Great stay in a wonderful location.
Would recommend this property for a relaxing stay when in Tucson.
Rural in the City
If I had to describe this property in one sentence it would be. Rural in the city. The properties all have large lots. Lots of foliage around. We saw wildlife several times. Backyard was very private. Comfortable place to relax. Yet close to everything we needed. We went for several walks through the neighborhood. Folks were very friendly. The room was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The only comment I would make is I felt the tv was a little small, I couldn't read the guide from the bed, and it was a little to high up on the wall to watch from the sofa. I ended up with a kink in my neck. We were able to compensate for that by sliding the sofa back further. All in all we enjoyed our stay especially the back yard.
Great potential. Needs work
12/30/18 - 1/8/19. This one room rental is located in an excellent inner suburb, and is very nicely laid out for 2 people. In Tucson one has to drive pretty much everywhere, but this location is within 5 or so miles from downtown and good hiking. Cy (the manager) is absolutely wonderful, and did her best to care for us with graciousness and attentiveness. That said, there are a few issues that require attention: 1) The HVAC is intolerably loud. There is a programmable thermostat, but it is utterly indecipherable, so the heat/air will randomly go on at seemingly odd hours. We finally figured out how to turn the thing off, and just lived with the cold rather than the noise. A modern 80 dollar thermostat would solve this problem; 2) the promised gas fireplace has been disconnected, which was an enormous disappointment for us, since it was a primary reason for selecting this place; 3) the whirlpool tub is wonderful, but the water heater does not produce enough hot water to fill it to the point that it works with anything hotter than lukewarm water. 4) There is no kitchen sink in the unit, but one is available in the attached garage. We managed quite well with this setup; 5) the pool is unheated, which, apparently, is not unusual here, and would not an enormous issue during the summer months, anyway; 6) the sharp edge of the metal roof over the entry will tear the flesh off your head if you are over about 5'10, so use care!. We very much hope that Cy and Susan will address these issues, because this is possibly one of the best places available to stay in Tucson.
Quiet neighborhood, private entrance, natural desert vegetation
We enjoyed our stay.
Nice little studio
The people were very nice , had a nice patio for coffee in am. Pool was great but not warm enough to swim. The bath tub was great for two people. Would be better with cable tv and a kitchen sink and lit stove . We stayed for two weeks . Was like a honeymoon suite. A bigger tv would help also.
So much better than a Motel
Basically it's a large room with a big porch. We stayed while sightseeing the Tucson area. The covered porch was a great place to relax after a day of biking, hiking or sightseeing. I'm not a bird watcher but enjoyed the parade of various birds in the yard below. It's located in a small, low traffic, quiet subdivision not far from one of the major routes into Tucson. It's also relatively close to a variety of restaurants and groceries. With local temp.s varying from the 30s to the 80s the HVAC worked fine when needed. We'd stay there again if in the Tucson area.
