We have been travelling to Florida for several years now. We live in Northern Ontario, Canada where the winters can get very cold, and we truly enjoy escaping to Florida during this season.
Carole and Tom purchased this house in 2011
We purchased this home and plan to use it as our retirement home in the next few years. While we anxiously wait for our retirement years, we would like to share our home with you, and feel confident that you will love it as much as we do.
It was love at first sight when we seen this home. What appeals to us is the tranquility, serenity of the area and the fact that you are only 10 minutes from shopping, restaurants.... Best of both worlds, a little country but close to city amenities.
We were so excited to book our stay here and we were not disappointed. The yard is very nicely landscaped and provides plenty of privacy in the backyard for the pool. The house is beautifully decorated and absolutely immaculate. The bedrooms are all good size, and the master is huge with a large, spacious bathroom. The lanai was our favorite gathering spot and we ate almost all of our meals out there. The bar fridge was a welcome addition to the patio and was well used by us! My young daughter spent as much time in the pool as she could, and there was plenty of space to relax, enjoy the view and swim at your leisure. The kitchen is well stocked with all the supplies, utensils, pots and pans that you need to prepare meals and we enjoyed eating at home by the pool. It is about 10-15 minutes to the grocery store and about 20-30 to a wide variety of restaurants. If you are heading to Ft. Myers beach, plan to leave early to avoid the traffic on the bridge. If you leave mid morning, it is about 45 minutes to get there. We absolutely loved the house and are already looking forward to next year!
We feel blessed to have found this home and been able to stay in it for two weeks. It was exactly what we were looking for in our family's (four daughters) first Florida vacation. As soon as you pull up you are struck by the beautiful landscaping which is professionally maintained. Upon entering the home you see quality everywhere you turn. The kitchen is outfitted with beautiful cabinetry, granite counter tops, and LG stainless steel appliances. The bedrooms are all decorated very nicely and beds are especially comfortable. The master bath is huge with double sinks and a wonderful walk in shower. The master bedroom has a bay window that looks out at the pool and the palm trees. The great room is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating, which was nice for our large family to be able to spread out and enjoy movies or games in the evenings. Every room has a ceiling fan.
We spent most of our time in the lanai in or around the pool. This space was really an oasis for us. The pool was impeccably maintained and was surrounded by tropical landscaping. There was plenty of seating around the pool, including a table where we ate many of our meals which we grilled on the gas grill.
The property is very private. At the time we stayed all of the adjacent lots were still empty so there were no immediate neighbors. We enjoyed the privacy this property offered, which really added to the ability to relax. You are within 5-10 minutes of several grocery stores and shops, and 30 -60 minutes from attractions and beaches. We actually preferred this because it allowed us to easily make excursions to more commercial/touristy areas and then retreat to our own little private paradise.
Finally, Carole was fabulous to work with, very kind and accommodating. We appreciated so much being able to enjoy some quality family time in Tom and Carole's home. Definitely look forward to staying again. This was easily the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. Highly Recommend.
This was my forth time vacationing here and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. Though not on the Ocean (only a 20 minute drive), the house and lanai offer a perfect retreat. The outside is beautifully landscaped, backing on to a man made canal and professionally maintained. The house itself offers all the amenities of home and more. When you walk through the front door you realize you are walking into a well kept home, not a vacation rental. I must admit I spend most of my waking hours on the lanai, either reading by the pool, swimming and even lounging under the covered area enjoying the rain as it passes through. Its central location makes day or overnight trips to other Florida destinations easy. The day cruise from Fort Myers to Key West was one of my favorites along with an overnight stay on Captiva Island. The owners Tom and Carole are always accessible and a pleasure to deal with. I have no negative comments, though my only fear is that is ceases to become a vacation rental.
We had the great pleasure of staying in this lovely home for a month and a half. It is truly best described as an "oasis". The landscaping surrounding the entire home is gorgeous, with numerous palm trees. The home is secluded and private as there are no homes immediately surrounding it. There are turtles and fish in the canal behind it.
When you step inside, it is beautifully decorated and furnished, yet comfortable, warm and inviting. It took us only a day to feel completely at home here. We absolutely loved the large lanai and pool! So spacious and clean, and not a bug in sight. The fountain in the pool completes the serenity of the lanai's setting. (We passed by many lanais on golf courses, and none of them compared to the size, privacy and serenity of this one).
When you are somewhere for more than a month, there are few things that are critical to a comfortable stay - a large shower, good water pressure and hot water, cleanliness, a comfortable bed and furniture. This home offered all of this, along with TVs in every bedroom and ceiling fans in every room in the house.
As others have mentioned, it is more of a rural and secluded location, so you do need to be aware of that. Beyond convenience and grocery stores, we had to drive 15 minutes or more. We did not mind as we enjoyed driving to other locations. As golfers, we played many courses, and found two of our favorites (Magnolia Landing and Herons Glen) turned out to be the closest to us and within 10-15 minutes. (Tip - Coral Oaks, a nice municipal course, is also within 15 minutes - and if you rent for a month or more, you can get the resident rate by showing your rental agreement). At the end of each day, we loved "coming home" and particularly enjoyed grilling on the lanai while watching TV there.
Our stay in Florida went much too quickly, and this home had a lot to do with it. Simply looking out from the sliding doors across the pool and lanai to the surrounding palm trees and canal, and you would understand. Thank you Tom and Carole, for a lovely and relaxing stay!

Thank you Tom and Carole for putting together such an awesome home in the Cape. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and must say it was the nicest and most well appointed home we have ever stayed at. The pool was awesome and we swam nearly every day. If anyone needs a place to stay in Cape Coral this is it
Thank you so much
My husband and I stayed in this wonderful vacation home in Cape Coral for two months. The home is beautifully decorated, large and well laid out. We ate in most days and the full kitchen and BBQ grill made it easy to prepare just about anything we desired. The home was extremely clean and well maintained. The heated pool and lanai were our favorite spot during the day. In the morning, we would open the sliding glass doors and enjoy our meals on the pool deck. This home is very private and quiet as there are no neighbours on either side of the house and there is a fresh water canal in the back. Shopping, dining and grocery stores were all a short drive away. We found the two months to be very relaxing in this fabulous home. The only bad thing I can say about this vacation rental (other than the fact that we had to leave and head home to the cold weather) was that the phone had a lot of static but this was only a minor issue. We enjoyed our stay so much that we plan on returning next year for two months. We had a chance to meet the owners and they are really lovely people.
