‘Primula’ is a first floor apartment for four people, with one double and one twin bedroom, measuring approximately 60m2. Access is via a winding footpath, slightly uphill.
‘Primula’ has recently been sympathetically and tastefully renovated, in keeping with the heritage of the farmhouse. The original beamed ceilings blend effortlessly with the restored antique furniture and carefully chosen ethnic pieces. The walls are colour-washed with cheering warm tones – a gorgeous primrose yellow and a dramatic indigo blue in the bathroom. Sink into the comfortable sofas and feel instantly at home.
Perhaps the highlight of ‘Primula’ is the delightful sun room, with comfortable seating and dramatic views through the floor to ceiling windows. From here, you can stroll out onto the rooftop veranda to soak up more of the impressive views. ‘Primula’ also benefits from a large private enclosed garden shaded by a pergola.
The villa Casale la Torre is tucked away in the most gloriously beautiful setting between Sorrento and Massa Lubrense. This stretch of coast is part of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella, renowned for its natural landscape and history.
A traditional group of farmhouse buildings, Casale la Torre is divided into three apartments, ‘Corallo’, ‘Il Verde’ and ‘Primula’. All apartments can be rented separately, as each has a separate entrance and private outdoor space. Alternatively, the entire villa is perfect for a larger group of up to thirteen people.
You can sense the peace and serenity from the moment you reach the private parking area and turn off your car ignition. As you stroll up a short flight of wide stone steps towards the farmhouse, you can feel yourself returning to a simpler time, far from the challenges of modern life.
The farmhouse itself lies on two terraced levels of land, amidst groves of citrus and olive trees. You arrive on the lower level, where exquisite gardens spread before you. The lawned grounds are extensive, with flowers spilling from pots and the gnarled trunks of trees standing beside the farmhouse as they have for decades.
Before you, a small promontory reaches out towards the sea, home to a generous swimming pool (11m x 5m, open from May to September) and a solarium with ample recliners and parasols. The enviable panoramic views sweep in almost a full circle across the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida and the Gulf of Naples.
A sizable shaded patio area offers the perfect place for a convivial al fresco dinner during the warm summer evenings, with a wood-burning oven and traditional circular barbeque. A professionally equipped kitchen is available for your own use, or on request, the staff of Casale la Torre will be pleased to cater for your party, using traditional local recipes, and genuine DOC-certified products of the Sorrento Peninsula.
We had a great time at the Primula appartement. We were there with our 2,5 years old daughter in May.
The appartement is on the first floor with a private terrace, which is great with a young child.
The garden is very nice, and was full of flowers when we were there.
The pool is great also, very clean (cleaned every day) with a view on Capri that is as beautiful as it is on the pictures on the web site.
The apartment itself is very comfortable and nice.
It is necessary to have a car to go around, but it is easy to park (not free though) in Sorrento and take the boat or a train to visit the area.
