The Fairway Villas are located in this beautiful gated community in the Waikoloa Beach Resort. A shopping paradise as you can walk to the King’s Shops or Queen’s Marketplace within 5-6 minutes. Fine dining is available or grab a sandwich at the Food Court. Enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, whale watching, sun bathing close by at Anaehoomalu “A” Bay. The golf courses within the resort are close by and do provide a shuttle service.
Your family may just want to relax by the infinity pool. This fitness center is adjacent to the pool and is open air to embrace those wonderful breezes in Hawaii.

We are the original owners. We love the location of our unit. Not only is it on the dry side of the island within a short drive from some of the worlds most beautiful beaches; it is also walking distance to the beach, golf course, and many shops and restaurants. We love to walk to the beach in the morning and swim out to see the turtles. While, we like to explore the Big Island, it is great to know that we can walk to dinner or the grocery store from our condo at the end of a busy day. Our unit is light, airy and spacious. We have a lovely view of the golf course and of Mauna Kea. Since our development was built during the boom of the early 2000's there was no scrimping on landscaping, so the area is full of trees and tropical plants reminiscent of old Hawaii.
We arrived in Kona around 8:30 PM and arrived at the condo around 9:30 PM. There were no outside lights as the light bulb was burned out, as were a few of the light bulbs inside.
When we first entered the condo, there were 2 dead cock roaches in the entry way and another 3 in the kitchen/dining room. The bathroom off the main entry way was dirty and the kitchen was not the best. The lanai was full of leaves and debris. There was no broom or anything to clean the unit with. We bought supplies at Costco and Walmart, including toilet paper and paper towels.
The face clothes were white, but stained with makeup. Some of the bath towels which were white were also stained. The ice dispenser on the fridge did not work, but it did make ice cubes and we could get them inside the fridge, which was good.
The location was really great, and Heidi was really helpful, and very good to deal with. We loved that the unit was able to accomodate all 6 of us very comfortably. I felt that perhaps Heidi was not aware that the cleaners were not doing their job.
We have been to Waikoloa Beach several times and this location is perfect, and accessible to everything. We love the beach area and would definitely rent on the beach area again.
First, the process of renting this condo was flawless. The instructions were clear, it all happened as stated and there were absolutely no issues - quite a pleasant surprise these days. I couldn't have been happier with how the renting process was conducted.
More importantly, the condo is just fantastic. It is incredibly well laid-out and spacious. There were six adults in our group and we felt there was ample space for us to be together or seek out space away from the others. Upstairs, there is a massive master suite with a huge bath area (soaking tub, shower and walk-in closet). The other bedroom is standard with two twins that can be pushed together and a nice sized bathroom. There is also a large sitting area with sofa and desk on the upper level.
The lower level has the additional bedroom/bathroom along with a super comfortable living, dining areas and the kitchen. Everything is very upscale and after having come from a very nice penthouse condo on Maui, I really noticed the high level of detail and quality of everything in the unit. Even the small appliances weren't the typical inexpensive kind you normally find. The blender came in handy for the pina coladas!
Overall, this was one of the best rentals we've ever gotten. Ample parking, luxury condo, beautiful outdoor space and pool/grill area plus convenient to walk to restaurants, shops and grocery. Who could want more. Oh, and Heidi was a pleasure to work with. I had to call her to clarify a few small things and she was immediately available, professional, friendly and helpful.
We are going to be going back to the Big Island and will definitely be staying here. We loved it that much. It made our vacation even more special.
Our group of 5 adults stayed here for a week, and never once felt cramped or like we needed more space.
The kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans, rice cooker, blender, etc. The showers and beds were great, and the outdoor space was shady and wonderful most of the day. We heard virtual no noise from the golfers, though the course was directly off the lanai. We did hear some early morning course maintenance, but nothing that woke anyone. There was plenty of snorkeling equipment for the 5 of us (we also "donated" a nice snorkel that one of us found at the bottom of Two Step--you're welcome!), and plenty of towels for the beach.
Heidi was great to deal with--was able to let us in slightly early as our arrival on the island went more smoothly than anticipated. As soon as contracts were signed, we got all of the key codes and information emailed, and were updated with any changes. She answered phone calls and if not able to answer right away, got back to us very quickly. We did not have any problems that required us to contact the property management while we were staying at the condo.
This condo complex is lovely--very well maintained gardens, great pool and hot tub area, and great BBQ area. The pool was in use most of the time, so if you need a place where the swimming is more exclusive, this might not be for you. We did not hear any noise from the pool area or the BBQ area during our stay, even though they were just steps away.
The property is nicely situated within Waikoloa Beach Resort, with shopping, beach, and other sites just a short walk away, and I would definitely stay at Fairway Villas again, for that reason. The only drag about staying at Waikoloa was the distance to HVNP and Hilo--those are long drives--but no fault of the resort, just geography! There are a lot of things to see and do within a short drive--great beaches within less than a 20 minute drive from your door, for example--and plenty to keep you busy when you don't feel like being in the car.
As someone else mentioned, I would have loved to see a cooler of some kind, for day trips. If you think you'll need one, best to bring your own. Parking was right outside the front door, the AC worked great for us, and the condo was very clean when we got there. No issues whatsoever! Highly recommend for groups of 4 or more.
My family had the opportunity to stay at this condo for a week in March 2016. It was very clean, well stocked with beach equipment and in a great location, close to beach, golf courses and shopping centers- King and Queen markets. Close to Hilton and Marriott resorts. This condo has a nice pool, hot tub and exercise facility and is very quiet.
We just returned from staying in this great condo for 12 days. There were six of us and we had plenty of room. Condo was stocked with everything we needed - only thing I recommend bringing is a collapsible cooler to take to the beach. Heidi was wonderful to work with and we would stay here again!!!!
