Oaxaca Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 4 adults

New owners, Jim and Pat, have just upgraded the decor of this delightful condo. The previous owners had completely renovated our living area and kitchen in the fall of 2010 to modern standards. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo is within the Camino Real Zaashila Resort with full access to all hotel amenities. We have an ocean view and sunset view from our private plunge pool (14 X 18 feet), just off our living room. Patio doors fold completely into the walls so the living room extends onto our patio and pool area - beautiful any time of day!!!

The Camino Real is situated on its own secluded beach in Tangolunda Bay. There are 3 restaurants, 2 bars, an enormous freeform pool, beach palapas, beach bar service, jet ski/kayak/sailing rentals onsite, Spa services beachside, travel concierge onsite, 24 hour room service....Everything you need in one location. Check in like a hotel guest, but with all the amenities of a home.

Our condo has a full kitchen complete with fridge/freezer, range, oven, microwave, wine fridge, and all the appliances and essentials for ease of cooking. The master bedroom is extremely large with full ensuite and private lanai with hammock for siesta time. The second bedroom has a new queen bed complete with flat screen TV/DVD combo and armoire. Our living room is complete with large flat screen TV, blue-ray DVD player, and DVD library.

Come and enjoy our little piece of paradise!

About Jim Howard

Jim and Pat are retired Canadians living in British Columbia. After searching for 'snowbird' properties in the Huatulco area, they fell in love with this condo and bought it. They have now spent their second winter enjoying their lovely private space within the beautiful Camino Real Zaashila beach resort. Pat and Jim are happy to share their piece of paradise when they cannot be there themselves.

Jim Howard purchased this condo in 2012

Why Jim Howard chose Mexico

This condo stood out from the other properties Jim and Pat reviewed because of its convenient location near the two Huatulco towns of Santa Cruz and La Crucecita while being far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy peace and quiet at home and within the beautiful resort property. Access to the resort's private beach and pools as well as the hotel amenities like daily maid service, room service, restaurants and bars, was a big attraction.

What makes this condo unique

The Camino Real Zaashila resort is a special place with its Mediterranean architecture, lush grounds, and beautiful setting on its own beach on Tangolunda Bay. The condo nests delightfully within this distinctive environment. The condo itself is spacious and attractive with partial sea views. The private plunge pool is a special feature, big enough to frolic in while cooling off. The nested sliding doors create a wide opening between the living room and the patio/pool, merging indoor and outdoor living.

Huatulco continues to be one of our favorite destinations. Our time there this year did not disappoint. The two of us stayed in Jim and Pat's condo for 12 days. The condo is in very nice condition; nicely updated compared to some other units in this unique Camino Real hotel/condo complex. Pat's decorating is also lovely. The colors are bright and fresh; she has used iocal artwork, bedding and linens. We loved sitting outdoors on the comfortable patio by the private large plunge pool at breakfast and in the evening,

The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking most of our meals there. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious. JIm and Pat have thoughtfully provided everything that you need including a nice selection of books, movies and games.

The condo offers a challenging hike to the top of the resort which is built on a steep hillside but the view from the top is definitely worth it. Of course, there is always a golf cart with a friendly staff to drive you up and down if you decide you are not up to the climb! And, the staff at the Camino are so friendly, kind and helpful. We loved our stay and can't wait to return. Thank you Jim and Pat.

Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Great condo, great location and a wonderful staff.

My family and I stayed at Jim's condo for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of our vacation.

The condo comes well equipped with everything one would need to cook a variety of meals.

The splash pool on the balcony is amazing. My 2 year old son loved the splash pool and the main pool by the ocean. The Camino Real is well looked after and shade is easy to find at all hours of the day. The staff is amazing. Absolutely no complaints. We will be back again.

Thank you Jim for everything.

Fantastic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I visited Huatulco for the first time and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We are frequent travellers of many destinations. When I sent an email to Jim he responded immediately, there was no wait time. And price point was perfect for a pre-Christmas vacation. We wanted to fully relax and it was easy to do.

There are lots of activities in the area if you want some action. We took a jet ski out for one morning and it was a blast. They gave us snorkel gear and a map and off we went to check out the bays that were only accessible with water crafts. We didn't snorkel, but during the ride we saw turtles, sting rays and even had a dolphin swim around us. What a time we had!

The condo was fully complete with everything you need and then some. We had coffee every morning on the patio and enjoyed the plunge pool every afternoon after the hot sunny days. I can't say enough about the staff at this resort. Housekeeping was there everyday and there was nothing they didn't miss along with the pool boy. He took great pride in the pool and always had a giant smile! We speak hardly any Spanish and we had excellent interaction with all the staff. Between the charades and broken Spanish we always made the conversation fun.

In regards to the restaurants and wait staff, everything was over the top. They were so helpful and you can tell the enjoyed their jobs. Every meal we ate there was excellent. As for walking around the resort it was quite the trek up to the condo everyday, as the hills are pretty steep. However that didn't stop us from enjoying the walk. The staff will accommodate you if you need help or a ride up.

We took a taxi from the condo to visit La Crucecita (sp) and it was so easy. We just walked a short distance to the taxi stand and they had us on our way. The ride to the town was very short and they take you directly to the main tourist area. The drivers are familiar with all the places that you request and there is always a taxi no matter where you are to get you back to the condo. We never once felt uncomfortable anywhere. Jim offers plenty of recommendations to restaurants and grocery stores.

I certainly look forward to returning here. I guarantee I will be in touch with Jim to make that happen as he took great care of us any time we needed him.

Thank you Jim and Pat for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise!!

One Month in Huatulco

  • 5 of 5

Plus:

Exclusive Bay, Large well equipped pool with loungers and umbrellas. beautiful beach with loungers and palapas. Two beach front Restaurants, plus pop-up restaurant on the sand, and bar. Great condo with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room and two patios. living room has pocket doors that completely open up to the private plunge pool. Daily maid service kept it clean and tidy. Excellent staff.

Negative:

Very steep road up to the Condo. Golf cart available at no charge, although a small tip is always appreciated. Drop off on the beach made swimming difficult, if not impossible for less than strong swimmers.

Location:

Short walk to snack bar, laundry store, restaurants. 40 pesos, incl. tip, taxi ride to Town Centre or great beach in Santa Cruz.

Conclusion:

Life isn't perfect but this holiday came very close to it !

Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband retired late last year so I booked this wonderful place for the month of November 2014 to get him in retirement mode. This beautiful place did just that. It is quiet and peaceful. October is the end of the rainy season so all the foliage was lush and full. The grounds are constantly groomed and fabulous. The ocean is just steps from the quiet secluded pool and the ocean breezes help to cool the entire area. The condo is homey yet exotic. Very comfortable. The resort staff can't do enough for you. One month went so fast. We also had a great time in the town area. Lots of fun markets and upscale shopping as well. Fun outside cantinas abound.

Notes:
Huatulco is a relatively new, environmentally friendly resort area in the southernmost part of Mexico's Pacific coast. Its best feature is its nine bays, four of which remain pristine within a national park. The area is clean and safe. (You can drink the water.)
