This light, bright & open contemporary Pebble Beach home located within walking distance to The Lodge and adjacent to the Lone Cypress tree along the 17 Mile drive with views of the Pacific from almost every window is the perfect getaway.

This home, originally built in 1970 in the Sea Ranch Style has just undergone a complete remodel.

The open kitchen/great room now has additional windows to the sweeping views of the Pacific where you can watch the waves crash and the otters play. A large wood deck opens towards the ocean through sliding doors from the Kitchen. This is the area where you will spend 90% of your time when in the house!

There are three buildings on the property. The main house, the guest house and the garage. The main house includes a huge master with a King Size bed and ensuite bath - complete with double sinks and walk-in closets. A large sitting area with sliding door access to an outdoor patio area is adjacent to the Master.

Up the stairs is a second large bedroom and a loft space separated by a bathroom. The upstairs beds can be configured as either 2 Twins or a King. The loft/den adjacent to the upstairs bedroom has a sitting area with a Flat screen TV and room to set up additional air mattresses (provided) for sleeping additional guests.

This rental includes a detached 300 square foot guest house. This separate space is the perfect solution for either teens, in-laws, or couples - allowing for private space - yet connection to the main house via the patio - all behind the locked gate. The Guest house has a mini-fridge, it's own en-suite bath with shower/tub and in the sleeping area has a Flat Screen TV and a great reading chair, dresser and book shelf.

The very large living room with its abundant windows provides views to the ocean. There is a game table in this room to either gather to play games, do a little work or eat a meal.

The newly renovated kitchen/great room has a sliding glass door out to an ocean side deck, a large flat screen TV in the sitting area, stackable washer/dryers behind a pocket door, all new top of the line appliances, a large island with seating and great views of the ocean.

Each of the three full bathrooms have also been completed remodeled with all new plumbing, cabinets, flooring, lighting. The bathrooms are roomy, bright, modern and VERY functional.

There is also a powder room right off the main entrance in what used to be a small closet.

There is ample parking at the top of the driveway as well as a several spots along the 17 mile drive, which belong to this property exclusively. There are times when 1 or 2 spaces are available for use in the garage. (please ask if interested).

Enjoy your morning tea/coffee from one of three outdoor patio areas and watch deer, listen for birds, and observe the beauty of the Del Monte Forest which surrounds this special home.

You might find more luxurious options, you might find cheaper options, but I can guarantee you won't find another place as unique, special and timeless as this modern tree house in the heart of the Del Monte Forest with the wide pacific expanse out your front door.

Oh - and let's not forget the neighborhood - Best Golf in the world. Easy access to Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey and more. A vacation experience you will long treasure.

About Tracy Jenkins

My husband, who worked for many years for the original owner and his wife has always loved this home. We purchased the home from the original owner's trust and have committed ourselves to share the home in the way the owners wished. It was always the wish of the original homeowners that those who stay here use the home as a place to explore the incredible Peninsula.

The Original owners hired a contemporary architect to build a structure that would melt into the surrounding Del Monte Forest, while taking advantage of the slope, the view and the natural beauty of the area. They took inspiration from the architecture you find at Sea Ranch on the Mendocino coast.

Although many people have wanted to purchase the property for the land to build a much grander home, we want to continue to share the home with visitors from near and far - as this how the original owners envisioned the home's use. For over 40 years countless friends, family and vacationers have enjoyed the peace, tranquility, location and unique beauty of this one-of-a-kind 17 mile drive home.

What makes this house unique

It's hard not to fall in love with this home each time you turn onto the 17 mile drive after passing the Lodge at Pebble Beach. A curve in the road, a slight turn, and then just before coming to the Lone Cypress you turn up the driveway. Parking the car and climbing a few short stairs to the wooden gate, worn to a weathered gray finish evoking a sense of time and place. The pebbled decks speckled with flower pots, lemon tree, multiple hummingbirds, and more greet you as you turn to the 2 story front entry way filled with light.

We almost always park the car and immediately walk the 200 yards (or less) to the Lone Cypress to enjoy the remarkable setting. We hope you will find the same joy.

Best of all worlds

This home included the best of the Pebble Beach area, while still being the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. Three couples shared the home during a golf and dining birthday trip for my husband and we could not have been happier with the location and home. We had rented the home before the recent remodel and had enjoyed it, though these wonderful new updates exceeded our expectations.

Upon arrival, we enjoyed the beautiful deck, looking out to the ocean and then later took a stroll to one of the nearby viewpoints to watch the sunset. Even though we dined out for most meals, the kitchen was wonderful and we enjoyed using it for breakfasts and appetizer/cocktail hour. And all the bedrooms, including the guest house were very comfortable and the adjoining bath areas gorgeous.

Thank you for our time in your very special stretch of 17 Mile Drive. We will certainly join you again soon!

This is a beautiful house in a prime location. Quiet, despite the proximity to the road.

The owner - Tracy - was very easy to work with. She responded to emails and phone calls quickly. The house comfortably accommodates 6 people. The guest house, the patios, the courtyard are very nice. Some information in the guest book, including the wi-fi and TV instructions needs to be updated, Tracy is aware. The mattresses in the guest house are nice, but the ones in the upstairs bedroom are too soft. The mattress in the downstairs master is okay, a bit soft and uneven, feels a little worn out. The only major inconvenience for us was inability to adjust the gas heater to provide comfortable temperature for both, master and room upstairs. The heater supplies both, but the room upstairs is much colder, making it difficult to warm it up without master becoming too hot. It would be best if the owners were able to install a separate heater for upstairs. Overall - a very good experience.

Love this House, can't wait to return

This was our second stay here, two years ago before the remodel and this year at the completion of the remodel. We love the location, having rented across the street for 15 years before it was sold. Tracy is very responsive and helpful. The house is completely stocked. Works great for three couples, and two children in the loft. Not good for more than 3 couples. Remodel was done first class. Can't wait to find opportunity to go back each year. Fits our needs perfectly.

Breathtaking and amazing

This house is way more than pictures can ever show. This magic house in the woods, just feels so right in a setting that is beyond words. The overall feel is one of being transported to a magic forest overlooking one of the most scenic bays in the world. Morning breakfast can be enjoyed while watching the otters swim in the bay. This house was everything Tracy described and more. We loved our stay and will be back again.

What a location and house. Everything you could possibly need and great views too. Nothing like morning coffee with view of ocean while the deer casually walk by. The owners are fantastic and so helpful made us feel so welcome. Easy access to Carmel and Monterey and so many things to do. Highly recommended

This Light and Bright contemporary home recently renovated with updated kitchens and baths is located just steps from the Lone Cypress tree right along the historic, scenic 17 mile drive. You can take beautiful walks to Pescadaro point, Cypress Point Golf club, Pebble Beach Golf Club. The location of this rental is one of the best along the drive.

This is a great place for your foursome to relax after a day of golfing at any of the Public golf courses located within a short distance. You can walk up to The Lodge at Pebble Beach, take a short drive to the Fire Pits at Spanish Bay Inn and Resort to hear the bagpiper as the sun goes down!! (This is a don't miss).

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is about 10 minutes away. The town of Carmel and it's quaint shopping is a short 10 minute drive as well.

You can also drive over to Point Lobos and hike the trails or do some diving, snorkeling. (Bring a wetsuit)

Drive down the coast to Nepenthes.

Or just simply relax and enjoy a simple walk along the drive. Bring your bikes and ride along the famous 17 mile drive.
