Great island and great house!
We have been greeted in the port by the muleteer who works for the house who took our luggage and we followed him in the relatively short climb on the hill where the house is located.
The house was practically better than descrbed: a 2 centuries old house, very nicely renovated and decorated and offering all modern amenities (incl. dishwasher, A/C, wifi, etc.). The bedrooms (with en suite bathrooms) were very nice and clean. The house has also 2 large terraces with views to the rest of the village and to the sea. I would recommend and, if back to Hydra, would repeat.
Idyllic holyday property
Very nice house, tastefully decorated, spacious, clean and functional. Very well located, quiet with a lovely view of the hills of Hydra and the sea. We were very well received. There is nothing to complain about.
The island is superb ...Idyllic holidays!
Very nice, beautiful, and lovley
Great location, perfectly clean and equipped
We spent 10 wonderful days in Isabelle's house.
Isabelle had a man and a mule pick us up at the Hydra port and guide us to her lovely house. The house and garden were perfectly clean, very well equipped and convenient for families.
It's location, 10min walk from the port, is perfect : close enough so that you can go down whenever you want, but far enough that you are in a calm and charmful neighbourhood of Hydra.
I warmly recommend this accommodation for a paradise-like holiday !
Beautiful house, immaculate, very big and ideally situated in the village ; lovely views
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful house, with a warm welcome from the house keeper. The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the living room and kitchen very big, convenient and fully equipped. The house is ideally situated in the middle of the village, with easy walks to the main harbor. I recommend it warmly : we had the best stay !!!
No car at all ! A totally unspoiled environment ! Hydra Island, one of the most beautiful and interesting islands in the World, is a small rocky island in the Argo Saronic Gulf. It’s very cosmopolitan, safe and only one and a half hour far from Athens. Hydra maintains a charm and warmth off the tourist trail. If you are looking for a step back in time and an appetite to experience the ‘real’ Greece then Hydra has lots to offer. The beautiful houses of traditional island and Venetian architecture, the beaches in summer and some great walks are just a few of the things the island has to offer. Watch the boats, fishermen in the early morning, the people go by, visit the art galleries, churches and museums, explore the island’s history and quaint shops. As there are no motorized vehicles, it really does have the feel of being left untouched by the modern world although you will find all the ‘real world’ conveniences.
