This stylish designer studio apartment, located in an architecturally noteworthy building, is the perfect Sun Valley base for a couple getaway or solo escape. Located in the heart of downtown Ketchum, guests can walk to the town’s best restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. For skiers, the River Run Lodge and base area at Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain is only a mile away.
The light filled studio features reclaimed materials and contemporary furnishings. Kitchen, dining table with four stools, sofa, built in bench, coach chairs, wood fireplace and a king size bed are artfully incorporated in the space. The bathroom is stunning with its minimalist fixtures, flood of light and use of glass and tile. It is nothing short of a “cool” place to explore one of the best mountain towns no matter the season.
The Dynamite Shed was originally built in 1890 to store explosives used by the nearby mines. The building has had many different uses after local mining came to an end. The building was most recently refurbished by the current owners to be their Sun Valley work-live property—their offices on the ground floor and this “Dwell-style” studio on the second level. The architects chose to make minimal modifications to the original structure and emphasized the use of natural and reclaimed materials. They artfully and effectively pay tribute to the history of the building while accommodating modern use.
Please note that there is no parking available for this property and you cannot park on the street without risk of your car being towed especially in the winter. Guests have use of The Limelight Hotel's parking garage for $15 a night. The Limelight is two blocks south of the Dynamite Shed and only a five minute walk. The studio is located on the bus line that takes you to resort bases and around town.
