The condo is located on the second floor and is near the reception area, offering easy access to the fishermens village bar, restaurant, snack bar, spa and expansive pool and private beach area. It's like renting a private condo with the amenities of a resort.

About Matt Weatherbee

We moved from Boston to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in 2008 and we haven't looked back since. We came originally on vacation and saw the opportunity to open a successful property management company. Within 3 months of returning from vacation we had quit our jobs, sold everything (except our condo and car) and drove 4,500 miles from Boston to Playa with our 2 miniature schnauzers.

We absolutely love Mexico. The food is fantastic - we eat out often, enjoying a variety of cuisines in one of a kind establishments, most of which are within walking distance of our condo. We have formed a large circle of friends, mostly retired expats, and even host Thanksgiving with usually more than 50 attendees! For Halloween a group of 20+ friends come over, all dressed in costume and we hit 5th Avenue and hand out candy to all the children. It is the most fun day of the entire year!

When we are not working, Matt enjoys working out, reading, playing bridge, cooking gourmet meals and visiting the beach. Allan enjoys watching TV, playing blackjack, eating out, going to the movies and also visiting the beach.

Our family of 6 loves Fishermen's Village and loves this condo. The patio, which overlooks the pool and beach, is the largest in the complex - we spent every evening out there! The kitchen is small but perfect for our needs, which was breakfast and lunch. We made the short drive (or long walk) to downtown Playa every night. Great day trips to ruins, XEL-HA and cenotes. We've been twice and are planning our third trip. Our favorite vacation spot!

I love the Fisherman!!

Absolutely love this resort! have been there 8 times & ready to go again! well maintained, excellent staff, grounds are beautiful. this unit was very nice, clean, awesome balcony!! we had a few maintenance issues, but they responded immediately! great customer service; I would rent this unit again!

Wonderful Condo

Our group was made up of 6 women so this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo was perfect. Each bedroom has a connected bathroom. Two with stand up showers and the master has a tub/shower combo. The bedrooms are all nice sized. The kitchen is small and does not have a dishwasher, but does have a nice fridge, stove and microwave. The kitchen has an adequate number of plates, glasses, cups, bowls etc but very limited serving type dishes. It was fine for us since we didn't "cook" while we were there, but if we had wanted to cook and serve a full meal, we would have had to get creative. The living room is not as big as some of the pictures make it appear, but it worked fine for us. The bamboo furniture was surprisingly comfortable. The large, partially covered deck was terrific. Facing the east, we enjoyed wonderful sunrises and views. Later in the day, the covered deck and sea breeze kept it comfortable in the midday heat and evening hours. The Fisherman's facility was well maintained, attractive and convenient to Playa del Carmen but far enough away to feel quiet and calm. Be advised that there is no elevator to the upper floors. The staff was wonderful. Several of our party spent time at the spa located on site and felt they got a good value and services for their money. The one thing important to note is we had a nearly impossible time getting change or US dollars converted to pesos at the front desk. We're not talking big bills, just $20 to pay for a cab etc. They claimed they did not have any money to give us change, which we found hard to believe. Make sure to get small denominations of US dollars or pesos at one of the many exchange booths or banks in Playa del Carmen. Another note is although most restaurants and shops will take US dollars, most all purchases are quoted in pesos and they prefer to deal in pesos.

Overall our stay was terrific!

Walk to Dinner and Feel the Breeze

This condo was perfect. The highlights are the huge patio that overlooks the ocean and convenient location. It is very close to 5th Street in Play Del Carman. Convenient to shopping, dining, the Cozulmel ferry and $20 beachfront messages. The beds are comfortable and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The decor is beachy, not overdone. The living room furniture was not real comfortable but no one cared because we spent all of our time on the patio couch. The resort offers an All Inclusive package but we didn't take it. The food is good but with so many options within a 15 min walk to town there is no need to take the package. The walk to town is very safe. The beach front is well kept and just steps from the room. Great Place. I will be back for sure.

Great family reunion

Location was awesome! Pool and beach were unbelievable. Facility was clean and well kept. Just the right distance from Playa del Carmen - easy walk to shops, restaurants and Starbucks! Marcial the bellman and Eduardo the beach bartender were amazing guys - super friendly always remembered our names! Great representatives of the resort. Spa staff were wonderful as well. The rest of the staff could take lessons, especially the front desk.

Our condo was nice but could use some updating and a gas grill! Water pressure and hot water within the unit needs to be addressed. Would recommend, especially once theses few issues are addressed.

Great week getaway!!!

Great place beautiful view, the management staff were wonderful, the concierge service had our kitchen stocked for our arrival and assist us with booking our tours. the property is older but that just ads to the charm.

I would recommend this unit, and will use North American Standards Property Management for my next vacation to the area.

The staff was extremely helpful.
