Reviewer Comments:

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Cielo. It is a beautiful property with all the amenities needed to enjoy our time away. It is a very remote place that is quiet and relaxing. It took about 20 minutes to get into town so it is wise to bring everything you need because it's not a quick or easy trip(dirt roads that are bumpy) to a store. Also, We didn't see any A/C available so it got a little warm in the afternoons, but the mornings and evenings were fine with the windows open. The management was helpful and the property was clean. We would come and stay again.

Casa Cielo is a lovely property, but needs to be better maintained. Cooktop light still does not work as noted in November 2016 review. Also, several window and door handles need to be repaired as does the master bathroom whirlpool switch. Although a self cleaning oven was in the kitchen, it had not been cleaned in some time and was quiet grimy and smelly. Hot tub was clean and well maintained. It was surprising that master bathroom towels were bleach spotted when nicer towels are such an easy fix.

Owner's Response: Dear We thank you for taking the time to let us know that all was not perfect during your recent stay at Casa Cielo. By the end of "ski season" many homes are in need of some extra TLC. Regretfully, 7 months is a long time for the cook top light to be in disrepair. We will be taking all of your points to Glen, the Caretaker and things should be taken care of within the month. The longest may be replacement of the cook top light as such items are not always readily available in our isolated location and must be found, ordered and delivered by snail mail. Regarding the master bedroom whirlpool, it was determined several years ago that the parts are no longer available. Thus, the photos on the web site state that it is "not a jet tub" but rather it is now a deep soaking tub. Should one require "Jet tubbing" they will have to depend on the exterior panoramic mountain view hot tub on the deck. With all this, we still hope to see you back with us again and letting us know that you are a repeat guest. Thank you also for letting us know that you are willing to tell your friends about Casa Cielo.

Reviewer Comments:

We enjoyed our stay and loved Taos and the Ski Valley. The home is very nice however it is very far outside of town and the roads are very rough for travel. Expect very dirty cars. The home is nice and has plenty of character. We had some issues with water pressure for showers as well as lack of hot water. There are several light bulbs burned out and the inside of the oven was very dirty. The dishwasher also needed rinse aid. The Jacuzzi stopped working and we were unable to get it started even with the help of rental people calling us back. Taos is gorgeous in the spring and the local people are some of the nicest and friendliest you will find anywhere. The Taos ski experience is exceptional! Great local restaurants also.

Reviewer Comments:

My husband and I just spent Thanksgiving week at Casa Cielo. First, if you are looking for a very remote location this is the place for you. We were pleasantly surprised to find the home was up a long dirt road and over a mountain. When they say you need 4 wheel drive in the winter months, they aren't kidding. Ours came in handy this early in the winter season. The house is made of adobe and holds the heat or cool air well. We didn't run the AC or heat at all during our stay and actually slept with the bedroom windows open with temperatures in the low 20's outside. Never got hot or cold. Great, high quality, ceiling fans are in the house as well. For the negatives, the caretaker and Premiere Properties were not responsive. On the day of our arrival, we found no less than TEN lights out/missing in the kitchen and appliances. I had to cook Thanksgiving dinner with subdued lighting. I texted the caretaker asking if their were bulbs anywhere (I couldn't find any) and he never answered. So, I emailed Premiere on Monday and they never answered either. We found out later that there were 4 bulbs out in the master bedroom and one on the back porch blew during the week with no replacements available. Approaching the front door there are 3 pretty steep steps and no hand rails. It was slippery a few mornings and it was hard to get down without having something to hold on to. There are two first floor porches but we couldn't enjoy them because there was no chairs available. We only used the master bedroom while there and the wood bed was very dusty. I'm unsure if we would stay here again due to the issues we had. The things I listed are somewhat minor but these are the types of things that shouldn't happen at all. If we came back it would be for the remoteness and the views.

Secluded, yet connected (great Sat TV, good internet, my cell phone even worked), 300 degrees of million dollar views and lots of wildlife. Caught some trout in the Rio Grande and Red rivers. Taos has a rich culture and wonderful local cuisine. Great trip...

Good overall. House in good shape. Superb location, very remote. Outstanding views. Extremely quiet. A few maintenance issues here and there to tend to (a few doors handles that need to be replaced, outdoor furniture in need of replacement, other minor issues). House should be stocked with more paper towels and toilet paper next time, or ask guests to bring some. Property folks very responsive. Only real issue is the booking process. I cannot understand in 2016 why on earth I would ever need to fax something and why I would make part of a payment with a credit card and then be required to send a check. This is completely unnecessary. There are many easy methods to make this all electronic, and you'd probably have more quality bookings by doing so.

Owner's Response: Dear Tim, Thank you for your time and effort to write this review. I am glad to know that you appreciated the serenity of the location and the outstanding reviews. The reason we ask for half payment by check and half by credit card is simply to keep costs down so that we may offer lower nightly rates. If someone insists on paying 100% by credit card they may do so with an additional charge for the 2nd half. Credit card purchases are costly and paying half by check allows us to offer lower nightly rates.
