We just returned from Sea Oats and our amazing vacation. It started with one of the most welcoming check ins we've ever had. Everything we could have possibly wished for was provided. We can't wait to go back! Thanks to Christine and the owners for the magic!
Our company spent a week at the Sea Oats in October and we had a fantastic experience. The house is massive, fully stocked and impeccably decorated. It's the perfect company retreat location; the house and grounds gave us all plenty of room to spread out, while also providing a space that allowed us to congregate comfortably whenever we needed to. We held all of our meetings in the beautiful living room or on the back patio, and we spent most of our evenings hanging out in the cozy den or playing tennis and basketball on the private court. Our employees particularly loved the dock behind the house and the access to great fishing and nature watching. Most of them had never seen a dolphin in the wild before! Thank you Christine and everyone at the Sea Oats for making our stay so enjoyable! We hope to come back next year!
We had planned our trip to Sea Oats for over a year so that everyone in the family could be there. We had 21 people ranging in age from 3 to 78. The house is incredible, as is the customer service. The biggest help was the grocery shopping ahead of our arrival that had the house so well supplied that we made very few trips to the store. The weather was perfect - hot and sunny during the day, scattered storms at night. We had two ping-pong tournaments with "NCAA-like" brackets. All but the 3 year old had to play, and everyone loved it. Not many shells on the beach, but all shellers had goggles, and found wonderful shells off-shore. Our prizes: two golden olives and the largest horse conch I have ever seen. Also, it is so nice not to have a public beach adjoining the property. The big den served all eleven children (ages 10-22) together at night for TV and board games. We did order bikes, kayaks and paddleboards for daytime use in the bay. We all enjoyed sight-seeing on the island. It has changed so much over the years since we first visited in 1978. As a group, we did not go out to eat - too many all at once for a restaurant. Our college students, however, did enjoy the Mucky Duck. In summary, our stay at Sea Oats was everything I had deamed it would be and more. Highly recommend it for any large gathering.
We had our 60th birthday reunion for a large group of college buddies (21). The house is very well appointed, lots of room even with 21 of us we had plenty of elbow room. Excellent condition, everything worked as advertised. The pool is great for relaxing and comfortably warm. The back dock is a fun place to mingle and throw out a hook into the lagoon (caught a bunch of catfish but threw them back). Easy access to gulf beach and boating activities. We rented bikes and the ride to the little village of Captiva is nice, a few bars and boutiques as well. We hired a chef for our stay and he was superb (Chef Palo Felix),great food and easy going manner would highly recommend. We loaded up at the local Costco and Publix for extra food and bev and plenty of space in frig for beer wine etc. Tons of dishes, glasses and pretty much everything you need is there. Plus plenty of towels and sheets were clean and comfy, there is a washer dryer too. Guest house is a nice setup if some want privacy separation. Manager Christine very helpful. Can't wait to return.
Our company had our executive committee annual conference here this year. This was the first time this event was not on the east coast. (Somebody did a good sales job). There was 22 of us this year. We had a corporate 'cook off' the second night, which was a lot of fun. The kitchen is enormous and extremely well equipped. (We trashed the kitchen and they cleaned it up for us the next day.) we only cooked one day. Most of the events were water oriented. We had a day of fishing (loved it) a kayak thing (too much work), stand up paddle boarding (boring for me). And the grand finale was fly boarding. They strap a backpack on you and water jets gets you 20 feet in the air. That was really incredible. So the area has a lot to offer. The accommodations were very comfortable. Plenty of room for us. The air conditioning worked great. Since it was 90 out, that was important. Beds were comfortable. Slept good.
Fantastic holiday home. 20 family enjoyed every minute of our weeks stay.
Best part for me was to see dolphins swimming by at the end of the garden!
Very helpful manageress - Christine - arranged our shopping and helped with finding shops, attractions etc. Thanks for making our holiday memorable, we would love to return some day soon.
