Dixon Rauch purchased this house in 1982
A family second home for over 30 years, we are all busy guys so we love to rent it out to others.
A great, cozy, comfortable house, great year round. In the winter, there is nothing better than sitting by the wood stove and reading or playing games or watching a movie - unless it's the summer when it's hard to beat sitting on the deck right above the Salmon River and watching and listening as it goes by; with a great view of the tree covered mountains across the river. Very peaceful and comfortable for a short or long getaway. And all the activity you could wish for within miles: golf, hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and more.
We enjoyed the time and the home felt like home. I do wish the posting for the vacation rental would have mentioned no yard and no direct river access, but overall we had a wonderful time!
Would definitely stay here again. The proximity to the mountain was our main reason for staying and it was great. Very close to grocery stores, restaurants, snow/ski store for last-minute items and the mountain. Comfortable home filled with amenities and a gorgeous view.
We loved our stay at this cabin! It's snowed and was gorgeous. There was everything you could think of that you would need in the kitchen. Very quiet area and peaceful. We would love to stay here again! Not everything is perfectly new but I personally like that because it feels like a home :)
We stayed in the Dixon Rauch house for Thanksgiving and had a truly memorable weekend. The house was very cozy with the wood stove and all the games/entertainment provided. We also love to cook, and their kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need to make anything. It was truly a relaxing experience and the view of the river was pretty amazing.
We stayed here because my niece was getting married nearby that we wanted to have our own digs. The place is in a great location. All you could need in the kitchen. I think that the furniture could use some editing, there's too much and it makes it difficult to get around the bedroom and living room. Owners easy to work with. Thank you!
A great getaway; only 45 minutes from the city of Portland, OR and yet tucked away in the mountain setting and right on the Salmon River. Close to hiking, skiing and fishing. Right across the street from the 27 hole golf course that is a fun and challenging course. No end to the activities available, and lots of great choices for meals or take out.
