I have 5 luxury properties in Jaco / Playa Hermosa. I have the number one home out of over 1,000 on HomeAway. Here is why my properties are so much more popular than all the rest:
1) I own and manage all four of our homes. With no broker fees or commissions to pay you get a great house for 40% less than you would elsewhere.
2) I have a staff of 6 dedicated 100% to these four properties. Everything is maintained perfectly. Daily housekeeping is included.
3) The number listed here is my personal cellphone. When you need something I and Maricela are here to help regardless of what the need is.
Walk to the beach. There are 6+ bedrooms. One of those is a loft above the main living areas. It has a king bed and private bath but no walls. There is a master bedroom with a king bed and private bath. There is one bedroom with two twin beds and another room with a king bed. These two rooms share a bathroom. At the other end of the penthouse are two bedrooms with king beds that share a giant bathroom. There is a very small room with bunk beds off this bathroom. That room is not counted in the 6.
This condo is rock star cool. It is a full two stories and has 30-foot ceilings and is very modern. There is a large kitchen with bar seating for 8. The kitchen has everything you might need including a real espresso machine.
Everything is brand new. The condo has 12 brand new air conditioners. There are 3 large televisions with Netflix and cable. We have fast internet and seamless WiFi throughout. Included in the price is a WiFi hotspot and local cellphone for your use. We have a local Costa Rica phone and a US phone in the condo. This condo, like all our properties, is furnished with nothing but the best. We bring the sheets and towels from the US. We buy the best mattresses and pillows available.
This is the perfect in-town location for your family reunion. The pool is massive and beautiful. There is a playscape area for children and three hot tubs along with one of the largest swimming pools I have ever seen. This penthouse has a balcony that is 80 feet long with views of the Pacific ocean, the mountains and all of Jaco. This property will be the backdrop of a vacation you will never forget.
You can mix and match our properties. You can stay in one for a couple days and move to another. Just make a separate reservation for each house.
If The Penthouse is booked for your dates check out our other properties, Casa Overlook, Casa Espana Casa Loco and Casa Zocalo on RentRica.com. RentRica is a HomeAway Premier Partner. We book exclusively on HomeAway/VRBO.
Cash deposit at check-in. HomeAway provides insurance for damage to the house. We charge a $500 cash deposit at check-in. This is held to assure all of the items lent to you, including surfboards, wifi hotspots, phones, keys, bicycles and so on are returned. Provided everything is returned at checkout and none of the rules were violated the money will be refunded in cash when you leave.
Getting Here: We are a 75-minute drive from the San Jose airport. DO NOT fly into Limon. Many times people make that mistake. Limon is on the North East Coast. All the cool stuff (well most of it) is on the Pacific side. You do not want to go to Limon. You can rent a car from Vamos in San Jose and drive yourself. It is highway all the way. I will give you coordinates to the house and you can get here with Google maps. I'll even show you how to download the maps in advance so you don't use data along the way. If you aren't comfortable driving here we can arrange a transport for you. Once you are in Jaco we can help you get a rental car.
Money: The local currency is colones. There are 560 colones to a US dollar. You don't need colones. You can use dollars everywhere. If you want colones the cheapest way to get them is out of the ATM. Don't go to any of the currency exchange booths. And don't buy colones from your bank in the US. You will get charged 10% or more with either of those. Cash is king in Costa Rica. Restaurants will take credit cards (usually) but Taxi rides, massages, and many other small purchases must be made in cash. If the power goes out no one can take credit cards. So keep some cash reserves.
Language: About half the people in Jaco speak English. Every restaurant, store and tour operator has English speaking employees. Costa Ricans are extremely friendly. They will help you with your Spanish. Maybe a cram course on Duoling.com before you go will help :)
Communication: You can call me at any time. My personal cell phone is listed here with HomeAway. If you are coming to Costa Rica it is best to create a WhatsApp account. This is how most of Central America, Mexico, and Europe communicate. It's free. You can talk with Maricela before and during your trip. Message or call her with WhatsApp for everything from a dinner reservation to a masseuse to come to the house. She will make dinner reservations for you, arrange transportation, book your tours and whatever else you need. Think of Maricela as your personal Concierge. Just don't forget to tip her before you leave ;)
Is It Safe? Yes. It is as safe in Costa Rica as it is in the US. There is no place in the world that has zero crime. Use common sense and you will be safe. Don't walk on the beach alone at night, mind your own business, watch out for riptides and don't stand under coconut trees or swim in the Tercoles River with the Crocodiles and you will be just fine.
If you want to bring a few friends over to play a game of billiards or sit on the balcony they are welcome after 10pm but are not allowed in the public areas such as the pool. Parking is limited to two vehicles.. If you have any questions about travel to Costa Rica I am happy to answer them.
Need help with transportation? No problem. I can help you book round trip transportation with a licensed company in a new, safe vehicle. Just ask.
