About Stacy Spletzer
My husband, daughter and I are Americans (Chicagoans) living and working in Montreal, Canada. When we realized that the beautiful Adirondack Mountains were an easy 2 hour drive from Montreal, we bought our rustic cabin in the woods in 2005 and have enjoyed countless weekends of skiing, biking, hiking and pure enjoyment. We bought the Scenic Point Chalet in 2010 so that we can share the region with others. We have enjoyed meeting many like minded, interesting and active people because of the chalet which has been a fun return.

Why Stacy Spletzer chose Jay
The Scenic Point Chalet is a rustic retreat. We fell in love with its multiple levels and two living areas which allow two families to have privacy or even better, for the adults to enjoy the upstairs living area and the kids downstairs. There is also something warm and inviting about its ambiance ... especially when the fire is roaring. We are quite proud of the chalet and the reviews we have rec'd since 2010.
What makes this Chalet unique
The chalet backs up to Clark Mountain which provides hours of adventure for those that want to take it. Miles and miles of x-country ski trails are within walking distance from the chalet's front door. Lake Eaton is also an easy stroll for a picnic, playground, tennis game or canoe ride. Also, one of the best benefits is that it is 'quiet' ... great if you just want to get away from the city noise and get back to nature.

Scenic Point Chalet
We enjoyed our stay! We’ll be back.
Everything was as advertised. Had a very comfortable and happy stay at this lovely little cabin. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s over the years and there is a definite difference between places that are only “rentals” vs those that are used and loved by their owners. This has obviously been a vacation home that has been taken care of personally and not just by hired managers. There are homey touches and comforts, decorations and conveniences not found in straight rentals. Recommend!
Wonderful weekend getaway with extended family! Eight of us were able to stay comfortably; Only issue was 6 chairs in lieu of 8 for the dinner table. We managed with a low bench but a couple fold-up chairs would do the trick.
Thanks for your wonderful review and we are glad you had a great stay. I am just sorry you didn't see the two folding chairs in the upstairs closet! Next time they are there for you ...
All the best,
We had such an enjoyable stay to end the summer hiking and paddling in the area. Stacey's home was a great home-base for us and so relaxing with the fire and comfy furnishings! It was as well stocked as any other place we have stayed and if you are looking for a peaceful end to your busy days this is the place !
Beautiful, secluded location.
The property was great, loved how quiet it was.
This cute little place was perfect. The 3 bedrooms are each on their own level so it manages to feel cozy yet there is still privacy. The kids have their own loft area to hang out in. We enjoyed the fireplace at night. About 18 minutes to Whiteface, which was perfect for us. We didn’t have any need to contact anyone during our visit, but all of the info was there if we needed it. I heard from Stacy before our trip with all necessary details.
Miles of x-country ski trails and the Ausable river are within walking distance from the chalet. Downhill skiers only have to drive 15 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. Shopping, spas, golf and other activities abound in the Olympic city of Lake Placid which is a scenic 14 mile drive, guaranteeing there is sure to be something for everyone at the Scenic Point Chalet. Ausable Chasm? It's close! Wilmington Beach ... perfect for swimming and the kids is only 6 miles.
