quiet, private getaway to enjoy the beach. There is a little noise from hwy 101 on the back patio but not noticeable on the sweet front porch or in the house. It is close enough for quick walks on the beach or just to run out in the dark and enjoy the stars. The general condition of the house took me back to my rundown childhood home with some deferred maintenance. The location makes up for a lot as the charms of rockaway beach and twin rocks are amazing. A little brush clearing would be nice so we could see the pond with its lilies and swooping swallows in at least a small area. In summary a fine little beach house if you are not expecting modern, but clean and with comfortable spaces, a bit shabby for the price.
