'LA LOGGIA' is bigger apartment - about 80 square meters-for 5 people, owes its name to a lovely veranda where you can dine outside and comprises large kitchen / dining area and living room with working fireplace, a double room with double bed, a twin bedroom with 3 single beds (or, optionally, 1 double and 1 single), bathroom with shower, all furnished with valuable furniture and attention to detail. Outer space-very large - in addition to the pine forest and a large garden includes a swimming pool with lounge chairs and umbrella and allows peace and privacy, even the most discerning guests. Availability of garden furniture and barbecue.
Very nice farmhouse of the end of 1700 (already surveyed in the first cadastre of the Granducato of Tuscany in 1812) consists of two apartments with independent entrance and well separated, “La Loggia” and “Il Forno”.
Furthermore , the apartment "Il Forno" is divided on two floors (first floor and ground floor), each with separate entrance and can be rented either all together (the first floor and ground floor) or separately. The ground floor is recently built (2015) and is equipped both air conditioning and dishwasher.
All apartments are furnished with great care and respect for Tuscan tradition, with characteristic wooden beamed ceilings. The villa is located in a beautiful location in the heart of Montagnola, a beautiful hilly and wooded zone declared "Site of Importance" by the European Community (EC), only 10 km and few minutes drive from the center of Siena and is located in close proximity of the famous "Via Francigena", (the old road that pilgrims of northern Europe were to go to Rome and that crosses the whole of Tuscany all the Tuscan way has been recently mapped ) with the possibility of beautiful walks starting directly from the house. Ideal for those who want a peaceful holiday and relaxation. Outer space, a real park bigger than 3 acres, allowing guests to each apartment to be able to isolate in perfect tranquility and enjoy in a "heart space", also includes a nice pool whose use is restricted to guests, with chairs and umbrellas, as well as tables and chairs. Very quiet and relaxing, ideal for families or groups of friends who want to maintain their privacy.
This location is PERFECT! Yes it is down a long road, but we did not have any problem finding this location on our own. We downloaded the Maps of Italy onto our own GPS for the rental car and it took us right to the Road of the Villa. We did stop and ask someone and we were guided just a little further down the road. What an amazing Driveway entrance lined with BEAUTIFUL Cyprus Trees. David, Simone, and Vittoria are the most gracious hosts and warm and wonderful people. We were invited to their BBQ on May 1st. We ate authentic Italian cooking, had some traditional Italian goodies David and Simone and their friends were so friendly and funny and welcoming. After Dinner we took a beautiful walk around the area with the whole crew…Such amazing, beautiful sights. BRAVO MARIO!!!!!! This Villa is rustic and comfortable and had all of the amenities you need. I wish it was warm enough for us to have used the pool! During our stay, we were able to visit: Volterra, San Gimignano, The Verrazano Winery in the Chianti Region, We even hiked Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre was a 2.5 hr drive but WELL WORTH IT! this location was close enough to everything, ESPECIALLY Siene!!!!!! the shopping in Siene was Perfect and it only took us about 15 minutes to get to the center of Siene. We made it to the market on Wednesday morning and walked around all day on Wed. We even went back on Friday to have dinner and do some more shopping.
I can't say enough wonderful things about David, Simmone and Vittoria and of course the Villa and the location and our trip to Italy! We will definitely be back. Ciao
We (four adults) stayed 10 nights at this beautiful villa. Short drive to many beautiful and fantastic hill towns! David and his wife were so welcoming and very responsive. I highly recommend this accommodation and if I have the privilege of returning to Italy, would definitely stay here again!
Thank you to the owners for their hospitality!
Our Tom Tom navigation system found this hide away gem easily. Set amongst beautiful trees, it was the perfect place to come back to from a day's sightseeing. It's about 10 minutes drive from Siena - a very beautiful drive.
The apartment is lovely and one can relax there like its your own home.
David and his wife met us there to hand over the keys - super friendly and helpful people!!!!!!
The every day walk with our dog was a treat for both of us; we loved the fact that she could run free and explore. - As so our 8 year old boy!!!
Day trips down to Val d'Orcia is a must - (Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Sant Antimo Abbey ext) Lovely landscape all over.
We can only recommend this accommodation, a place to return to!!!
Truly lovely Tuscan countryside apartment. Very close to Siena and all the wonderful towns including Orvieto. Quite, peaceful and very comfortable. Everything you would need to have a lovely holiday. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space. The children could wander in the garden and enjoy the fresh air. Lots of Italian country ambiance - stone building, antiques and timber roofing - just lovely. highly recommend staying here to explore Tuscany!
The perfect blend of aesthetics and practicality! We experienced the rural life of Tuscany, while retaining the ability to reach a highway (or coffee or groceries or restaurants, or Siena) within 10 minutes. The children loved exploring in the forest, swimming in the pool (a much-needed treat after a day of touring), accessing the wifi and sleeping under authentic wooden beams. My husband and I loved the well-stocked kitchen, private balcony for evening wine, free laundry, running trails and the incredible beauty of the property (perfectly placed flowers, gorgeous stone walls, romantic lighting...) A dream stay that we plan to repeat annually.
In addition, David and Simona were welcoming and knowledgable hosts, providing excellent directions, insider tips and assistance when needed (they even printed out my Florence museum e-tickets for me so I didn't have to find a service). They accommodated our early morning departure and quickly responded to any questions. When they were on the property for caretaking, they respected our privacy.
Our stay here was as much a highlight of our Italy trip as visiting the David or the Duomo or Siena.
We highly recommend this incredible property and these amazing hosts.
PS Our tips:
-The proximity to Siena allows for multiple early morning/late evening visits (away from the busloads of tourists). We found the St. Catherine parking near the escalator to be most convenient.
-We used our iPhone maps navigation with great success
-Bar Orsso rocks! Superb atmosphere, food and music in the evenings. Combine it with a late afternoon stroll around nearby Monterrigioni.
-Drive through Chianti for incredible views
-If driving from Rome, stop in Orvieto - our favorite Medieval hilltop town. The cathedral facade is incredible!
-Best gelato definitely in San Gimignano. Ask David for the name.
We stayed in the La Loggia apartment for 2 weeks in september. We had fabulous weather! We loved sitting outside on the loggia in the evening, drinking wine and playing cards. Our stay was wonderful and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a perfect location to make day trips all around Tuscany. David and his daughter Vittoria were so helpful! They made a great resource for where to go and how to get there. They spoke excellent english and gave us so many good recommendations and excellent driving directions. The best recommendation was for a weekend trip to Castiglione della Pescaia, a beach town near Grosseto. We would recommend this place to everyone unless they had mobility issues as there are stairs up to the apartment.
The property is located 10 min / car from the center of Siena, nestled in the beautiful countryside of Montagnola. It is the ideal starting point to visit places of historic interest and scenic as Volterra, San Gimignano, Pienza, Montalcino, which are all within easy reach, as well as the cities of Florence, Arezzo and Pisa.
Beautiful trails, from Siena to visit the Chianti and the Crete Senesi in tours that combine unforgettable views to the best of Italian food and wine. The Tuscan coast with its most beautiful places as Castiglione della Pescaia or Argentario, is 1 hour by car. Siena is the city of the Palio, which is really an experience to live, but not only that, there are many, in fact, shows and especially artistic and musical events throughout the year mean that your holiday remains memorable .
But the real question is : "and if, instead of going around, I stay to tan by the pool?"
