We have vacationed in the Pagosa Springs area for a number of years and it was the fulfillment of a dream to be able to build a house there. We love the area and all that it has to offer, especially it's casual, laid back atmosphere.
Linda Earnhart purchased this house in 2009
The valley and mountain views and the wildlife that come in for the pond were a major selling point. Also the huge greenbelt below us and walking distance to the National Forest were a bonus. We love fishing in the area private lakes, especially Hatcher Lake.
Located in Pagosa Lakes close to the only grocery store and popular restaurants and brew pubs Pagosa Lakes has a recreation center for your use (small fee) and access to their private, stocked lakes. Close to the San Juan National Forest with hiking and mountain biking trails. Wolf Creek ski area with the most snow in Colorado is a 40 minute drive away. The town of Durango is only an hour away with it's famous Silverton Train, along with shops and restaurants and air service to major cities.
We took our kids to Dancing Bear so they could experience their first real white Christmas. It was awesome! The house and property are gorgeous and had us entertained the entire week we were there. Linda is an exceptional host and we would highly recommend this VRBO property.
We had a great time. The house was very warm and spacious. Plenty of room for ages 6 to 75. I highly recommend this house. Karen Walker
Beautiful home! Plenty of room for everyone in our family. Had lots of fun in the game room. The balcony was wonderful to read, visit with each other, watch deer feeding, see hot air balloons, or just enjoy the peaceful setting. Plenty of quiet places to walk or run around the property. Wonderful place to stay and we will be back!
We had a wonderful Spring Break vacation at Dancing Bear Retreat. A large but, comfortable home that accommodated 3 families. Well decorated and well stocked...we enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, and enjoyed meals at the large dining table looking out over the fabulous views. Close to the grocery store and our favorite restaurants. Highly recommended!
We had a group of 10 adults and 2 small children. There was plenty of room for everyone to be together or do their own thing if they wanted. House is in great location just a short drive to town. Beautiful property with hills for the kids to sled down. Kitchen was stocked very well with all the basics and some not so basic supplies. Wolf Creek is about 45 minutes away and we had a great two days skiing up on the mountain. We will absolutely consider Dancing Bear next year for our annual ski trip. Thank you Linda for sharing your home with us, it was the trip of a lifetime!
The pictures of the house don't do it justice! Beautiful house, pastoral setting! Everything was well maintained, clean and orderly. Kitchen was fully stocked and the owners provide many items that mostVRBO rentals do not, including shampoo and conditioner, chapstick!, toilet paper and paper towels. Plenty of spices and other necessities cut down on the trips to the store. Owners were very helpful and provided several tips that the local know, including the hidden sled hill. We had an awesome time. Thank you so much!
