Why Owner/Property Manager chose Central City/Garden District

LOTS of reasons-- beautiful building and courtyard with that old New Orleans feel, excellent location and neighborhood, gated parking, home has huge master suites, adjoining large baths-- gorgeous. I also have several other homes in the Marigny and Bywater close to the FQ. I want to give my customers choices for the area they want!

What makes this house unique

You are right ON Magazine street-has lots of restaurants/coffee shops/antique shops, and 5 minute drive to the French Quarter or Downtown. I own several other buildings if you need another part of town.

Guys Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This place is great! My buddies and I took a trip down to NOLA to get me prepared for my big day, and this was a fantastic place/location to stay. The place was spotless when we arrived and had the AC ready for guests (it was a hot day in LA). We arrived about 2-3 hours before check in and Guy, the property manager, was very accommodating about letting us drop our things off and also making sure that everything was as expected. Guy is friendly and does a great job of making guests feel at home. The management is out of the way but are accessible if needed... Everything was perfect with the house, the linens, the AC, the kitchen, the back patio, etc. so we didn't really need them for anything but it was nice to know they were there. The back patio/courtyard is awesome! It has a charcoal grill, two tables with umbrellas, a pond with turtles, beautiful plants, etc. I would highly recommend grilling out at least one night (kitchen is stocked with all needed utensiles). There were only six of us so we had plenty of room and could have easily fit twice as many people. The house itself is historical, built in the 1870's, but is up to date with all modern amenities so it is a great way to get some of the historical NOLA vibe without making any compromises. The neighborhood is extremely quiet, which is nice, and this did not prevent us from enjoying ourselves on the back patio at night... You just have to be respectful of the neighbors. We all felt extremely safe in this place and felt like we were in a safe area of town. Obviously, you are in a big city so you still have to be smart, but the house is in the Garden District so you are in a good area. The location is ideal! You are about a 35 minute walk to Bourbon St., but I would recommend checking out the Garden District (Parasol's firecracker shrimp Po'boy is the best sandwich I have ever had and is only a 10 minute walk away) as it is also really cool! I will be staying here again the next time my friends and I hit NOLA. Very nice house in an awesome city!

A birthday celebration

  • 5 of 5

The house is just beautiful lots of space for a big group. We were 12. The courtyard is wonderful and we spent very little time inside. I have only one complaint and that is there were no potholders and only one dishtowel. I bought a potholder and left it there. There are probably some who never cook their meals there but we had two dinners in. It also would be nice to have aluminum foil things you just don't think of bringing (left some for the next person). Guy was wonderful.

Perfect for 10 people

  • 5 of 5

This house was exactly what we wanted; authentic New Orleans through and through. Of course the house is an older home, but that is what intrigued us. It has large Bedrooms which are private with their own baths. Balconies afforded wonderful views of the courtyard and Magazine Street. The gated parking is a bonus. The courtyard was our favorite spot - very large and shaded. We hosted a crawfish boil for lots of friends and it was wonderful! The location is great. Walking distance to coffee shops, shopping and St. Charles Avenue. A streetcar ride to the French Quarter only cost $1.25!

Also want to mention that the manager, Guy, was super cool. He gave us tips on where to get provisions, where to go, etc. He was on sight most of the time, so he was available for questions/concerns. I would recommend this home to ANYONE who wants an authentic Nola experience.

Beautiful home in a great central location. Stroll Magazine or walk up to St.Charles to catch the trolley to the Quarter. Great coffee shop 100 steps away (Mojos). The house is classic New Orleans charm with high ceilings, wood floors, and local decor that dips you into the thick NOLA culture (music, art, history). Guy, the caretaker, is nearby to help with questions or to provide a local's insight. The patio was a highlight as our group relaxed and told tales of the previous days NOLA adventures while drinking the morning brew or evening cocktails. Beautiful gardens, too, and offstreet parking. Enjoy if you take the plunge!

Jazz Fest-Fun Fest

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for jazz fest 2016. Every couple had a bedroom and every couple had a bathroom. Enchanting courtyard where we would sit and have our coffee every morning. Plenty of room to host a crawfish bowl with friends and family. Great local to parks, WWII museum and trolley.

The caretaker is very helpful and very attentive.

Magical place for family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We had a family reunion here in April and loved this property! The bedrooms, with their high ceilings and ensuite baths, provided everyone with their own sense of privacy, while the large kitchen and the 2 patio tables in the courtyard were great gathering places for the troops. The house was very clean and there were plenty of linens, soap, shampoo and cleaning supplies on hand.

We loved the the many restaurant and shops within walking distance and a great coffee shop, Mojo's, just across the street. Some of our guests would go there early in the morning to catch up on work - it was definitely a great satellite office, with fantastic coffee.

The courtyard and turtle pond made this city property a magical place to return to after a day of sightseeing for my 5 grandchildren. The adults could sit and enjoy a cocktail while the kids counted and named all the turtles. Guy, the caretaker, was sweet to them and allowed them to feed the turtles everyday. He was also helpful with the gate and anything else we needed.

My family and I would definitely rent this property again.
